Firstly thanks to everyone who responded to my two posts re my regular crashes to desktop despite having a top spec machine with all the latest patches and drivers.
UBI support came back to me and said that there is a problem with SHIII and 64bit processors and that they hope a fix will be out soon.
This does explain why many Intel owners who responded to my post were running fine.
Any comments?
Cheers

I have and AMD64 as well, I've also posted a topic about a month or so ago.
My specs :
AMD64 3400+ @ 2400Mhz
1024Mb DDR 400Mhz
GeForce 6800 Ultra 256Mb
Windows XP 64Bit (Build 3790.srv03_sp1_rtm.050324-1447 : Service Pack 1)
To get this detailed version information, goto start then press run and type "winver" without "
The thing is UBI Soft denies any responsebility cause they consider "the 64-bit edition as incompatible". Yet they state this no where on the box.
Furthermore having looked into this StarForce protection scheme (and their respective websites) they advertise that 64 bit poses no problem with a minor upgrade on the StarForce software...
I suggest UBISoft gets itself ready for the coming x64 architecture and buy this upgrade.

I have a AMD 64bit system.
I did have problems similar to this but the game seems okay now after installing the latest patch for the game 1.4b, I think 1.3 patch helped with stability too!
I think the only thing that slows me down is my HD, I think it's time for a new one maybe a SATA Drive - but choosing one is harder than walking through a minefield and trust me it's something not to attempt!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Running 1.4b (and ran all the earlier versions) just fine on my AMD 64 3000+ (except I can't run RUB 1.41 or 1.42 without getting CTDs for some reason - have tried several installs/uninstalls/tests and get CTDs with RUB and none without RUB for some reason)
The only other CTDs I've ever gotten with this rig and any version of SH3 (except the RUB ones noted above) have been due to the nefarious crew auto-management buttons (e.g., "surface cruise"), which I have simply learned to avoid by never again using those buttons.
I'm using WinXP Pro with SP2 though - not the 64-bit Windows

I'm running SH3 with Athlon 64 3200+, 2 GB RAM, no problems at all, except sometimes the game snags a bit while the hard disk works.
