I have the game itself, but I'm sure some people here don't, so I figured we should probably all play the demo together instead. What do you think?

Everyone who wishes to participate post here, then we can set a time and server to play on. I wish they had a buddy list feature. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I wish WOLF had the server up and running (If not for UT then for games like BF.) Mikevolta has gotten quite good in this game.
How about in an hour or so? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Edit: Well there maybe one problem for those who don't have BF2 Mel dear; The demo download requires you to suscribe to gamespot.

You can download it with a free gamespot account, that's what I did. You don't have to pay money to become a free member.

Doing that http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.
Mikey, hope to see your bullet ridden butt in oh... 1 hour? Lol!
Edit: Man! I hate free downloads...

Any other takers? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I'm hoping my skills will be refreshed. Haven't played BF2 in a while, I've been busy beating a million of my other new games. I always buy a big chunk at one time. Keeps me busy though. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Ok everyone, whoever wants to join I'll be in server: "Noobs II". It's not really for noobs or anything, that's just what it's called for some reason. I like the player number and everything best on that one.
My username is Melonie86, I'll be on the American team. Hope to see you there. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Sweet! Uhh, I think I can play in a demo server with the regular game? if you happen to have the IP handy that would be a better bet to find you.
There have been so many patches for BF2 recently that it may be difficult to match up a server. I'm running 1.2 right now 1.21 just came out last night but I've avoided installing it because it hasn't been approved by my ladder admin yet.

System can't support this game? Impossible! I play UT on this all the time. If it can handle that than it can handle this. WTF!?

Maybe not Cat... BF2 is possibly the most difficult game to run on your computer. As far as online games go anyway. What are your cpu specs?
Mike, I'm not sure if you can play on the demo server with the regular game or not. I'll have to ask my bro, he should know. If not we'll work something out. Either I'll go ahead and play the full game version or you can play the demo. It all depends on how many other people want to play and whether or not they have the full version of the game or not.
It'd be nice if we could get a nice crowd though. We'll have to create a squad so we can use the headset feature as well. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
While we're waiting for other participants, I guess we can talk about the game. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif What do you usually play as? Special Forces is my favorite, but I like to play as the sniper as well. I pretty much like the sniper in every game that offers that position, but for some reason I enjoy Special Forces over the Sniper on BF2. Blowing up tanks is just too much fun. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

AMD Athlon XP 2000+
Asus A7V8X Motherboard w/ Onboard Audio and Broadcom
512MB DDR 3200 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce4 MX440
I think it should be able to handle it.
Sniper Huh? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. Get Halo 2 soon. Lets see what ya made of http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

Shoot, I may have to bow out for this evening. My "Saturday commitment" just turned into a tonight commitment as well. (Sister just bought a house and I have a truck, fill in the blanks here.
"_______, Can you help us ________?"
I've logged most of my hours as Special(needs) Forces or Assault, but I've been playing a lot of Anti-Tank recently because I unlocked the DAO-12 (streetsweeper) shotgun and it's fun to blast people point blank.
I play a bit of sniper as well, but usually only if I'm picked off a few times in a row by someone else. The claymores are lots of fun =)

Cat, it might be the video card, do you have the latest drivers installed for it? I forget where the Nvidia cutoff is.
Catapharact
03-10-2006, 02:41 PM
Well I have the system on autoupdate, but I can always reinstall the driver.
*Gone to reinstall driver.*
If it works Mel, see ya on the server.

You're screwed man. You might as well just play BF2 on 640x480 in Windowed mode.
BF2 requires at least a GeForce FX and higher or an Radeon 9600 and higher videocard for smooth gameplay.

Ok, I guess I'll have to wait until you get a better card then Cat. And yes, I love to snipe on Halo 2. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Too bad you won't be on tonight Mike.http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif That's the way it goes if you own a truck though, everyone will ask you to help them move stuff with it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif Oh well, I won't be sore at you, especially since you're doing a good, brotherly deed. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif We'll have to schedule another time.
So basically it looks like I will be flying solo tonight. Oh well, I'll just ask my brothers to play with me. They've been wanting me to beat Kingdom Hearts with them again anyway, so it looks like I have a busy evening ahead of me, after playing some BF2 that is. We're all so excited about Kingdom Hearts II coming out so we're beating the original KH again, for the millionth time. I guess my new games are going to have to wait. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

LOL! Wish it was that simple Mike. You really should check out her home sescurity system. It makes the RE Red Queen look like a Preschooler. Now why would a mild manner citizen need all that security? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif
On the upside, I placed an order for the ATI AIW X800XT right now. All I can do now is wait.

Too bad it isn't for PC. Would have been fun trying landing headshots on each other (for friendly competition purposes only offcourse http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif.)

Sweet! Cat, I don't think you'll be upset with the x800xt, it's a sweet card. Lemme know when you get it hooked up. My PC isn't all that, but the X800XT evens things out a bit. I'm only running an Athlon 2.6ghz with a gig of memory and I have no problems. Being able to use your PC as a Tivo is cool too, although I really havn't bothered to use it other than the initial "Hey, this is cool I guess" trial.
I recently read a review for BF2 that cited a substantial boost in FPS if you have a stand alone sound card as well. I'm curious to check that out as I'm currently running it on the integrated sound but do have a Phillips 5.1 card installed for my music and other AV stuff.
