View Full Version : Did Not Know About DVD Being Required
System is up to playing this fine, and run most at 1900x1200 res on 20 inch monitor. I made the mistake of pre-ordering from UBI and still have not received the game even though it shows it shipped on the 15th with the two day Fedex. Lesson learned there, but I did not have the box in front of me to read of the DVD requirement. Do not remember seeing it in the only pre-release review I read. Now my question is this, what is a good DVD player and the price? Hope I do not go through all this just to find all the other problems I am reading about on here waiting for me.
Thanks

Aopen, Creative, Sony,
anywhere from 35 to 55 bucks should cover it. Try http://compusa.com just to check prices.
Hey, I pre-odered too. Last time I do that from any game publisher. My guess is they have not shipped yet, no charge has show up on my card and that happens when it ships, usually that is the case. Don't mean to be a doom and gloomer but if we don't see it tomorrow, it will be Tuesday, unless you cancel and buy it from a store.
Thanks Lt, have a question. Dont know much about the DVD players. Can I get a DVD player that still allows me to burn my cd's and crw's too? Starting to think this game might be more trouble than it is worth.
Thanks
P.S UBI has charged my card days ago, thinking about trying a refund since no tracking # yet.

To answer your first question yes. But don't do it. You will have less trouble if you use two drives. One is a playback dvd/cdrom and the second would be a cdr/rw. Dvd burners cost a lot.
Thanks Lt,
So I keep my cd-rom/burner, and just add a DVD player in the other open bay?
I added a second hard drive awhile back, but should be ok for another drive I would guess.
Man, a lot to play this game...

Well I guess I should have said they cost more than a cdr/rw. Use two drives, one made for playback only. Less trouble with copy protection that way.
