Hello
I have been playing IL-2 online with my brother since the first IL-2 came out. My Brother is on high speed DSL (Manitoba Telephone System) and we could not hook up TCP-IP at first, he finally got help from the phone company, and is able to join but cannot host.
This however is not our problem, now a buddy of mine would like to join our games and he is on DSL and is having the same problem as my brother and I had. Of course we cannot remember what we did to fix the problem the first time! We have compared Conf.ini's shut down firewalls(MTS tells us they have no fire wall) he is not behind a router, and RW works fine? Any Ideas? we are getting desperate to fly PF+FB+AEP online.
Thanks,
Calvi

~S!
Have your friend go into the il2 pf game folder and open the setup exe
go to the network tab and open it
open the IP box and you will see a default ip and two other ip numbers
select one of the others ip numbers and try to join
if unsuccessful try the other ip number
One of those should enable your friend yo hook up to your game

This is similar but worded differently (found it here also):

quote:
IF you are connecting IP to IP then before you launch il2, make sure you are online then open il2setup.exe(in your il2 folder). Then click on the network tab and make sure DSL is selected.
Below that box is a small window that should say 'default' in it. Click on this and there should be two IP addresses showing, select the bottom one and hit OK.
Don't ask me why but it works for me and many others that I know of with DSL.
You only need to do this with IP to IP and you have to do it every time you log on. I put a shortcut to 'il2setup' on my desktop.

Thank you very much Gentlemen, works like a charm now, we went through setup before, but my friend is a newbie to puters, and missed the choices under the network tab. Yipee, can't wait till our next flying night, two wingmen now instead of just one.
