A sad farewell

I feel kind of sad! after having downloaded and played the Setttlers V demo, I have decided not to buy that game, even though I have been looking forward to that game for a long time, and even though I have faithfully bought every version of the game since version II, including all extensions.

Why?
Because all that I loved about the game has gone, gone are the cute figures, gone are the worries about infrastructure and supply/demand, gone are the different cultures, and the - however minucule - diffences in the economy.

What remains is a medevial RTS game, the 3d imagry looks stunning, but ... graphics cannot put back into the game, what has gone.

With these words, I bid Bluebyte farewell, and thank you for the many hours of ejoyment you hav e brought me through versions 2-4.

To be honest after Settlers 1 everything went downhill, IMO. Not meaning I didn't like Settlers 3 and 4, but 1 is by far the better game even if the GFX are outdated.

I remember it could take months to even get close to an enemy empire when playing the biggest possible map size..

What have they done with the new settlers?
The soul that was settlers is gone.
Now its just a wery pretty Age of .....game.
I am wery disappointed.
It would have been better if the just fixed the networkproblems settlers 4 had and left as the last the last settlers. But i quess they already have made settlers 4 the last "real" settlers.
I will also say farewell to Ubisoft

I loved the Settlers, i spend so many hours playing Settlers 2,3 and 4. Went in clans, amused me at the Bleu Byte forums with BB Contact and stuff...

Goodby to that, Settlers is nog Settlers anymore. It's just a standard RTS...
