I have the following glitch with the latest drivers and the previous version:

http://www.magnum50.us/images/SH3%20Clipping2.jpg

I am running:

WinXP PRO
P4 3.4C
Nvidia 6800GT 256MB
1Gb Corsair XMS PC3700
ASUS P4C800E-Deluxe

Any help and/or pointers are appreciated.

Thank you.

I heard this in at least 3 instances of the exact same bug:

Save, Reboot, Restart game

They said it goes away. Can't confirm myself; this seems to be not related to video card type (as both ATI and Nvidia people get it)

I have had the game for less than 2 hours. My first impression was bad when I loaded the Museum mode.

I was presented with the same bug as shown above.

My specs:

AMD 64 4000+
MSI K8N Neo 4 Platinum SLI
1024 mb Corsair XMS DDR dual channel mode
EVGA 6800 Ultra 256 ( 71.84 ) latest WHQL
SB live gamer 5.1 latest drivers
Lite on DVD ROM read only

I immediately reduced particles to 90 and exited game and restarted. Fixed the bug totally and from what I read about the UZO/Periscope bug thought I would check that too.

With Particles 100 had both bugs, particles 90 no bugs.

So try that.

Oh and the default 1024x768 leaves lots of resource headroom so to improve the looks I laid on 4x AA and 4x AF, looks a heck of a lot better.

Wow that is wild looking.. I have just about the same settings and I am not seeing that what do you have your Video card settings set to??

I am running a PCI express Nvidia XFX 6800GT 256Mb Card, ASUS P5AD2-E Premium Mobo with a P3.4 and a Gig of Geil RAM, and I never saw anything like that!

My settings are for my video card are as follows.
(From the nvidia screen)
Performance& Quality Settings:
Antialiasing 2X
Antiostropic: off
Image settings: Quality
Vertical Sync:Application Controled

Perhaps you have a setting set to high or low??
Are you overclocking your Vid Card??

I have a simular bug, even with particles reduced to 0, If I use the UZO It works great looking behind the sub and to the 3 and 9 o'clock positions, as soon as I look toward the front it goes white out like if you looked at the Sun with binoculars, If I stop the boat then everything is ok. this looks like a cross between sun refelection and ocean spray but it is gone way out of proportion and will have to be patched.

I found a fix, just turn off v-sync and set ansio to 0

I have the same problem. I found out though that when I put the DVD in and use the play button that appears in the box that ask you if you want to play or install etc, the graphics are fine. If I use the executable that's placed in the menu by the game, the graphics look as above.I believe they have a really screwed up executable in the main game folder http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Has anyone confirmed the several fixes users have posted above?

I can confirm that starting from the DVD works. None of the other solutions had any effect for me (though I wasn't able to try turning AF off because I haven't figured out how with Catalyst 5.3.)

I'm a P4-2.4, 1gig, ATI 9800 Pro user.

Whoever noticed the 'play off the dvd' solution: thank you so very much.

All I have is the UZO bug, with a 6600GT and the DVD thing dont fix it.
