They could've just been leading you on. I stand with my back to a group that I know my target is in, but the camera facing them. When they walk out to stun me: BAM

You should have to turn right before they come in range of the stun. If you are paying attention, you would still get the kill.

what is counter stun. there is stun and kill. you mean you meant to stun and you gotya self killed? that is how the game is setup. stun requires extra craftiness (or smoke)

I understood, I was just saying if you could not counter stuns coming from the back, you could still turn and "BAM" same out come. This way the players that don't pay as much attention as you would get stunned instead of a lucky frantic kill.

Spy vs Merc was an awesome Splinter Cell Vs mode in Chaos Theory. Super stealth game.

Counter stun is when both stun and assassinate were pressed at the same time, when this happens assassinate always wins and you get the counter animation and you die

There's a very tight window for stun countering when it's from behind.

It's easier to counter from in front.

If you're countered from behind, it's usually because the person was actually keeping an eye on you, or you gave yourself away to them before you were close enough to make the stun.

I wouldn't mind this being removed, but I don't have too much of a problem with it either, because it helps prevent lag-switchers getting away with cheap stuns. Not that it helps much, but it's worth keeping in mind.

They did design this aspect of the game for a reason though, and stuns are MEANT to be less powerful than assassinations.
