the religion thread evolved quite nicely but i was caught by surprise by two stories on ghosts one of them including double witnesses which almost rules out hallucination

so im interested to hear more stories that give some hope of seeing back our loved ones, here it goes mine:

my father told me i had been talking french while sleeping, he even could understand something of what i said, the thing is i dont speak a word of french

Well, it`s very hard to call ghost sightings `proof` in the normal sense of the word. I know I saw `something`...

There was even a later time (when i was 25ish) that i saw a lady in a large black 18th century dress just outside of a museum. when i asked about her a bit later, they said there wasn`t any lady in fancy dress outside or anywhere, but she was most probably the ghost. I was shocked.

I look every time I pass by now, but never ever see her.
A joke? true? i dunno. I know what I saw.

Buddhism considers ghosts to be those beings who are 'stuck' between existences..... having died from their human birth, but unable to take rebirth where their karma should lead them. This is either because they are greatly attached to a place or person or belongings, or they have died suddenly and perhaps do not know they are dead.
If a person does not believe in any afterlife, then upon dying he will be sort of stuck, until he begins to realise that there is still some kind of existence.... and eventually, although maybe after a very long time, he will be reborn according to where his karma takes him.
Both living beings and objects vibrate at different frequencies and so the traditional; ideas that heaven is up and hell is down are wrong. They actually exist all around us but we are unable to percieve them.
Many thousands of radio stations broadcast and the air surrounding us is filled with these, but only my getting a radio set and tuning in to the correct frequency are we able to percieve the broadcasts.
By emotions or meditation etc. we can alter our rate of frequency enough to percieve beings in other realms or ghosts, especially if there is a relationship which could cause some sympathetic co-ordination.
And beings in other realms can sometimes alter their frequency to allow us to become aware of them too.

Yes, I have a much easier time with Dative and Accusative case when I am lit up... Also, I suddenly can remember a whole lot more vocabulary..

As for ghosts..

Don't count on it..

Even where two people claim to have seen the same thing.. More often that not one thought they saw something and the other is joining them in the hallucination to avoid being left out. If you want to experiment with this phenomenon go to a public seance... At some point claim that you heard something that you in fact did not hear. Now, count how many other folks suddenly agree to hearing the same thing, or variations on it. Once folks are convinced that something out of the ordinary is going on they will escalate the claims as well.

Also, certain kinds of ghost stories develop their own momentum. Spend some time riding cabs in Chicago... It wont be long before you meet a driver that knows a guy who knows a guy that picked up a fair and when they got to the destination ( usually a graveyard is involved ) the car was empty.

once astrally projected to a girlfriend's house and accidentally possessed the guy she was seeing at the time. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif We had a hell of a time having out of this world mind blowing sex and when he woke up he didn't remember a damn thing. She told me he look mighty confused after. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Oddly enough I sometimes dream in Spanish, thought I cannot speak it. I once got tucked in at night at boarding school by my long dead mum (didn't sleep in that bed again) and there was a street light in York that always went off when I walked past it (the Mrs is a witness to this). Beyond that, if this is it, well thanks for the ride, but I suspect this isn't it.

Btw I didn't get fair credit for my out of body astral sex performance even though the guy was just along for the "ride" and I was doing all the work so I never did it ever again.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Don't want anyone taking credit where credit isn't due.. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

BTW I have ESP also but I try never to encourage it. Believe me it isn't a gift.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I think it`s the fact that raaiid`s thread got mauled to death in very much the same way a fluffy kitten might`ve been under the jaws of several brutal Rottweillers.

years ago I did a excellent demonstration of telekinesis.

As I explained back then telekinesis is moving an object by will alone. I then asked someone in the room to pass me a beer. They did, and I then explained that I did not have to lift a finger to get the beer to come to me.

The rest of that night is kind of a blur..
