View Full Version : BEST WAY TO SKIP INTRO SCREENS!!!

Ok, we all hate having to wait full 2 minutes to play sc. Here are two things you can do to skip the intro scenes.
First, for SP/COOP
Right click on the shortcut(s) to Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. Click on properties. In the target line, you'll see something like "C:\Program Files\Splinter Cell 3\Splintercell3.exe". After the last quotation, put in a space, and then -nointro. So the final command line will look like this:
<span class="ev_code_RED">"C:\directory with Splinter Cell\Next directory with Splinter cell\SplinterCell3.exe" -nointro</span>
Your game will start directly to the title screen!
Now, to avoid an intro for SvM:
1) Go into your Splinter cell directory.
2) Go into the versus folder
3) Go into the system folder
4) Find a file called "SCCT_Versus.exe." Create a shortcut to this file.
5) Move the shortcut to your desktop or start menu.
You can now start directly in SvM mode without going to the SP title screen first.
You could also alter files/config files, but this is the easiest and most foolproof way to avoid the intros. Thanks to whiskey for the SP part.

Fantastic! Now if only Direct2Drive would get its act together and release the game, I could try it out!

My sentiments exactly. I know the intro files are irrelevant, but I just didn't want to delete them. Maybe I'd want to watch it again in the future, ya know? But this way there is no playing with any files, just a shortcut paramater.

Different games often have different extensions, so what works in one game may or may not work in another.

Press the "ESCAPE" key. Works every time for every game.

"Escape" only works for the ingame scenes. I HATE the Ubisoft, Dolby and other movies. I'll try it out, perhaps it helps.

Since this thread deals with editing the target line, I was wondering if the addition of -console would allow a console in single player when pressing TAB (like in other games).
I'd really like to know my FPS so that I can work out the best graphical settings.
I have 1gig of ram and an ATI Radeon 9800 pro 128 mb. I'm currently running SC3 on 1024 res with 2x aa and 4x anistropy (or the other way around? i can't remember). I could run it on 12x10 but sometimes it slows down a little.
Thank you! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Actually, esc. will work for the in-game video, but not the ubi, tom clancy, and M videos. That's what I've been doing in the past, but this will be much easier ^^.

I did that shortcut thing before, but thanks for the -nointro. I think shortcut could be figured out, becuz it uses the same Versus system as Pandora Tomorrow...

I tried the -nointro thing once and the game froze before the title screen came all the way up.
To stop the game I had to cut the power to my comp.
