I was just wondering what some of the main controls were. I have limited movement in my arms and hands, and was just wondering if you have to mainly use the mouse, keyboard, or both. Also, is there a lot of clicking and dragging?

This game can be modified to work very well with voice-recognition software. That way you could do most things by simply speaking the commands. Hold on and I will point you to a thread on one of the forums here...

Most people are recommending a program called SHOOT, and some have even posted the commands and modifications you would need to do.

I hope this helps. Have fun.

I actually read somewhere that a guy had installed a software program that enabled him to use the mic too!

See yourself shouting to the computer, and notice your offiers reply!

Yes, if that's your situation, get the Shoot voice program, it should make things a lot easier for you.

As far as functions, although there's quite a few key shortcuts, the game is best played with the mouse. The interface is VERY friendly (one of the best parts of the game for me), for most people anyway.

The only clicking and dragging is on the Navigation map, and even there it's only to drag the map screen (which can alternatively be done with arrowkeys), and move waypoints and reference lines/circles you already placed. Otherwise, it's click-move-click.

It's also a lot of fun to control your U-boat by voice commands.

Nothing worse than when you have a brace of depth charges popping all around you and you're searching the keyboard or clicking through sub menus. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

A note of caution before you change anything...

Install the latest game patch, currently 1.2, and then make a backup of the entire data folder before making any changes.

Each time there is a new patch released you will probably need to restore the original files or the patch may not install.

Does anybody have a 'complete' list of the commands?? The keycard doesn't show the Screenshot, FPS, and some other commands that I'm trying to find...

I agree, there are some commands that I would like to have quick keyboard access to such as the deck gun and AA gun commands.

I must make sure that I do not click on 'surface attack' for a stealthy surface torpedo attack in calm seas because, if I do, the first thing I hear as the boat surfaces is my hyped-up deck gun crew blasting away any semblance of cover I had - even if you had the watch officer order them to 'hold fire' when leaving port. This is how an otherwise wonderfully crafted night convoy surprise attack got ruined by my gunners shooting off 88mm fireworks from my submarine deck!!! it kind of all went downhill from there...

Are there any 'hidden' or 'secondary' keyboard commands for these? Is there any way to map these commands? I am curious because, even though I agree that the mouse interface is very nicely done for most of the commands, gunnery oreders might be given out more quickly by keystroke...

Thanks for any info...
