Not worried by small glitches but am worried about major bugs especially after BA1. Anybody out there using a Logitech 3D pro that maps and works ? Is there Yaw control ? Plenty of ppl on the mutiplayer ?
Thx

Check out the tech area. Many posts about joystick problems. And since you have a 3d pro--you will have an answer.

I'd say no unless the patch fixes a lot. Just seems like it's made cheap.

Its a really REALLY fun game.
The bad parts are the control system, its really screwed up, from not supporting even Microsoft Force Feedabck joysticks, nevermind the lesser makes.
even the key controls are wierd. For example after you roll to one side like a real plane would in 'simulator' mode, it keep self centring which is really annoying.
The game itself is well worth buying for the fun and lots of missions, however they REALLY need to sort the controls out.
They should have worked out how a real plane flies in IL2 Sturmovik 1946 before adding a mode called 'simluator' which is actually just as arcade as 'arcade' mode.
The cockpits are cool tho, this adds a LOT to the game.
Its a big improvment on BA1. They are on the right track to making the Blazing Angels series the best WW2 fun air game.
Right now I would still say the years old Crimson skies PC beats it for dogfighting action, but only just with BA2.
VERY varied and fun missions, one minute flying through canyons and rolling through bridge struts, next torpedoing ships in a Betty, then rocketing targets in a Typhoon, next bomging an airfield with a Mosquito or Pe2, next in a turret shooting down incoming 109's, then the bomb aimer blowing up bridges and flak defences...then.....etc etc you get the idea!
I am a big IL2 Sturmovik 1946 simulator fan, and I liked BA2. Hope they make BA3 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Please please just sort the controls/joystick issue in a patch!! For simulator mode, refer to IL2 Sturmovik to how a real plane flies (with reagrd to rolling, self centring and rudder, I dont mean rewrite the whole flight model), lots of PC gamers would appreciate it and it wouldnt be too much work!

Ty Blud, Zad and Xio.
Looks like the game could be a lot of fun but without decent Joystick controls it's a no go for me. Only way to fly for me is with a JS http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
Perhaps 1 of those freeware programs might be the answer. Whatever the flight characteristics; Crimson Skies, Il2 or ANY other flight arcade/sim game I'm sure we could adapt to it, but BA2 looks to be just simply non-functional for most with a JS. And self correcting flight !!! whats that about lol.
After BA1 and it's 2 patches and now BA2 with the similar problems and still cant get Joysticks to work with even a half decent flight model lmao. Not getting angry as not bought the game but you gotta laugh at UBI. Every other software developer must be laughing themselves silly .
With many chuckles, thx again guys :0

Yes!!! I've just recently bought BA1 and BA2, and I'm having a ton of fun with BA1.I'm a big fan of IL2 1946 and MS combat flight sims, and BA is a great break from the norm flight sim with tons of action and remarkable look.
I have a Saitek Cyborg gold flight stick plus an added saitek throttle and pedals. BA1 is repaired and works great with my set up. BA2, unfortunately stil is not, but I'm hopeful that a patch is coming soon. I read in an earlier thread that there may be one in a few days. I cant wait since the top secret missions look great from the preveiws.
I wasn't sure how i'd like BA, being a sim junky, but I realy do think it's worth buying and replaying. The missions are solid and the action intence.

Lol Polecat. Looks like the game could be a lot of fun but not parting with a penny until sure my JS works. No way buying a flight game and then having to use a mouse and a KB - bet u guys at UBI must think I'm strange in that regard http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif Been told a patch is on its way, any idea of an ETA ?

Well today I bought BA 2 and I'm not so sure that that was a good idea...
Firstly the game does not detect a Logitech Force 3D Pro... secondly, the work around using a third party control emulator, ControlMK, doesn't work either...and that worked for me in BA1.
I could not save the changes I made in the control configuration...in order to use ControlMK.
No sensitivity settings that work!!!!
The mouse sensitivity slider, governed on the mouse wheel, changes back to high sensitivity on its own accord....despite setting that down 20 times!!!!!!!!....the result...just touch the y axis and your plane goes into a full dive or a steep climb...speak about having control of your plane...and u gotta hone onto a target with this kinda control....
I'm speechless!!!!! I spent nearly 2 hours to set up any kind of control and still could not fly...I've spent only about 20 minutes in the air with way too much frustration....diving & climbing, diving & climbing....Bah!!!!
When do I start having fun?
I own every other flight sim on the market so don't think its my system or my stick or my ability
Ubi....what's going on? Oh yeah I have PS 2 mouse & keyboard and all that stuff...I've never had 2 minutes of trouble of this kind in any other game on earth....oh yes actually I have......BA1!!!!
Unbelievable!!!! But then again I should have known better from past experience!!!

I don't have a certain ETA, but the patch will be out very soon, most likely this week.

I really enjoyed this game... for 4 days!
That's the amount of time I needed to finish the campaign even with ace rank in every mission.
Unfortunately, the game doesn't offer anything afterwards instead of a multiplayer mode via the internet (which could be a lot of fun if there would be some games open from time to time) or LAN, not even another singleplayer mode.

Greetings Fellow Happy PC Gamers:
You know, I LOVE been treated like a second-class gamer in the eyes of UBISOFT just because I choose to use a PC rather than the darling (Red-Ring-Of-Death prone) XBOX 360 console. Especially after I plunk down $40 of my hard-earned money for a DEFECTIVE GAME like BA2 for PC. The PC platform was; and still is, the home of the Flight Sim genre. That's because there isn't a universally-adopted flight control system available for any console to date. God forbid I try to use my rather expensive and quite capable Saitek X52 FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM with a FLIGHT SIMULATION GAME! What must I have been thinking? I knew I should have stayed with the professional-quality games like IL-2 and FSX. How can UBISOFT make such a work of art like IL-2, and then turn around and take a giant steaming dump on the flight sim community with Blazing Angels 1 & 2? I have been on the phone with UBISOFT Tech Support (another few hours of my life I will never get back). A patch is coming...a patch is coming! Folks, don't hold your breath for a functional patch anytime this century. We're still wating for a functional BA1 patch since March 23, 2006! I know that next-gen consoles are where the money is at today, but does UBISOFT have to make their distain for PC gamers so blatantly obvious? But they're sure willing and able to take our $40, aren't they?
Written by just another satisfied UBISOFT customer. Happy keyboard-mashing to all of you wanna-be fighter pilots out there in PC-land!

Greetings PC Gamers:
Very rarely in my life have I been made to eat crow so quickly - and it is not because of a bird-strike to the canopy glass. I AM TRULY SORRY ABOUT MY PRIOR POSTING!!! After having blasted UBISOFT so harshly earlier today, I decided to (for the very last time) try to get my X52 stick to work in Blazing Angels 2. Upon clicking play, low and behold, an AUTOPATCH 1.01 window pops up. I installed the patch, and after maping the buttons and stick axis (you guessed it, folks) MY X52 STICK WORKS PERFECTLY NOW!!! I sincerely want to say that I AM SORRY and THANK YOU to the developers. After playing the game for a little while properly, I was able to fully enjoy the drop dead GORGEOUS GRAPHICS minus the verbal swearing and stick beating. To all of those who were on the fence about buying BA2 because of control issues, the green light has been lit. ALL HAIL AUTOPATCH 1.01!!!! I hope to see all of you daring aviators online in the multiplayer arena! I wish to also formally apologize to the Tech Support representative who had to listen to my rant via the telephone. Now about Blazing Angels 1...
Writen by a truely happy UBISOFT customer (no sarcasm this time). Please forgive my impatient nature. Great job you guys! I will be the FIRST in line to purchase BLAZING ANGELS 3 for PC!!!!

Greetings Blud_E_Gutz:
Hey, don't get me wrong - I agree with you whole heartedly that a functional Demo should be available for PC. Just because they fixed my particular X52 glitch doesn't mean that it will work with your setup at all. There is no good reason that UBISOFT can't release a Demo for PC just as they already have done for Xbox 360. I took the risk, regreted it for a while, but it looks like my gamble finally paid off. It really is a great game. It's not IL-2, by any strech of the imagination, but then again it's not designed to be (it's a different audience). I still have a list of requested features a mile long for Blazing Angels 3, but that's for a different Forum Topic. I hope you get your Demo, so that you can try before you buy. Until then, I'll see you on the ground when I land - right now there are Nazis to be killed...and I'm just the aviatrix for the job!
Regards,

OK been flying most of today and if I had to use 1 word to describe this game it would be FUN ! Long time since I've enjoyed myself this much.
Perfect? hell no! My Logitech JS mapping needed some tweaking at first with some controls being reversed. There is a large dead zone on the "roll" (really needs fixing Grav). And some of the maps cause a severe drop in frame rates.
But....FUN !!!! Best bit so far...trying to dodge the sub roks by flying through the skyscrapers of San Fransisco. Looking forward to the multiplayer just hoping it's not FUBAR http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Are you guys playing the same game as this review?? (it's the first one that I have seen)and on a PC??
http://www.yougamers.com/reviews/12385_blazing_angels_2...sions_of_wwii-page4/ (http://www.yougamers.com/reviews/12385_blazing_angels_2_secret_missions_of_wwii-page4/)
"Even if you'd forgive all the technical faults of Blazing Angels 2, you'd still end up with a below average game weighted down by utterly silly missions, poor presentation (such as lieutenant written as leftenant) and clumsy gameplay. When you add up all the technical issues to the mix, the end result is a box that should be handled like a barrel of radioactive waste. It's sad as I very much like arcade style air combat games, but no amount of post-release patching will save this one due to the deep flaws in the actual mission design and story."
and even with the patch it concludes
"Sadly no patch can fix the outright silly missions, and overall the review still stands, even after the most obvious technical issues are now fixed."

Hey Blud http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I ain't gonna blow sunshine at ya - I agree with everything that review says and more. The list of faults goes on and on, I could post pages. Especially after the disaster of BA1 you'd have thought they'd get this 1 right first time ! At times it feels like a got a FPS of 2 !
Never took to flight sims, not got a console, not happy using the WASD KB. Just enjoy 30 mins on an arcade flight game at night, a bit of escapism , help me unwind. Played em all from "Airfix Dogfighters" to BA2.
Perfect game would be the flight model of "Crimson Skies" with 20 maps, 50 different planes and several Multiplayer modes - all with low system requirements and no lag. NOBODY got it right yet FFS !! even after what 6/7 years ?
All I'm saying is that the single player has been the most fun so far. What was the last decent arcade flight sim we had ? "Heroes of the Pacific"? 2/3 years ago? Jeez but there aint many. Nobody buys em because the developers cant get it right so the developers think why develop a top end game when nobody gonna buy it, Catch 22.
I'm happy so far with BA2 because there aint nothing else out there and it is fun. Last wasted my money on "Attack on Pearl Harbour" but feel I got a little better value for money with BA2.
We both know, with such high sys requirements, that the multiplayer is going to be a complete laggy nightmare but hell...it has been such a long time since I enjoyed flying this much.
Just my opinion http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I understand what you are saying. Crimson was a heck of a game (both SP and MP). Even with the MP faults and the zone, they could be overlooked because the game was a blast!!!!
I just wish a Demo was available for me to judge the 'fun' factor.

Don't buy it too much wrong with it too many headaches a game is to be fun and challenging not arravating. When UBISoft makes a good game it is a good game but when have the manual is not applicable anymore because they simply gave up on making it a good game they are really, realy lousy!

Had a lot of fun playing this game but not played in days as replay value is so low. Do each mission a couple of times and then there's nothing left to do http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif Very few people online.
Played skirmish mode online which was a hell of a lot of fun but u can't start it on your own. FFS Ubi all u need do is enable us to start the online game on our own !!

Big FSX guy here...I would have to say if they got the multiplayer up and running it is worth taking a break from the long haul flights and not having to worry about anything but shooting...pretty fun release from the more realistic flight dynamics of other sims...if you are looking for a quick fix to shoot a bunch of stuff this is the game to get.

Seems fun so far in the champaign mode but have not been able to find an online game yet, folks need to get into xfire and set up accounts so we can set up games and build a comunity! My Saitek x45(jstick/throttle combo) works pretty well once you get your buttons set up right other than that once the online action gets going this should be a fun game, I'm hoping it opens up like Crimson Skies so I can kick everyones butts like I did back then lol! Hope to see you all in the air! If you get logged into xfire add me to your friends list as chains1.
