Help Picking Up Weapons

I am still on Sequence 1, just running around collecting things, but I know I am supposed to be able to pick up weapons from dead guards so I have been trying to pick up a sword from a dead guards but there is no option to pick up the weapon...can anybody help?

I can loot and pickup the body I just can't get their weapon

You need to progress further in the story. I'm pretty sure you will be able to do it at sequence 3.

Well I continued playing (now on Sequence 5) and I can pickup weapons now for the most part. I went into the training ground area and went through all the tutorials...maybe that unlocked it similar to the sand throw. In any case I got the strategy guide from a friend and they say that pickup weapon is available from sequence 1, apparently it was a typo
