View Full Version : Vehicle delay: Bug? Or am I doing something wrong?

Not sure if this has been discussted before, but I was making an "active airfield" by placing a few ground vechiles driving around, which stop at various points (fuel trucks stop near planes, etc), and I noticed that whatever waypoint I set the TimeOut property, the vehicle stops and waits the specified time at the PREVIOUS waypoint. When I click the times for the wayponts, it would seem that the delay is at the incorrect waypoint in game.
Ex. I set waypoints A, B, C, and D, A starting at 8:00. Let's just say that it takes the vehicle 1 minute to go between any 2 waypoints. Now I want the vehicle to hold for 3 minutes at C. The stop times for the waypoints would be as follows (A: 8:00, B: 8:01, C: 8:02, D: 8:05), but the vehicle actually sits at waypoint B for 3 minutes in game, meaning it would reach C at 8:04.

Any landing you can walk away from is a good one.

I think I remember reading somewhere the "time out" option is the arrival at the next waypoint. This way you can regulate the speed of the traffic. I've not used FMB for a good few months so I would have to work on it.

No wait, that's not right ... The speed between 2 waypoints regulates the speed. Timeout is worked by entering a value at a wapoint. Now, I can't remember if you put in the time you wish to depart or a number e.g. 2 means 2 minutes ... I'm sure there'll be something in the manual.

Yes... it doesn't quite work as it should.......lodically
to get a vehicle to stop you put the time-out at the previous waypoint

Actually that would make my fuel truck 2 waypoints before I want it to stop. So I set the delay at the next waypoint.
BTW, to clarify, I am using the timeout field for duration, not a specific time on the clock (usually between 1 and 5 minutes).
I also didn't see where I can set the speed of vehicles. I think this may be for armor only? Not sure, since I aven't played with moving armor yet.

Aircrafts and ships are the only moving objects to which you can define the speed-property. Armors, vehicles and trains have fixed speed and only the time-out -property is available to control their "speed"...
