PS3s are not region locked. So you can play the game just fine no matter what region you get it from. For DLC you will need A PSN account that matched the region of the disc you bought. So in this case you need a US account if you want to buy any DLC that may be released.

Hi,

can we get confirmation from an admin that the game will work (on xbox360)if purchased outside of the US via amazon?

Thanks
SS

Admin confirmation for running games outside of the region they where sold in? I highly doubt you will find that on any console game forum.

But from what I understand the Xbox 360 games are region locked. So you need a console from the same region as the game.

Well even a 'no it won't work' would be fine http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Why is it so difficult to get simple information like that?

I just read up that xbox360 is NTSC in USA, but PAL here (South Africa), so I will need to wait. Which sucks.

Not if you are running HDMI or digital. PAL/NTSC are analog formats. But the region locking still applies to XBox.

Ah. A quick search seems to indicate that game publishers decide if XBox 360 games are region locked. But considering we are dealing with a game that includes licensed music. I'd say there is a good chance they did lock it down.

Also this comment was posted on the Rocksmith Facebook wall:

Hi Rocksmith Fans-
As many of you know, Rocksmith will not be available in Europe until 2012. This is due to music licensing and other external factors.
For those of you in Europe who plan to import the game, we want to advise you to do so at your own risk. Here's some information that may help you with your decision:

-The XBOX 360 version of the game is region locked.
-The PS3 version of the game is not region locked, but doesn't support PAL.
-The PSN store is region locked, and therefore you will not be able to download DLC outside of your region.

Please know that we are working hard to ensure that everyone in Europe can get their hands on Rocksmith as soon as possible! Thanks for the continued support!
