EIB + PS2 Cant get beyond opening movie

Does anyone have any suggestions on why I can't do anything except watch the opening video with Red and SLAM? I can save after, not save, skip intro. No matter what I do, when the game goes back to Continue, New Game, Chapters: Continue wont highlight for me and chapters only lets me watch the same video again and again...

First, just wondering if you have patched the game? I would try updating the patches. Also if you would post your system information including OS, Processor, RAM and graphics card so that we can take a closer look.
