Butter ON silk tastes the best, and is smoothest of them all.

The game runs at a framerate between 25-40fps it seems. There are times when you notice the framerate bogging down just a tad but it never effects gameplay and for the most part runs very nicely. Btw, I'm typing about the 360 version.

You can't even trust IGN anymore. After trying to review games they haven't even played couple weeks ago now to changing their review comments on AC. Sorry for all PS3 owners but yes their are problems with frame rate on PS3 version.

Taken from gameblogs UGO and mentioned on CAGcast cheapassgamer.com

Here Read it for yourself:

This is from the current review:
"These big open worlds, which are fully interactive, do come at a cost. There is considerable texture pop-in and occasional framerate hiccups. None of this deters from the gameplay though, so it is forgivable."

Now the original:
"These big open worlds, which are fully interactive, do come at a severe cost on PS3. There is considerable texture pop-in and noticeable framerate issues. Playing back-to-back with the 360 version, it's obvious that Ubisoft did not devote enough resources to the PS3 edition. The framerate is considerably worse, so much so that it begins to affect gameplay in the later levels. You can get through the first two-thirds of Assassin with the framerate being just an annoyance, but it becomes more of an issue for the final third of the missions."

So one is saying it does affect gameplay and one doesn't. Completely different. But didn't other review site say PS3 did have better framerate? IGN went back and reverted their comment saying shorter is for 360 review and simply copy and paste error.

Ps3 framerate sucks. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

It need to be fixed, when we have guards and a lot of animation, the frame rate drops drastically. The freeflow and gameplay really gets affected by that.

It makes the races challenges and catching thieves a total frustration.

Avoid the ps3 version.

Here's a good video comparison (Game trailers comparisons suck)

I'm running my game on 720... even so.

Look the game doesnt run as perfect as unchrted 2 does but is playable.
To say the truth im dissapointed about this cause it has worse grafics than uncharted 2 and it runs even worse.
But as soon as you havent play Dragon age origins for ps3 you cant talk about frame rate slow downs.

I played dragon age origins for ps3 which is real dissapointment about the frame rate and back to assassins creed 2 i thought it was nice.

Looks like consoles are at their very end we need something more powerfull.

But what i really think is that companies are using heavy engines to create games cause they dont have money or they dont want to spent some for better engines.
And we are the fools who buy their silly products to get sth very average.

I say go to hell and especially EA together with bioware and its slow heavy grafic engines which are a total dissapointment.

i dont want a next gen just yet. the more expensive games are to make the shorter they tend to become.

Yes for me, I do find the framerate problem. (XBOX 360) Mostly in the city while running into a crowd, or rotating the camera view while Ezio is standing still in the city. The running part is just terrible, almost like every time Ezio runs, there will be the "memory" thing going on.

Since many 360 gamers did not have such problem, would any setting helps??

Are you kidding? There are constant frame skips when riding a horse, and Free-Running. They aren't bad and go smoothly more than less, but there are still constant frame skips every, now and then. And it isn't just me, all people I know have this problem. It won't affect gameplay, however.

@above Many did have this problem. In-fact those
who deny it, are in Denial, that their favorite game has some flaws.

I think there are framerate issues on my 360 as well. Nothing major or game breaking but this game is not nearly as smooth as the first two for me either - running and fast camera turns will drop frames for me.

I play on PS3 (about 20 hours of single player), and I've never had any frame rate issues! Maybe it's only certain copies of the game that are negatively affected?

Maybe i'm a little bit crazy, but I played Assassin's Creed II a few weeks ago (to get the platinum before brotherhood), and just recently finished Brotherhood and I could swear that the frame rate was way better in Brotherhood.

In II, it felt laggy most of the time, but in Brotherhood it felt smooth most of the time.

Im playing it on my PS3 and when I free run/ horse ride/ chase etc etc through the centre of Rome the framerate is absolutely dismal, it detracts from the gameplay for sure. Then add in the horrible pop in and that ugly white gradient issue and you'd wonder why Ubisoft even bothered to say that the PS3 version would be on a par with the 360 version. 360 owners are lucky.

How it got through testing phase like this is pathetic.

Believe it or not when I play online it runs silky smooth! But I bought this game for the singleplayer and Im a very dissapointed customer.

A poorly developed, glorified expansion for AC2 is what this game feels like to me.

Rant over!

Or maybe you just aren't actively noticing the issues. Look for the framerate problems, and you will surely see it.

As for me, I've been getting lots of framerate issues when in large crowds or areas where there are lots of surrounding buildings. I find that as I venture out into the more rural areas of Rome the framerate gets better (as is expected). Playing on PS3.

Yeah, same exact thing for me, I'm experiencing lag when theres tons of people around and it lags alot when I'm in the center district >< Very annoying.. I wish this was fixed but unfortunately this is only happening to a few people..so I don't know, it may or may not be patched

I am glad I'm not the only one suffering that. I noticed it flickers even when the camera is on a NPC talking while talking to Ezio, may be he/she is moving the head, walking a few steps... etc. What a spoil to such a great game!!

Any chance they made that on purpose as some kind of effect?

I experience low frame rates in my PS3 when run with EZIO in the Rome City. And i see the horrible gray-layer in the upper-middle of the screen both, in outdoor or indoor scenes.
Please UBISOFT make a patch for these issues.
Thanks

Framerate is just terrible. Assassin's creed 2 was way way way better. Wall running doesn't feel fun anymore. Just ruins the entire experience. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif

.... and even when the camera pans during the cut scene. really wondered if they made that intentionally to match those memory effect.
