Hi All,

Recent posts suggest disabling a feature in Open GL (Scotty_EAF_602) to help against the game slowing and spurting and stuff when theres a lot going on screen. I've found my plane simply falling out of the sky at times :-O

Well I'll certainly give the fix proposed a go later, but I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions?

My PC is quite fast (AMD XP 2400+, 780mb ddr pc2700, GF4 64mb X8 AGP on WinXP Pro and I have all the latest software updates I can think of)
Which is why I'm puzzled over it having any problems at all!

I thought about lowering resolution, and pulling back the graphics detail, but I've spent a fortune on my PC, so it pains me greatly to lose the visual feast if theres alternatives.

What other things have ppl tried to get the game running smoothly?

When I do a 'Quick Mission', where theres about 8 aircraft on screen max then everything flows beautifully.
It's just I'm up to Kursk now and the battles are quite intensive and its frustrating as hell to see things jerking and stalling all the time!

Please HELP Me!!!

Well, strictly speaking, jerking and stalling are two completely different things. "Falling out of the sky" would definitely not be related to bad software, but might possibly be attributed to correct modeling in the software.

You may want to repost with more specific concerns, ie, how excactly are you falling out of the sky? If you pull a corner too tightly, and drop a wingtip, and then spiral out of control with gravity pulling you earthward, then you have just been introduced to proper flight modeling, because if you do that in a real plane, the same thing will happen.

If you are experiencing slow FPS (jerking) then you may want to enable 'fps SHOW START' or use a third-party FPS counter, and share more explicit details on why the stuttering should not be happening.

But the two are not related, and you should define and expound on the two separately.
