I need to pay to be an explorer? That doesn't seem fair, since alot of players won't have credit cards, and even if they do, it's just a rip-off. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif Is there any way arround this?

Hé, Toz, it is not a rip-offhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif it is a business. It costs money to make games. So it is normal to pay.
The rip-off is that Gametap only excepts credit-cards. (and for non-USA/ Canadaian residents it is a rip-off that they either can't get in at all or have to pay the same fee but don't get access to the many other games on Gametap.)
But sollutions have been found, besides playing the limited visitor option.
Some people have used their debitcard to pay. Maybe someone around you has a card and is willing to help. Check around at the MOUL-forum for this.
Hope you can find a sollution too.

Why do you believe anyone should be able to play an MMO like Uru Live for free? Cyan has always intended for Uru Live to be a constantly growing, ever-expanding, never-ending, online, multi-player adventure. That kind of thing needs to be supported financially somehow.

And it will be, the same way other online MMO's are... by monthly subscriptions.

(Should anyone be able to play World of Warcraft or Star Wars Galaxies for free? I'm not sure what your logic is.)

As far as MMO's go, Uru Live is a bargain. For $9.95 a month (or even as low as $6.95 if you pay for a year), you get Uru Live AND 844 other games. (My understanding is that UbiSoft was going to charge $14.95 a month for Uru Live the first time around.)

Well, I'm sure that I can't be an explorer, then, because I don't know anyone who'd be willing to pay for me to use URU Live. At least, not via credit-card, anyway. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Some banks may issue prepaid charge cards. You give them money and they issue you a "no credit" card. It just gives you access to your money. But it still works like a credit card. You might check to see if you can get something like that. Good luck.

I agree that it is important for us to pay for Uru Live, as we want Cyan Worlds to thrive, and to be able to provide us with a continuing flow of story and cool ages to explore.

Uru is my favorite Myst game and I have always wanted Uru Live. I don't have a credit card of any type and am too young to get a job. My parents say they won't pay for it. Even if I could manage to get a small job. I couldn't keep it constant and flowing with money! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif We'll maybe when I'm older.
