I'd definitely like to see an ancestor of Malik in AC2. Doesn't matter if he's in Italy or the present. Malik was a really great character and the end of the game was a real surprise http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif He was my favorite ^^
What are your thoughts on this?
caswallawn_2k7

it would be a descendent not an ancestor.
Charlie_Romeo
09-18-2009, 03:53 PM
lol @ cas,but yeah i wouldnt bet on seeing a decendant of maliks he werent that gd a character in my opinion also im guessing he was left behind in Mysaf to re build the assassins

He was the only guy who shouted at Altair, so give the man some credit! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Did I REALLY write ancestor? I apologize, I meant descendant.

he shouted at his superiour, he should be punished in the appropriate mannor/
MartaVasques
09-18-2009, 04:06 PM
Altair was not his superior at the time. Besides, losing an arm because of his superior kinda give him the right to shout at him!
Or do you mean in the beginning of the game? Well, let’s just assume Altair had messed things up so many times Malik couldn’t stand him anymore…
Charlie_Romeo
09-18-2009, 04:08 PM
yeah i was talking about the begining lol but still he shouldnt of left the place alive athority was there for a reason in these times so i guess if you shout at a supirior you would be punished?
MartaVasques
09-18-2009, 04:10 PM
He was, if we want to think of it that way, by losing his arm. The disrespectfulness between the two ended up in a tragedy for both, which is kind of poetic justice, don’t you think?
Charlie_Romeo
09-18-2009, 04:14 PM
yeah i just think altair should of finished him, i dont like Malik do i? no no i do not lol, but i get what you are saying. I hope Ezio doesnt get some1 killed like his parents :|

Not in the military it doesn't! It doesn't matter WHAT youre commanding officer does, unless it traitorism or clearly breaking the ROE, u follow and do as he says even if he kills your brother and whatnot
MartaVasques
09-18-2009, 04:18 PM
Ehhh...What's ROE? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blush.gif

my guess is rules of engagement
Charlie_Romeo
09-18-2009, 04:20 PM
Rule of engament. silly things if u ask me but lets not get into politics.
MartaVasques
09-18-2009, 04:32 PM
Then, I guess endangering the lives of his brothers like Altair did could be considered as a good reason…
EmperorxZurg
09-18-2009, 04:52 PM
ya the ROE are very complex at times, but ya, in this case it was a necessary loss in order to complete the assigned mission, if Malik speaks out, Malik gets acquainted with that hangman's noose REAL quick

Al Mualim yelled at Altair plenty of times.
Speaking of which, do you think Al Mualim will make an appearance or at least be referred to? Like how his voice echoed from the POE at the end of AC1?

Him and Vidic look a lot alike. I don't think it would be unreasonable to assume that his descendants entered the Brotherhood in the same manner that Altair's entered the Assassins.

Well, there's a slight problem.
I don't think Assassins were allowed to children (or at least not master assassins), and by the time we see al mualim in the game, he is OLD. And then he dies.
And Malik is missing an arm. There goes his sex life.

Plus, considering Altair killed an innocent and endangered the Brotherhood (and straight out of Al Mualim's mouth, that makes Altair a traitor), he violated the rules of engagement and the creed.
Yell away, Malik! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

My point was that he probably never had babies, which implies he doesn't have any descendants. Which answers the question of this thread.
But as a character, I liked him way more than stupid Altair. (braces for attack for calling Altair stupid)

I don't think that it wasn't allowed. It was probably just inadvisable. If an assassin is going to go out often and risk their life it doesn't seem wise to be leaving a family behind.
EDIT:

C'mon guys, several of the Informers claimed they had wives and children.
And I'm pretty sure the Informers were Assassins too considering they often had Altair do their Assassinations for them (those lazy twits) and I think at least one mentioned living in Masyaf.
LaurenIsSoMosh
09-19-2009, 04:24 PM
Of course they weren't Assassins. They cried about twisted ankles, hurt backs, and the mild heat every chance they got. And they were all so terrible at getting caught and then having to run away from the guards, which always resulted in you either having to kill the witnesses or clean up all the flags they spilled. Definitely not Assassin material. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Not to mention getting scared of a real Assassin...

Maybe informers were like ex-Assassin's that had been too inferior to be promoted, then grew old, so they were of no use whatsoever. Which explains the constant complaining/cowardice.

How would they replenish their ranks then?
Aside from that, I really hope Malik (his descendants) graces AC2 in some form or another.

They're probably just low-ranking assassin.
Course, then again, we're used to Altair, who is the most badass of all the assassins, so we kind of expect all the others to be the same

you think that all Assassins are just sons of previous Assassins? Heh, no.

they most certainly have children. There is a nearly 1000 year linage of assassins. Most recently, Desmond was born at an assassin enclave in North America.
The informers are probably not assassins, they are likely just spies.

Of course, the most plausible answer is that they take out advertisements in the local newspapers to recruit new Assassins.
