Ugliest creature in HOMM V world!

I've been reading the forums on this site for over a year and have finally decided that I must say hi to the community and thank everyone for generating some insightful topics. However with Festivus rapidly approaching us, I thought that I would start the "Airing of Grievances" list. Please follow!

Nival has diappointed me in the following ways:
1.) Mistakenly drawn the head of an angry clown in place of that of a lion for HofF's manitcore.
- i've had my issues with the genie and the gargoyle, but this is absolutely the worst.

I haven't seen the new units yet, so I can't comment on them, but I would have to go with the Gargoyles as the worst looking HOMM5 unit.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Yah, agreed, those manticores are fugly. The wolves arent great either but better close up.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Gargoyles are just unfitting but not ugly.
Manticores are both.

The fact that female heroes (except special campaign heroes) look the same as males is ugly too.

Not to sound pretentious or anything, but the depiction Nival made of the manticore is actually pretty accurate. I've read the forums and some people think the manticore should have a lion's head which is incorrect, at least in respect to the mythological creature. The description of the manticore in myth says its face (not snout) had a somewhat human appearance, as you can read here:

Of course at last it's all a matter of taste, this is after all a fantasy game and nothing prevents you to picture the manticore as a winged lion if you like it better. But in this case, I think Nival's creature is far closer to the myth that the HOMM3 manticore (whether is uglier or not).
And as for the thread subject, i can't stand the alien insect they made of the treant.
