Is it just me or is there a lack of cutscenes in this game compared to it's predecessors? There's pretty much only the one after the first mission, but it's more like an intro than a cutscene... I'm not complaining or anything, but I just I think it's weird since there are much footage from cutscenes in trailers etc.

Look at this trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soxiKiF2f9w) for example, why didn't they put those ingame (and well, change the voices of course)? And I never saw that rolling bus in the game either...

Here's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_dtUxA_flY) another.

The idea Shanghai was going with was that the graphics are so good that cutscenes weren't needed. In other words, they were too lazy to make real cutscenes. Or maybe it was that they were responding to the community's wishes for there to be less cutscenes. One or the other.

Well the cutscenes are obviously already made. So why not just put them into the game?

Why would anyone want less cutscenes? And those who didn't wanna watch them could just Esc out of them.

The cutscenes were used in the current gen versions.

I think it was the perspective of the story. It was all through Sam's eyes. They said that the "directed moments" would replace the cutscenes. (I find that a load of ballony because RE4 had both cutscenes and DM togeather very well) But that's all they were: moments. The version devoloped by Montreal had cutscenes in third-person perspective. You were viewing what was going on and what happened, then going to first-person during gameplay. It was quite a great formula that made the games more enjoyable. RE4 added a human element to the cutscenes by making "DM". (Sorry, Shanghai, your "DM" are not orginal.). If you didn't react, you died or something bad happened. They weren't tied down to Leon alone. I don't know why this Splinter Cell was only on Sam. So many other people were involed, in fact, more than other games. Yet we knew nothing of his actions. Very lame. I hope SC5(SCC) tells the story better. Poor Ironside said that DA's story is good. It os, but you have to dig. Get the pre-game stuff they made for the beware sam fisher website and combine it with the two versions and a bit of SCE (the PSP one) and PRESTO! Good story. Many people are not diehard fans and will be "that's it?" when they finished. Heck, why do we get more background from the pre-game website than in the acctual game? I hope this is all fixed in the next game.

Thank you for reading ^_^

I don't know about you guys but I thought the unrendered cutscenes and intro from GRAW 2 were pretty tight, it would be cool if they could kind of do that but still throw in some rendered stuff
