Extreme Screen Tearing even with US PS3 V1.10 patch

I was never able to play AC for more than an hour when I first got it because the framerate and screen tearing were so bad it made my eyes hurt! I have a 60GB US PS3. I've seen people on this forum say the patch made the game look a lot better, but for me it hasn't. When I load up my game, in the first part where you run over the thin wooden beams towards a city, the screen tears right across the center, and then if you look around, you can see eye-blistering tears and lines on buildings, rock walls, etc. Its worse than in Uncharted, and that was pretty bad. I'm using HDMI on a really nice HDTV. Putting the game in 1080i doesn't help. I deleted the HDD AC data and reinstalled it, that didn't help. I'm wondering if other folks had this issue resolved with the patch, or if ya'll just put up with your eyes being assaulted?

I cant say the tearing was very noticable for myself and I've compared the game on the
PS3 and 360 on the same HD TV. The 360 has slighty deeper colours but the only place I noticed PS3 tearing was on the view points. I'm using the PAL version on a PAL PS3.

Thats an interesting point. Different versions of the game in different parts of the world run differently. Has a patch for 360 been released?

Yeah I used to have a PS3 but got rid of it, I now got the 360 elite. The AC runs alot better on the 360 and the screen tearing is a little better too, But it needs a patch big time.
