They should put in signal lamps on the conning tower of the boats so to coordinate an attack like talking to a german cruser stalking an unescorted, unarmed convoy of merchants. You would say chase them south while I get in position to attack with torpedos. He would say can I sink one to show i am a threat to them? You say Yes but only sink one and after I fire my torpedos just shoot.
But put in the signal lamps please http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I se what you say, but no way in hell i would use anything that could give me away....escort is not the only problem.....convoy speed if they know you are there, on surface....do a ship have a gun......way to many if`s for me to be worth flashing light lol... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Hey ZG10 you wouldn't be on the convoys tail you would be a good 10000 yards away so they cant see you http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

An aircraft could easily see it however. Especially at night.

true but thats why you have AIR RADAR! that works 24-7 so you could dive if you get a contact and when it passes start flashing the signal

lol. radar comes only after 1941 (FuMO 29 Seetakt) and its a cheap one you can find in the SH4 u-boote addon.
I don't know what will be the starting date of the game but if the game starts in 1938 you'll have no radars.
but still its a nice Idea to have a flashing signal so you can warn alone ships to leave the ship so you'll be able to sink it without killing anyone.
the thing I hope to find is that you'll be able to commission your own u-boot! I would like to commission my favorite one, the u-333 :P
BTW you can find all useful info at www.u-boat.net (http://www.u-boat.net)
Check out for my favorite commander, Peter-erich cremer, who commanded the u-333 :P

I think it would be too risky to use in combat -especially at night, when an enemy escort easily could see you.. eventhough you are 10000 yards away
