My dream job is and always has been to be part of a team making video game. I went to a technical high school and took 3D Animation/CAD Drafting. I learned the basics of drafting and became a Ceritified Mechanical Draftsman during my time there. We used 3DS Max and AutoCAD and a little bit of inventor. I was looking for some advice for going through college. I wanted to take Engineering(leaning towards Mechanical) so I could have two possible career paths, but am unsure of how useful if at all it will be to a video game career. I was hoping that someone could provide me with some knowledge, and maybe some tips.

There's some good information scattered through the great long thread at this link: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...1054957/m/9001049477 (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/4811054957/m/9001049477)
You may find the comments on this site useful: http://www.360gametesters.com/
It can also be helpful to go through the job descriptions and pre-requisites for vacancies currently advertised in the games industry, you can see Ubi's careers page here (click) (https://sjobs.brassring.com/1033/ASP/TG/cim_advsearch.asp?partnerid=25314&siteid=5290) and it shouldn't be too hard to find the careers pages for other publishers/developers with a good search engine.
