All I got for my birthday was...

Wait, actually, my birthday was AWESOME.

I got mini Key Lime Pies (HEAPS of them), and I got to lay siege to a bouncy castle full of children I didn't know (the best kind to attack with foam padded weapons).

Even the children we attacked enjoyed my birthday. Their parents, not so much, but that's what made it so fun. And they calmed down when we stopped targeting the kids and fought one another in front of them (putting on a free show for the children's party makes up for a lot of terrorising, apparently).

I have a selection of foam padded, wooden and metal weapons. I'm no longer with the re-enactment club I trained with a few years back, so I don't use my metal re-enactment sword much any more, and mostly stick to the safer option of the padded weapons. The wooden ones do come out occasionally though.

Sucks that your laws are too strict though - in NZ you're allowed to display things within the house. You're only in trouble when you have them outside. Or in your car or something.

I know a guy who moved to Australia and had trouble with his weapons - he ended up having to get a licence for them. Was about 5 years ago now, not sure if that's changed.

The law applies in Victoria only, so far as I know, and is due to two psychos with katana...

One attacked a police car, as one does, apparently.

The other threatened the general public on one of Melbourne's main streets.


So the powers that be brought in laws that required, at the time, either a licence or an exemption (through being a member of Knives Australia).
Apparently the exemption is no longer valid.
And my swords - battle ready or not - can't be transported in view, and must be kept in a locked metal box.

Ironically, I got AC:B for the PS3 because I have had so many problems in the past with my 360 (the "Open Tray" issue and RRoD) and that Copernicus exclusive tempted me just enough.

But I'm regretting that. Lately I've had "JET ENGINE FAN NOISE" from the PS3, and now these PSN issues are starting to annoy. It doesn't help that I go mental trying to switch between the different button layouts in AC:B on the PS3 and 360 controllers! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif AC:B will probably be the last cross-platform game I get for the PS3 given the choice.

Compleated Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time finally today. It was ok game but fighting was horrible. Fight scenes were way too long IMO.

Neah, fighting is not that good in SoT. But everything else is awesome, specially the soundtrack and atmosphere.

Yeah, it's to bump up the challenge now that you have defeated N.

Also, finding the Seven Sages is easy provided you use a guide. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

You'll need Waterfall for one though.

I had super difficulties to beat the 2nd trainer on that route. I only have level 50 Pokemon right now. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif
But at least I got over 5000 EXP points, I never had anything beyond 3500 in Crystal. I guess I'll just have to train more before continuing. The lucky egg item is useful though. I hope I can get over 10000 EXP points one day...

I agree with obliviondoll. I've had a bunch of games freeze on me...for example, just last night I had Dead Space Extraction freeze on me toward the end of a chapter. Had to turn off the game and reload everything and then play the chapter again. I was already tired so it kind of made me extra grumpy but oh well. If you're PS3 freezes a dozen times in the first year, then maybe. If you live somewhere with good consumer protection laws, then a console that dies within a year should be replaced whether you have a warranty or not.

Basically, in New Zealand, a standard 1 year warranty gives you a piece of paper that offers no protection you don't already have by law anyway. Lucky us.

After about 5 full console freezes (had to unplug it to turn it off), bad connections, terrible hosts, and everybody on the other teams running around with either OMA Danger Close noob tubes or Last Stand (snipers worst enemy), I've had enough of this game for now.

Well, I just recently watched a report about a crime or something like that. There was a group of people who kidnapped a bank owners daughter, strapped fake dynamite to her, and made the bank owner rob her own bank. All of them were arrested and brought to trial. There were 3 guys, none of them said anything, all were convicted to life in prision. There was a woman who blatantly said in a recorded interrogation that she participated in the crime, she gets cleared of all charges. The icing on the cake? They only recovered about 1/3rd of what was stolen, and they don't know where the rest of the money went or who took it (gee, maybe you should ask the chick who confessed to kidnapping and robbing a bank but still got to walk scott free). I swear I'm slivers away from losing my faith in humanity.

Totally agreed! Very impressed that she has no qualms with self-satire at her age. Some teenagers struggle with lack of confidence, and she appears to have done OK.
