a) you could turn off your hud completly, no red diamonds,no ammo indicator, no anything.

b) if you could do the above they could have diffrent things to substitue for them ie to check your ammo level in your clip press a button to take the cartrige out then face it towards your face so you can see approx how many bullets are in it. and you have a portible realtime map thing taht works in coordination with the drones for a map. i think that would be really cool

Regards the HUD, well here's the nearest official answer we could get:

Depending on what happens in-game, the HUD adapts and changes, to give you more Intel if that's what you need, and more view, if that's what you need.

So, I would say no, you can't customize it, but the game will do it for you automatically when required. The red diamonds, well you will be allowed to choose whether you want this or not, but again, you might just find that they have more use than you'd expect.

Dunno about PC but on 360 you can turn off all the diamonds and stuff.

You will be able to turn off the red diamonds on the PC version too.

But....you may just find them useful.
