authentic causeway

It's almost to point of not being fun.Of all levels NOT to have grenades!! Out of at least 100+ xs trying- I made it to the end of the causeway once. Then I was with 1 man who was severely wounded. We both died. I've tried running,leapfrogging,supressing,sending 1 team, sending 2 teams,sniping,going high,going low,killing one german per pair,killing both,zigzagging,crouching,using Cole for cover and on and on. I'm ready to use the dvd-rom as a skeet target.....

Jager. That level was really tough. It took me probably 20 times until I THINK I figured out what is necessary.
1. There are basically 3 "hot" areas where the Germans hit you from.
2. Have your teams suppress the 2 areas on the right.
3. Snipe the third group of Germans, which is off to your left quite a bit.
4. Run like hell to the second area of cover.
5. You can snipe the 2 right "hot" areas. Then, when the Germans reman the 3rd (leftmost) site, snipe them again.
6. Run like hell to the next cover.

Alternatively, after making it to the next cover,you can snipe the 2nd and 3rd sites and then order a team to come to you. They should make it.

Anyway...thats what I did. The key is to get that leftmost site(snipe) and run while its being remanned.

Is this the level where the Germans are across the river (SPOILER): right before you get bombed?

If so I actually managed to do that by sticking to the left side of the road and running all the way to the bridge with my men following, and didn't lose a single man. Not the most fun way of doing it but I was getting annoyed with it.

Thnx for the input. As soon as I showed rifle ready I deployed both teams to the first cover. Along with Cole and his ill-fated men I ran like hell to the second cover. Then from there I sniped germans on extreme right and directed my teams two seperate targets to supress(the two left of sniped Germans on far right.) Then I sniped Germans on extreme left and switched FT suppression to Germans on the right of the extreme left. Run,run,run to third cover. From there snipe and supress the two replaced pairs of Germans on left. Then run to fourth cover crouch behind it scooting up towards the perpendicular to the causeway portion, this leaves for a short dash around the corner. Your team will join you. Then comes a more manageable fight. Thnx again!

Just keep sniping people and suppressing. I did it the first time on Normal this way. I don't know what diffuclty you are using so.

Got through the causeway on the 2nd attempt, it's easy. Don't bother trying to suppress them, there's too many of them. Send both teams ahead of you down the causeway then run like hell but stay in amongst them so that they draw the fire away from you, you'll probably lose some or all of them but don't worry you dont need them. When you get to the end turn right but don't go too far there are snipers to the right and an MG to the left. Take out the the two snipers to the right first then hide behind the cover to the left. Slowly make your way to the end of the hedge and ahead of you will be a group of rocks,creep in behind them and make your way to the right hand side of the large rock from there you will be able to pick off the German soldiers supporting the MG. Then run straight ahead behind the area with tree and creep and take out the MG. EASY. But be careful, after running the causeway you'll probably only have one or hits left in you before you die. Good luck!!

Patience was my key on difficult. The germans respawns are not infinite. Suppress group one and two, snipe group one out of existence. This should take five or six groups to finish. Repeat for groups two and three. Then, you can rush to the end of the causeway and take out the MG while suppressing group four. Group four will have to be elimated for the Belgian gate to open. On difficult, I made it through the chapter without losing a man, but it took the better part of half an hour. Move slowly; have patence.

Direct your two teams to the first cover, the log, hedge, and tree trunk,
ordering supressing fire on all enemy positions across river.
I found I could position myself so I Could see the 2 enemy soldiers in position 1, immediately in front of the log but they couldnt see me, using leaves/foliage to hid behind, from there its easy to pick them off in safety,
then move so u can partially see the enemy soldiers in position 2, across the river, same thing, if u spot them thru foliage, they dont spot u, take them out, repeat the process until reinforcements stop arriving at both positions 1 and 2.
move further down the big peanut until u spot muzzle flash of position 3, then pop up and down until u get a good shot of standing enemy soldier, this is difficult cause he seems to be more deadly than the others, take him out then aim at the clump of grass at the end of the wooden fence besides the shot soldier, the other one is hiding there! after u take out the 2 enemy soldiers in position 3 make a dash for the tall hedge behind you, do this when u only have the enemy soldiers in position 4.
When u get to the 2nd hedge, just behind your first position, find a spot were u can partially see thru leaves and foliage the soldiers in position 4, pick em off, then scurry to the tree immediately by your hedge, hide behind trunk then peek quickly out to your right and take out reinforcements in position 3, scurry back behind hedge and repeat process for position 4, there is 4/5 waves of reinforcements on all enemy positions, just repeat until no more come then go and get more sniper rifle amm o from under the bridge then take a pleasant stroll with your men along the causeway to the other end

I just had one team surpress the closest group of Germans while I sniped and the other team headed to the next cover. Easy as that, and my teams did most of the work, I just sniped randomly.

Nobody seems to get it, your teams are their to help you.

ha, what i did was have my team supress the 1st and 2nd groups, then snipe one of the remaning guys from each group. then i ran up to the causeway its self, then just booked it across. the only bad thing is when you get to the other side your guys run to catch up with you and get massicred by the remaining germans.
