ms are building a gigantic white plastic floating island/ battleship with which they will crush all who oppose their rule.

.....or they're just going to make new 360s out of teh corpses...the circle of life continues.

See, if you were smart enough to purchase the extended warranty from the store you got it from there would be no issue. Simply walk back into store and get a brand new console in the span of 5 minutes. Although there is a so called shortage of 360 consoles according to microsoft so you might be out of luck anyway.

The process of getting the 360 fixed isn't that bad. You get a box and you send the broken unit back. Then in 3-4 weeks you get a new one. If you call now and get the repair process set up you should have a new conosle in say 5 weeks at the most.

*Hehe, I have a little theory that each 360 has a tiny camera in it and it has a certain amount of film. When the film expires the 360 unit red rings and the unit goes to ms research and developement department. The footage is then studied and used to produce future games and information shared in the marketing of said games. I hope that's not true because then those people would get a good look at my weiner. See sometimes I'll put on pajama pants if it's late at night and my johnson has a tendancy to flop out at odd times. Once when I signed for a package it just flopped out. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Of course that's not as bad as a lingering after affect of my head injury that destroyed my short term memory so I often forget to zip my fly and end up walking around with it down. Can't people have the decency to say hey your fly is down. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Agreed. Best Buy in particular has treated us well. The warranty is simple. Put it back in the box. Take it in. They look in it to see all the components are there. Throw it over thier shoulder and give you a brand new one. Absolutely no questions asked. Takes 15 minutes and your on your way. With this, I could care less if 20 boxes blew up on me. As long as they will shove another one my way.

This actually depends on where you live. I thankfully live in Texas so when mine died I sent in my Xbox on a Thursday and i got it back on Monday.

I just went to Gamestop and bought a new one. Best Buy only had Elites. And I will send the busted one in and sell it or something. I am too impatient and have enough disposable income that this wasn't too big a deal. So... anyone want to buy a 360 in 5-8 weeks?

Depends on where you got it. I got mine at Costco, and it broke after 8 months. So I brought it back to the store and got a full refund. Now I have the Elite and hope that it will last longer than 8 months, but if not, I'll bring it back to the store to get a new one again. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
