If EndWar wants to be a Top Game for the Next Gen Consoles then its needs to beat out C&C3 in every way, I think they need a way where you can almost put a personality into the soldiers, comment on other things that EndWar could do to make it better than C&C3 or the upcoming game after it HaloWars

It needs to take logistics into account, in most RTS games your solders have unlimited ammo, so they can operate even when totally cut off. I say you should have to send trucks or hummers with ammo to those troops (or if they are cut off maybe send a helicopter with the supplies they need), it would add another element of strategy to the game, you could get a team in behind enemy lines and get them to take out the ammo trucks not only would it stop frontline units from getting ammo (which would force them to pull back) it would also force the enemy to send units to the rear to defend their supply lines. Also, as one side advances their supply lines become longer so it takes longer to get supplies to the front, meanwhile the other side's supply lines have become shorter. Maybe you could have one of those upgrades for the troops the ability to carry more ammo so they don't need to be supplied as often.

As time wears on, I'm starting to develop some doubts..

For one, I do not think logistics will come into play for a game as streamlined and anti-micromanaging as this..

Two, the soldiers will have personalities, so to speak. It has been mentioned, that hardcore, ball-swinging grunts that survived previous battles, will recall those epic fights in future conflicts. When you think about that, it sounds pretty cool. If you have the rare ability to constantly lead your men into meat-grinders, the greenbloods that replace them will have nothing to talk about. But, keep your men alive, and they'll bark about past fights and probably add some reason as to why to keep them alive.

On a side note about supply, a game I played called World War two online was all about interdicting the enemy's resupply.

Before we would lay siege to german towns, me and other armchair commanders made sure that the town was cutoff from other towns that would have players driving tanks, troops, anti tank guns, and other things to it, in the event the targeted town was running low on equipment for players to use in it's defense. This tactic proved one for the books, as it made sieges shorter (instead of fighting over a town for hours on end, it would usually go down within 1 or 2 hours of continuous fighting).

If you decided not to have cutoff units in place before attacking a town, you were shooting yourself in the foot, as more players would head to rear towns and bring in fresh tiger tanks to fortify their position within the said town, under siege.

While I doubt battles in Endwar will be that demanding and complex in nature, we have yet to see what UBI has to offer us.

there whould be a third view beyond the field view. You should be able to play as a commanding soldier. If you die it isnt over because your army hasnt been defeated so you move to the second in command on the battlefield who becomes the first in command. ITs not complex since its just like graw. But it adds a whole new element to kick C&C3's ***.

your probably right, I just think it would be better if logistics was taken into account,

plus command vehicles could be objectives...take out the command vehicle with artillery and the other side is effectively crippled...but then what's to say I can't just bum rush your little command truck with an RAH-66 and just end the game...I'm assuming the command truck might be just the "eyes and ears" of your army. i.e. fry the command truck and the enemy can't access recon data via satellite or drone...

Then how can you go from command view down to soldier view without leaving you command vehicle. What I was trying to say was that you could go from being a general to a captain that calls more specific orders and gets in the fight.

but that's exactly what the game isn't... you're a general not a squad leader. Look at Ghost Recon 2, you are viewing your squad mates through cameras...a gimmick this game will probably use...i.e. using a camera attached to your troops to be able to multi-task etc.

this isn't a FPS, you aren't going to be getting into the fight

I know it isnt an fps. I was just saying that it would be cool if the game was a kind of hybrid. Anyway Im thinking about opening a thread about biblicaal misinterpretations. Because in the bible the horemen of war bringing a world war and armegedon are actually different events.

Don't you people get it? Because Tiberium Wars has an EA and a C&C sticker on it, everybody wants to buy it. Pretty much whatever Ubisoft does with this game is going to make it better than C&C, end of story. The problem is, there are too many ******s out there who wouldn't know a good RTS if the CD slit their throat.

And, what's the problem with Halo Wars. I know that a bunch of ******s are going to be buying it because it's got a Halo stamp on it, but I've been following it, and it seems to be pretty good.

I'm not that much of a Halo fan, so you can't throw that one back at me. And, I plan on buying both EndWar and Halo Wars.

I think he was just saying that EndWar will have to compete with them. I think EndWar will do good because like you said with name recognition, alot of people who normally would'nt buy an rts will because of the Tom Clancy name.

i don't know if that 3rd person shooter view will be good or not, what if we want to see ALL of those beautiful explosions in fully destructible environments, and I'm worried that this will turn into something like battlefront where it just churns down to a kill fest with the unit your controlling if you can control them instead of directing them, personally i prefer directing them

another problem would be that many people would just start playing this as a shooter and forget to command the rest of their men,

that should not be hard... C&C is a good game but people ive played on xbox live only use wave and wave of tanks there is no need for stratagy plus the maps are so small
