Purty, purty, purty!

There must be, what 3 Ki-100 WIPs posted right now? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Oddly, I have not seen any duplication of paint schemes yet. Seems everyone's doing their own bird!

I don't understand.. Them French keep using some bad paint... It chips of while painting...
I allready suggested paint from the marvelous Dutch brand Sikkens to Tchaika, but they simple won't listen... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Looks promising http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. I like it very much even in it's current form. Keep up the good work!

@ Serval : "bad paint", what do you mean? Bad color? I try to be closer to profiles that i have. Maybe the color on those profiles doesn't match the factory paint RBG value, but we all know that paint evolves with time, dirt, dust, engine smoke, weather conditions, etc....it's especially true for the poor quality japanese paint.
And as you could see, it's not a fresh factory painted plane. And i don't give too much credits to "color refrences"...sometimes very subjective, especially for the japanese planes.
Nothing in common with being French or not. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Amazing skin http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif And that weathering and paint chip effects... They made my weathering efforts looked pale in comparison

Glad I didnt include such layers into the template... lol... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Can't wait to have it m8. I really am http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Oh and btw, I think what Serval means is that you should use Sikkens brand to paint the skin. It wont chipped so easily http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Greg, he is making a joking compliment about your skill at weathering. Your skin is brilliant, as are your Ki-61 and Ki-84 skins.

I'm liking that skin Greg http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
that was going to be my next project http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
but i found conflicting profiles on it,some green some black..but that is lovely http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thx m8. I found conflicting profiles too : brown, dark green and quite black. It's hard to know the real color; i choosed a dark green-brown color to match the best of the profiles that i have.

Now that is what I call a good skin! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif Are you sure you don't have a real one laying around your place or what? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I think dark-green is correct, with brown adding appropiate aging/weathering.

As for the color of the paint work. As the war wore on, the ingredients used to make the paint started to be made of lesser quality and/or replaced by something inferior but acceptable. When exposed to the elements, the paint tend to deterioate by changing the color tone when basked in the hot sun, salty air, etc. So what was once a nice dark green turned into a brownish hue, again it will be determined where the airplane served and what the climate was.

So here is the final version of the first, and another interesting (and historical but controversed) blue paint scheme, for a 5th Sentai plane. One more, and i'll upload them in a first pack.

hahahaa! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif I was just thinking exactly the same reply! Then I see yours! Blue...hehhee. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Seriously, I believe the correct color he used is IJN Color Intermeadiate Blue with a R/G/B value of 105/126/141 or CMYK of 58/35/29/0. Hope this helps!

Outstanding, Greg! I try to have one, very nice looking generic camo skin for each plane I fly online. I think it's more immersive than flying a unique/ gaudily-painted machine - it makes it feel like 'Anybattle, WWII'. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

These are perfect! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
