so, i hate last stand, it's the lamest thing i've seen in a tom clancy game. don't get me wrong i still really enjoy playing scc just not last stand...but i wanted to get 100% achievment...so any tricks in last stand? could i just play the last five waves to complete it? which is better stealth or going crazy on last stand?

My friend and I used one gadget pouch and two armor upgrades. We went from wave 15-20 on realistic and would use up all of our 2ndary weapon ammo and just grab enemy weapons when we run out. Another trick we did was kill a guy then dual execute all of the guys near the bomb. Also, don't hold back at all. Use up all of your gadgets (prox mines and remote mines) on each wave, then fail the next wave if you feel you need those gadgets again, then restart on that wave. This saves you about an hour + of repetitive killing. If you're looking for that 1-20 without failing one, do it at mozdok on rookie, you can just spawn kill them in their clown closet.

And yeah, Last Stand is a disgrace to the Splinter Cell franchise. At least in the rest of the game you can try your best and pretend to be stealthy, but in last stand they defy the entire purpose of stealth by having you do a huge button mashing fire fest hoping you come out on top. It's a huge joke and doesn't even belong in the Splinter Cell game or anything to do with Tom Clancy for that matter.

Unfortunately, my friend and I discovered the best way to play last stand is how Ubisoft intended you to play. Go wild on them.

Can you explain where the stealth comes into play? It kills the entire purpose of what SC games are about: remaining stealthy and staying unknown. It's pretty much either let the bomb take ridiculous beatings at a time and stay undetected or have the enemies concentrate on you for the sake of the bomb. It's where people who love running and gunning can feel like Rambo and just blaze everything down without consequence (well, more so than the rest of the game anyway http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif). It's like trying to play a section of single player stealthily, spending 10+ minutes figuring out routes around the enemies. Then you realize it takes 10 seconds to just blast them all away with a prox mine and Scar.

In some respects it can be fun and requires skill, but it has no place alligning itself with the stealth genre.

EDIT: Another problem I have with it is it's a reverse objective game, where spies have to protect something while the mercs infiltrate the area. This was the only chance at a non-genocidal objective game type, and they give the spy's role to the thugs with flashlight guns.

I agree. I honestly think that ONE of the main reasons why Conviction is selling BRAND NEW FOR $41.99 @ Gamestop.com is because of the serious lack of stealth.
