What if when BIA:HH is released, the BIA:HH console forum forms a platoon for the game! Think about it, it would be easier to cooperate since we all know and understand each other (fairly) well. We have leaders (BIG posters), and we all play BIA, and I think we are all pretty good at the game. It's a long shot, but I think it'd work.

I think if this happens, there should be one good leader.....and that leader is.....GOLDGARAND.......Think about it there are soo many good leaders from Eisenhauer, Montgomery, MaCarthur....non of which.... are as great as, goldgarand. Basically, we will form a huge platoon of BIA-Forum-ites. In the platoon there will be leaders (moderators will either become leaders or choose them. If they don't, post your gamercard sig and the highest Gscores will become leaders. I will of course be leader of larvae squad, since this was all my idea http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif). Then everyone else will be in the squad and get rankings as the games go along. How to organize fire teams: Leaders will choose based on what the squad members like/do best with (this will be the hardewst one). Whoever is interested will post in a separate topic I will create at a later date, and we'll decide everything from there. Schedules will depend on what the squad leaders want. Is this complicated? I THINK NOT!

I think that the delay is so that Gerbox can do more with the multiplayer, like perfect the "squad" system (which is what this entire topic is based off of). I think that the ranks within the squad will be determined not by the players, but by the server rankings.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I like the whole idea of this here. I am pretty new to the forums, just to let you know. My biggest problem with your suggestion is the part were you said the players with the highest gamerscores will become the leaders. I am only 14 (but i behave more maturely than the typical 14 year old, i can assure you of that.)and i don't have a job yet. Forking over $426.91 to buy an Xbox 360 was a major accomplishment for me, buying games, is just something i don't have the money to do yet. For now i can just play demos of games and build up my experience, but that does not help with the gamerscore situation. To me, your gamerscore, is just as much a measure of how much money you have to spend on games as it is a measure of your experience. Therefore, i think that if you created this team when the game comes out, the leaders should be chosen by try-outs or in another similar fashion, to make it fair for us who only have enough money to be a few games that they have a strong desire to own, such as Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway!!

I don't know if i would call the PC a more mature gaming platform. Maybe a more EXPENSIVE gaming platform. One of the reasons why i bought a 360 was because i am using a 6 year old Dell that is running XP but was built to run Windows 2000, it still has all the original hardware that came with it, so it is impossible to run any new PC games on it. The 360 will never require a hardware update to allow you to play games, everyone has basically the same system, it is great. The game developers make better games with time when they learn more about the abilities of this new generation of consoles. It is a relatively inexpensive way to get into HD gaming!! And i love it

I tell you what, after being an avid FPS fanboy of PC on games like CS and TFC since 99. I was stunned after the simplicity of xbox live when i first got mine in like 04. I was stunned knowing we had gone so long without it. At least I did. The fact you dont have to upgrade, you dont have to install software for games and games themselves, the fact you dont need to dish out 1500 dollars after all is said and done to play games like BiA or MMORPGs. I would never go back to playing PC games that are on both PC and 360. The simplicity of 360 and how it works deff sold me on being an evolved xbox fanboy.

Im with you, if there are try outs the people that should be the platoon leaders are the realtime soldiers and actually know how to lead a squad. You could also have squads in the platoon with squad leaders and they get there orders from the main platoon leader and they go out and carry out their mission with there squad.

I dont know how the MP is going to work with squad based gameplay that has allways been in the game but I asume it will be something like runing around calling yourself a squad. Mabey it will be like how you pick your weapon or equipment that was in Americas Army Rise of a Soldier.

Well, I am currently apart of a realism unit for Day of Defeat Source for the PC. If you don't know what it is it's a beatiful WWII online FPS that runs on the Half Life 2 engine. So, my "Realism Unit" is set up like an actually U.S. Ranger Battalion. We are the 2nd Ranger Battalion to be exact (Tom Hanks and his make shift squad in Saving Private Ryan are 2nd RB). Anyways we run on ranks. I am just a rather new enlistee who is a Pvt. and am a rifleman. I am restricted to the M1 Garand until I go up in rank or apply for a position such as scout, support, sniper, anti-armor, MG, etc. We follow realism at all times and have matches with other realism units (usually German ones). Realism units use real manuvers and tactics. Maybe we could set up this system on HH for 360. We would just have to figure out our Officers and work down the chain of command.

Yeah, it works with PC gamers because it is a big community of realism units. We play scrims in a special locked server we run against other realism units and we have a pub (public) server we run for anyone to come in and play, this is where we recruit members. The PC realism community is pretty organized and every unit has it's own forum and servers.

The real crazy idea with that would be a MP world of Market Garden with squads of germany's and american's that was just a huge campaigne!!!! They tried such a huge world war two multiplayer game once and it didn't work out so well but. if you started out in a briefing tent telling you about the progress of the battles then you have the options to pick where you want to play just like picking your room and its just an all day game where at the end it takes a look at the score and see's how desisive of a victory it was. This idea has so many nuances with it even as i'm typing about it i see problems and possible fixes just it would be so fun playing a game where on line it affects whats going on even if they did such a thing once in a while i don't think any FPS game has ever accomplished this. But i'm not sure i'm and also sure there will be tons of people telling me of games that do this. So bring it on!
