If you use a login from other ubi accounts, you can't connect to any games. When you create a new account from within lockdown, you can join a game. This has been tested multiple times. My account I use with Ravenshield will not work when I try to connect to game.
2. After you connect to a game and either get disconnected or try to join another game, you get connection error each time. Only way to fix this is log off of ubi, log back in and join. This works 60% of the time.
3. UPNP NAT not working properly with Linksys wrt54g. Have the newest firmware and never have a problem with any games, including ravenshield. for me to see list of servers, I have to open ports on firewall.

Sorry, I actually made a separate post here:
http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8081011862/m/6201058214
but the bug is 'unable to connect to server'.
I respectfully, and humbly request a patch. I really want to play this game online.
Thank you for your consideration.

Finally got the game to run!!!
Nasty clipping sound when I close up for some Hot Nasty CQB with tangos.
Team AI still wont "Stay" when told to hold.
Hit detedtion still isnt very good.
Both sides AI try to run through walls. I saw a tango attempt to shoot us with an RPG, to bad he didnt notice he was too close to a wall and tk'd himself.
I was under the assumption there would be instructions for modding. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/crackwhip.gif

*Another bug in the full version is the Punkbuster doesn't stay enabled. Every time I log in to try to play the game, I have to go to options and re-select Punkbuster.
It's a small, but inconvenient bug that is worth mentioning.
*Note: I am talking about playing the game, not running a server.

The biggest problem we're running into in MP is having computers that easily meet the recommended requirements, and are still bogging down. Any ideas on how to speed up gameplay, short of dropping all the graphic levels way down?

2 bugs ive found so far..
747
If you go up in the plane, theres only 1 ladder that leads up there to 3rd floor. For example in a laddermatch, some1 could just go up there and camp it out even vs. 5 ppl.. since theres only 1 ladder that leads up there.. which is very baaaaaaaaaaad for gameplay. you can just shoot every1 who tries to go up there.
Bunkers
You cant drop into bunkers from upperlevel, like you could in earlier r6 series (rs,rvs).
You need to go around every time (and get shot?)
You really need to fix these 2 bugs.

Account locked. I downloaded the game from d2d and tried to log into ubi through the game and it locked my account then it blocked the account. Nice 1. Team ai SUCKS. I'd at least like to see my team shoot the bad guys once in awhile instead of standing there. How about tangos who run back in forth pointlessly. Not to mention sound poping and very little amount of selectable weapons. So I'm pretty much stuck in singleplay mode until UBI figures out how to take there head out of there *** and release a good game that can be played online.

Minimum requirements means you have to run the game at the lowest levels to play smoothly. I suggest building better gaming computers if you want to crank up the graphics like I do.
Now on to bugs.
1. You need to allow people to jump down into the bunkers and off of edges and ladders.
2. PunkBuster needs to stay enabled.
3. Fix some of the minor sound bugs such as poping. My Audigy 2 doesnt hardly pop at all. My friends X-Fi pops like crazy and so does my onboard on my laptop.
4. You need to allow 16 players in a server
5. You need to allow people to strafe to the left or right when they are peaking and at least allow somebody with a sniper to walk slowly while scoped and allow them to peak also.
6. You need to fix the dedicated server so hosting companys dont need good graphics cards to be able to host a game.
7. You need to do something about starforce and teamspeak compatability. When the game starts is causes an ungodly screaching sound for a couple seconds if teamspeak is open.
8. If starforce decided its going to destroy one of my drives I will send you a bill for the cost of the drive. It has destroyed many many optical drives to date.
9. And for !@%@#$ sake fix the name thing so I can use my clans tags! I am [F&F]ProStreet and thats what everybody knows me by!

Star Force shouldnt do that anymore. They went driverless when the Sony BMG fiasco blew up. look at their website

Multiplayer:
Name setting in game does not work. It only reflects the name of the UBI account in the server.
Next when joining a server it shows my name correctly in the dedicated server window (my UBI ID specifically) - although in game it adds the number 2 at the end of my name. For example I will show as FI_FlimFlam2 even though my account has no "2". When I ready up, the server console then changes to show the "2". Fix the in game names.
Majority of servers give a unable to connect to server error. You need to resolve this issue.
When exiting out of the multiplayer server browser and returning back to the main menu it is completely redundant and useless to have to click OK on the confirmation that I have disconnected from UBI. This is quite annoying and repetitive. At the very least put a check box to not see the message again.
Until you fix some of these very basic things, most teams and clans will not waste their time attempting to play lockdown. RSE put alot of time and effort into Lockdown, it's a shame to see these stupid little errors that should have never gone out the door with a basic Q/A cycle. You guys are getting bit in the tail by this - just like the south-paw controller issue on the consoles. Maybe you need to higher a 3rd party to handle your Q/A cycles and bug testing because either you are not testing, or you are not testing correctly, or you simply don't care enough to address these glaring issues.

No muzzle "puff" from silenced weapons.
There is no visual que the silenced weapons are firing. In RvS, the silenced weapons let out a gas "puff", which, IIRC, is realistic.
*NOTE* I don't mean "flash", as you would see from the muzzle of a non-silenced weapon.

I'm not sure what's causing this one but sometimes when I switch to pistol, the firing mode gets stuck in full which disallows me to fire. It might have only been in training that happens in.
One time I was trying to get back to the main menu by clicking the "Main Menu" button and it wouldn't go. I think I was on the mission screen.
Please replace the Desert Eagle. I must say it is the worst Deagle I've seen in any game.
Give us NEW weapons. Not guns that have been through meat grinders. They wouldn't give the RSix team old weapons I don't think.

Sounds like a graphics card issue go to your manufactors site and download the updates. If the card is real old it may not work at all.
I have problems with hosting a server people play and server freezes and kicks everyone out. This is happening frequently and did all the time in the demo as well. Im running the dedicated server with the dedicated server tools but others not running dedis have the same problem. I think there is something wrong with the lobby!

1 hour ago i discoverd a level leak that allows the player to walk trough the wall outside the level.
abusing this leak will lead to a god mode thing and can serious affect the online game play.
there for i will not simply post the answer here how to hack in the level but need some pro to look at it before it spreads trough the whole community.
if requested i can make some screenshots etc but i hope this will be fixed when the final arrives.
to compare the "glitch" its almost like in rainbowsix ravenshield doing the trick in the airport map what will allow you to walk out side the level freely.

Server browser is still broken.
It sometimes shows a server that I know is running and sometimes does not. I know the server is running. I can add the UBI ID of the user for the server in the friends list and the server is shown even though it will not show in the multiplayer server browser.
Again this is a bug that a basic bug testing cycle should have shown. Addittionally it was brought up in the feedback from the demo. Why it was allowed to go out the door in the retail is inexcuasble IMO.
Fact is many near-show-stopping issues were identified in the demo that still exist in the retail. None of them seem to have been addressed. There is absolutely no legitimate excuse from a game development company to allow this to happen (with show stopping bugs, a deadline is NOT a legitimate excuse). I'll say it again, UBI you have demostrated a complete inability to test your games. You need to re-evaluate your Q/A and bug testing procedures.

This account has been locked
I have This account has been locked error when going into MP.
I have a creative X-FI card, the sound is very poor. It's been mentioned in other threads and I think you may already be aware of it.
Also... this may not qulify as a bug but you might consider a change in a patch. I think the sub-machine guns are too weak. It took 7 torso shots for me to bring down a guy with the HK-MP5 (or whatever you call it now) and I think that's too many. I was a bit far away but each shot was center mass so he should have been dead by # 3 at the most.
Does distance even have an impact on the amount of damage a hit does in the game?

I agree with you dude and when were paying to host good dedis we need them up and running not down or crashing half the time. Like it or not Clans and people that run dedis are a big part of making a game without a place to play and people to play with you'd be playing single player this is currently my biggest issue restarting the server every 20 or 30 min is getting to be a pain in the aZZ!
We run currently a Primary Target Dedicated server in the lobby if you guys at ubi need a crash log or something please let me know i will send you anything u need to get this fixed. The server seems like it times out everyone gets disconnected and you have to restart it. Its not a server issue because we host several other games including Ghost Recon without a hitch.
Heres a crash log i found i dunno if it will help or not.

Can you address my question about distance, in another thred I read where the engine has support for distance drop and windage. Are those features in use in this version of LD?

I don't believe so, I don't have retail yet, still waiting for it to be delievered, so I can't answer fully. Distance wouldn't mean much in a CQB game anyways, you need to be shooting a few hundred meters for it to start being a factor.

I forgot about that, I also had the black player models as well. Powercolor Readon X800GT but I have it OC'd slightly above it's already OC'd factory settings so I chalked it up to that. Not to mention I use the Oemga Drives, another reason why graphics hardware/software is the primary suspect.
Before anyone tries to dis my card, I should say I'm planning an upgrade to something with a more respectable number of piplines in the near future (gettin ready for GRAW). The X800GT was my "foot in the door" card for PCI-E.

Windage only becomes a real issues after 300 metres. Most rifle's most effective range is between 100-200 metres. Before this distance the round tends to break up on impact, afterwards the loss in momentum leads to less energy transfer on impact.
As for the game I find there are many things that need to be addressed.
Not having to manually edit the ini to turn off auto reloads. Better pistol trigger response.
The custom character setup is really hack and slash, the uniform choice doesn't even work properly.
Still have yet to see a server with a ping around or under 100 ms.
Weapon's remain far to acurate on automatic.
Run and walk speed need adjusting. (run slower, walk faster)
Be nice to have spectator mode back in multiplayer. From what I've been told you can't turn off auto respawns either.
The AI is terrible. They have been touting it as a new improved "unnerving AI" as it says on the back of the box, but I lost count how many times my team members dropped the banger at my stack's feet before entry blinding the whole team, then getting us all killed.
If you run up beside an enemy quick he doesn't have time to respond and won't actually notice you there. You can then stare at him for as long as you want from a meter away until you feel like shooting him. I think the AI must be bugged or something. I can't believe this is what they spent time on, there must be an issue.
I look forward to a future patch which addresses a lot of these issues.
Yen Lo

there needs to be a communication from the stack to team leader to let him know that they are formed up and ready to clear a room, something like "ready" or whatever.

I've noticed a few bugs but only one comes to mind now. When you kick a door open and try to fire quickly it doesn't work and you get wasted. This has happened several times to me. Also, a few times when I've tried to quickly switch to scope more (or rets mode) and fire it doesn't work. I don't know if I'm trying to run through keystrokes too fast for the game or what but it is consistent.

except for the levelbug to go outside the level i also notisched that fire bug, i had it also during crouching, if i meet an enemy the first time i do is crouch zoom and fire. also had around 10 time nothing came out of my gun and had to click again to activate fire.

I just installed the game on the same system I played the demo on. I get through the cd key verification, then the screen goes black and my system crashes. I have to hold the power until the machine switches off then reboot. I've tried reinstalling and that didn't help.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Like I already mentioned in the feedback thread. There's a bug (most likely) in Bunkers map, where you have to crouch to pass 1 or 2 crossing boards. Other side of the map doesn't have the same "feature".
Sounds still disappear and crack/pop from time to time and I have a Creative X-FI Fatal1ty soundcard. This is the only game I have problems with that soundcard. Not sure even is it a soundcard related.
Talisman_X: I don't mean to flame or anything but you should make a new topic for your problem. Even if the reason for that crash would be a bug in Lockdown, we don't want to fill this thread with "try this to solve it" messages, don't we?

I can connect to UBI only after changing my password each time. If I dont' it will say "Illegal password" and mention some typical constraints for acceptable passwords, ALL of which my previous and new password meets. If I go in and create a NEW password I can usually get in, but after quitting and exiting the game, when I try to get in again, it gives me "Illegal Password" again for the VERY SAME pw I just used to connect the previous time I played. This is frustrating to say the least.

Dedicated Server:
Hosting COOP:
Cannot set difficulty to Challenge. Editing the difficulty to challenge does nothing.
When launching the server it automatically reverts to normal. Verified this by setting to challenge hitting ok (also tried saving first) and launching the server. Seeing the server in the browser shows the difficulty setting on Normal.
Changing the "TerroristHuntNormal" setting in the .nds file does nothing in regards to difficulty.
No other difficulty setting can be found in the .nds file.
Challenge difficulty setting on COOP cannot be used.
Cannot have more than 10 maps in the rotation. This is unfortunate as that you have 16 maps listed. You should at least allow for 16 maps in the rotation.

I do not know if this is a bug or a design feature. Regardless it should be changed.
Dead players cannot see server console messages. These should be global messages.
Sometimes it might be necessary to communicate a global message to the whole server but as it is now, there is no way for dead players to see any message originating from the server console.

If you decide to patch this game please remove the dialouge at the end of mission 3 between team members and the helicopter pilot. Its really bad, calling people "Boy", and I cant remember if it was Chavez or Losielle, esp. miniorities has very bad conatations from the past.
there should be an "escape to desktop" button on every screen where you make choices about what you want to do. You have to start the game to escape the game if you are on the outfitting screen.

The EAX option does not work as it should.
I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS with the latest drivers (not the OpenAL version). This does not happen in any other games. Only Lockdown.
You can select the check box in the options, but this has no effect in-game (SP or MP).
Also, if you choose the "Surround" speaker configuration in the Audio options, it reverts your speakers to "Quadrophonic" and not 5.1/7/1 true, EAX sound.
I tested this extensively by changing these settings, alt-tabing out of the game and checking my desktop speaker settings and they were changed to Qaudrophonic from 5.1. LD doesn't support true EAX like advertisded.
In addition, THIS (above) is why all the gun sounds are really weak -- People with 5.1 sytems are being forced into either two channel stereo, or four channel (quadrophonic) and they don't know it.

I was wondering how the hell my speaker setting keep getting changed.LOL. Now I know. But mine kept getting switched to 2/2.1. I have the audigy 2 zs also.
Some bugs that I have noticed.
Sometimes when I am going up stairs all of the sudden it's like a hit a wall and can't move forward anymore. But if I back up a bit I can go forward again. WTF. It's like there is a temporary invisible wall. Happens on the Syria map alot.
Also the 'm' key to give teammates commands (SP) causes my game to crash to desktop. I hit the 'm' key and the little headset comes up then my game crashes. Not sure what that is all about.
The server filters don't do a damn thing either.
If you use filters the same servers show up no matter what. Example if you chose to only look for servers that don't allow respawn it still shows the servers that have respawn.
I really had high hopes for this game but with all the multiplayer and server problems, horrendous sound problems I don't give this game more than 3 months before it becomes bargain bin. But wait GRAW comes out next month so UBI doesn't give a damn about this game. Anyways I have fun playing this game when I am actually able to but I can rarely connect to servers. I've checked my log files for norton so if anything is getting blocked when I am trying to connect and nothing so my firewall doesn't seem to have anything to do with it. I think it is just buggy programming. Also I don't have a router. Maybe if they would release a stand alone dedicated server files most of these problems would probably disappear.

Agreed a stand alone server tool should be made and released we need it. Im not so sure though its the server tool thats the problem but what its connecting to as thats always in the error messages i get. I hosted tonight for 2 hours with no crashes and ranked. I have no idea how i got it to go that long but was fun when u get to play http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/mockface.gif

Ok, im having the same bug as a lot of others... possibly the worst of all and must be fixed ASAP. Installed the game.... it works, enable PB but then crashes. Restart and it crashes at UBI's intro... If I can't play the game within a week, I'll be pissed right off.
*Note: I have to monitors set up, and i watched the task manager on my 2nd screen as i started up the game. Apparently Lockdown starts up twice.

Not sure if this has been aswered yet but, there are two codes when you install this game. There is the CD key that you use to initially install the game and then there is the Online line key that you need for multiplayer. My online key was located on the back of my manual. Hope this helps out.

Ubisoft made all of the rainbow 6 series
the only prob i had was the sound issue with no weapon and grenade sounds which i have now sorted
you must have a faulty disc or something if it keeps crashing

Well, i have to say that the single-player campaign was purdy good. So far the MP sucks. It seems that most ppl are experiencing this almighty lag problem, the MP games are super laggy. i dont know if itll wear off or not but i sure hope so. i play americas army and everytime they come out with a patch its laggy for about a week, then wears off. i hope this wears off and we dont have to wait for a patch.

I don't know if these counts as bugs or missing features:
1. The Join Game filters don't work properly; passworded games always showup even I deselect the "Show password locked games" button.
2. The filters are extremely limited. I should be able to filter by ping, empty server, full server, etc.
3. Once a multiplayer server is up the settings are "set in stone." The only way to change an option (or even the map) is to close the server (causing everyone to disconnect) and starting a new one with the new settings. There should atleast be some server settings in the lobby.
4. Shadows look jagged even on "very high" setting, as oppose to the DEMO, they looked smooth on "high."
example:
http://ubisoft.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ubisoft.cfg/php/enduser/fattach_get.php?p_sid=Wol4QC*h&p_id=575484&p_tbl=1&p_created=1140177194
5. Can't log in using my normal account to play online. The game locks my account and I have to reactivate by visiting ubisoft.com. I ahd to create a new account specificly to play Lockdown online. This needs to be fixed ASAP!
6. There doesn't seem to be an in-game map or the ability to review the intel while you're in a mission.
7. The textures look horrible on the custom characters, but fine on the pre-made characters.
examples:
http://ubisoft.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ubisoft.cfg/php/enduser/fattach_get.php?p_sid=Wol4QC*h&p_id=575484&p_tbl=1&p_created=1140177192

8. The light glow of the security camera is terrible. It looks extremely low resolution.
examples available here:
http://ubisoft.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ubisoft.cfg/php/enduser/fattach_get.php?p_sid=Wol4QC*h&p_id=575484&p_tbl=1&p_created=1140177189

I don't know about you guys, but it really feels Ubisoft have chosen to ignore us. We're not getting any reply or acknowledgement.
If I don't see any signs of improvement in the next 7 days I will seriously consider boycotting Ubisoft products. This is really getting pathetic on Ubisoft's behalf; the least they can do is announce that they are reviewing feedback they've been getting, and they're working on a patch. That is at the very LEAST.

Wow thats kindof wierd bc i can play R6: lockdown at maximum graphics on everything and dont have a prob, my comp isnt incredible or anything, its just decent, i built it almost 2 years ago.
Heres the specs so you can compare:
AMD Athlon 2800
1 gig of DDR ram
Nvidia Geforce 5600 128mb
As you can see, its not that great, but i dont have troubles and my graphics look as good as my friend's who has a radeon 9800 and 1 gig of ram and a slightly faster processor. Maybe your comp is too good for the game, lol.
And ya, a patch will take a month or so probly, so dont think everythings gonna be fixed in a few days.

i am experiencing the same problems. I can run BF2 and BF2:SF on high graphics. I have an AMD 3200+ with Hyper Transport, 1gb of RAM, ATI Radeon 9550 256mb video card an an Audigy 4 sound card. If i have the graphics on anything but the lowest settings it barely runs. If i turn the sound up to surround and turn on EAX that game locks up, i dont get it it says all my hardware is supported yet even though i exceed the minimum requirements by quite a bit it barely runs.
Also when connecting to the internet i get an error saying my NAT or something like that is messed up and its impossible for players outside of my network to connect with me. Could someone explain that to me? I play Halo 2 on xbox and i play BF2:Sf online often. and they xbox and computer go through the same router, so why does Rainbow Six:Lockup not work

Yeah I know it normally takes more than 7 days to make a patch, but you have to consider that the developers have had access to the game much longer than we have. They also have a testing team who is responsible for making sure these issues are spotted. And I said I'll give them 7 days to show any kind of initiative, that means even an official message saying something along the lines of "We have received your feedback and we're looking into the issues" would satisfy me.
So far this is the only thing I've received regarding the network issues:
Please follow these insctuctions to troubleshoot what exactly is causing your connection issue:
- If you are using Windows XP, please make sure that the default firewall is disabled. (Please refer to your Windows XP documentation on how to disable this feature). If you have any other type of firewall software installed, please make sure that it is configured to allow access for the game that you are playing, or disabled. Mcafee Personal Firewall is the exception, that software will need to be completely uninstalled.
- If you have a router in your home network, please make sure that you have the latest firmware installed for that device. Your router manufacurer should be able to help you complete this update.
- In addition, the following ports will need to be open in your router or any firewalll software you may be running:
R6 Lockdown: 2346, 2347, 2348 TCP and UDP
Ubi.com: 6668 TCP, 40000-42999 TCP, 44000 UDP, 45000 UDP
If you are unsure of how ports work then best course of action would be to contact your system administrator or ISP for more information.
- If you have never updated Punkbuster recently, please do so. You can download the newest version of the PunkBuster software from http://www.evenbalance.com .
- In some cases, the server does not properly report your disconnection. Therefore, ubi.com still thinks you are online playing. Usually, if you wait about 15 to 30 mins, it will finally disconnect your key. It will also disconnect you once the server changes maps. Sorry for the inconvenience.
- If you have ever purchased a product from the ubi.com store or had an active Shadowbane account, your account is flagged as secure and you will not be able to join Lockdown multiplayer games as a security precaution. You will need to create a new ubi.com account using a different email address to play multiplayer.
And I've my system has already passed on all the suggestions they've given. I don't have a firewall active, R6 is on the exceptions list of my Windows Firewall.

Yah, thats wierd bout the sound too, bc i have it all the way up and i got virtually the cheapest sound card there was ( and that was almost 2 yrs ago) i just find it really wierd that i dont have trouble running and ppl with better pc's do. I just noticed one more little bug. Apparently when I open a door my weapons are disabled for a second. It takes about 3 clicks before I can fire again! This normally ends up causing me to get shot, or to miss a good opportunity to shoot!
That needs to be fixed. It was never the case in any of the previous R6 games.

Did they even Beta test this game before releasing it??

i also noticed almost no difference in graphics quality from High to Low. i mean i notice whenh i disable reflections and shadows and such but i still gain no performance and the graphics are still incredible if you ask me. Something needs to be done, I dont know what they were smokin but there is no way those minimum requirements can run this game. I mean for christ sake i exceed them by alot and im lucky if the game loads. I can Run an Antivirus scan, Limewire, AIM, Photoshop, multiple browser windows, and install a game at the same time and not have system performance comprimised beyond use. If i turn the sound up in the game it freezes

Well I understand the crosshar issue with "Challenge" mode, but then why dow e have the option to switch them on/off anyway? I think that the reticule control should be independant of the game modes.

well after fighting with the game the other day i gave up, today i rebooted my computer and fro some reason one of my hard drives couldnt be found, I removed it and booted again and then shut down added it again and it was found but said i couldnt open any files in it and couldnt look through it that it was corrupted. I tried it on my other computer and it was toasted. So i replaced it with a new 100GB 7,200RPM HD from Maxtor, installed the game on that and it ran ok but still pretty slow. Had some major problems with it. So i made the post right before this one. I rebooted the game to try again and this time i got music in the start up movie, and the menu music. I loaded a game up and it was fine, i killed my self after a minute or two and turned up my graphics and it runs absolutely fine now on max graphics. I mean flawless, great FPS and not even thinking of slowing down. I dont think i changed anything, and I dont know it just started working fine. Im sort of afraid to turn it off though.

Game is nice overall. Graphics and game play are smooooth. I've seen a lot that has been brought in from other great small team tactical shooters (i.e SWAT). Disappointment: The terrorists seem to have been dumbed down overall. I know that this was a console game first and was wondering if that had something to do with it.
I'm glad to see the terrorists miss for a change. I've always had a problem with the terrorist armed with a scorpion submachinegun 150 yards away from, hitting me with a headshot while staring at the ground. Those of you that have played all the Rainbow series know what I'm talking about. So, it was refreshing to see the bad guys miss no and again. But the AI (again) seems to be .. well dumb. FarCry (another Ubisoft) has great AI that use team tactics when facing off against the player. I was hoping to see a little more of that incorporated. Overall, I like the game and am anxious for the mods to start showing up. We've been looking for a nice coop game to play again.
Bug?:
Team Hold in single player: Team doesn't stay on hold when I engage in combat. If this happened everyttime, I would think that it's supposed to be like that, but sometimes they advance and sometimes they stay on hold. Anyone have insight on this? Is it only when you are fired at that they pull off hold and engage or is this a bug?

I have the same thing going on. Usually I'll tellmy team to mount up on a door, so I can give the GO code. I go to a secondary entry to the same room, a tango sees me, and the team just cancels whatever orders I issue and follow. I put them at that door for a reason! So that I can attract the attention of the terrorists, while my tream flanks them! But the tardz keep cancelling my orders!

PC Gamespy:
"Sadly, the only reason Rainbow Six: Lockdown, the fourth installment in the series, kept me awake late into the night was my befuddlement over how such an innovative and classic game series could have gone so horribly, horribly wrong."
It's truly saddening to see the Rainbow Six series plummet to these depths. As it is, unless the next installment is a return to the series' glorious past, Lockdown will be the last Rainbow Six game I ever play. I cherish the memories of playing the earlier games too much to let them be soiled like this.

My Lappy with a Radeon 9600 Pro/Gig o' Ram/3.2 Proc was locking continuously until I dumbed down my machine by setting the screen rez to 1024x768 and then set the game rez to the same. It was the only way it would work for me. If I used anything higher than those specs on either the Lappy Rez or Game Rez, it would crash.
My machine still suffers from the EAX isues like others and still randomly crashes. Sometimes BSOD, sometimes Windows Error Reporting Message. My sympothies to the troubleshooters and Microsoft for having to deal with all the error reports I keep sending them while trying to get my 50 bucks worth out of this game. 1. My system is rated at the recommended level, but the game runs slow. I've actually had to reduce all of the graphics to minimum values.
2. The other team members in single player will not hold when ordered to do so. They spontaneously disregard my hold order and announce that they are on the way.
3. I can't enter my full CD Key in the block when trying to go into multiplayer. I then got locked out of multiplayer.
I was able to run the demo without any lag problems. I wonder if some of this problem is linked to the StarForce Drivers.

Honestly? What gets me most about the bugs, and cons of this game is the lack of any sort of progression we had seen from Red Storm and TC himself on the series. When it first came out? Sure it was dumbed up and simplistic in comparison to rogue spear and raven shield. But it was what it was, and compared to the other FPS genres? ... Quake 2? The looming development of a game called Half-Life? It was a hallmark of tactical FPS gameplay.
Rogue Spear came out, and was leaps and bounds ahead of the original, and eagle watch in terms of this feeling of tactical immersion and tension. The graphics, the sounds, the whole package shone these points. Even the modifications were just off the charts cool for the time.
Raven Shield makes it's debut. There's a mixed bag of opinions, mainly because people began to grow accustomed to the way R6/RS played and the runnings, the grenadings, the whole package. But, and I use this -progressively-, not to take away from either of the award winning games, it was a step in a direction of tactical realism and the grip of the gameplay was, and -is- immense. weapons became more and more tempermental to spray and pray tactics, all sorts of things were changed, in the way of providing a real feeling of setting, you know? All three of these games have had tremendous shelf lives, and fan followings.
Enter, Lockdown.
It really isn't anything in the way of progression. In all honesty it's walked all the way back to the days of Rogue Spear and the original game, and for the life of me I don't understand why. Gaming companies here, and abroad all scream: "CHANGE OR DIE!" and they aren't kidding. Gamers change, whether they mean to or not. Countless rogue spear fans -do not- like Lockdown, because it simply isn't rogue spear. Honestly I think the whole idea is and was botched from the get-go when they stopped thinking of advancing what -was- tactical combat, instead of what the other side of the market was doing. They're not going to make a game that plays as well the counterstrikes. the halos, the countless ripoffs of what was unreal tournament, and the quake series. Why? Because they don't have 10 years into the engines, the styles of play, and the tenative FANS, that made that sort of progression possible. The Other side of the FPS market stayed true. You see, making a game like the quakes and half lifes isn't what they were going to be, ... or aparently -are- good at. Let's face it. Lockdown for most people that bother to -really- post an opinion of the game is disapointing at -best-. The demanding, hardcore fans of the -series- are almost all entirely put off by what I can only state is the degeneration of the franchise by ubisoft itself.
And Honestly? I can only hope the modding community does with Ned, what Ubisoft couldn't. Ubisoft had better pray the same, honestly.

5. You need to allow people to strafe to the left or right when they are peaking
6. You need to fix the dedicated server so hosting companys dont need good graphics cards to be able to host a game.
9. And for !@%@#$ sake fix the name thing so I can use my clans tags! I am [F&F]ProStreet and thats what everybody knows me by!
i agree with those htings he said. and i would have to say i would like to see gimping and running speed reduced.

Don't know if this counts as a "bug", but I really wish you guys could fix the ai for the other rainbow members, it is simply awful. They will stand in the open, with their back to the enemy, and allow themselves to be shot to death. Sometimes when you tell them all to go somewhere, to the same spot, they don't seem to mind that a wall is separating them. Also, it drives me nuts when a terrorist runs up, and they simply do nothing. This should have been a great game, however within a month, it will be found in the bargain bins. PC games today demand advanced AI, check out F.E.A.R., or Swat 4.

Relatively minor, and since I didn't look back in all 6 pages, I'm not sure if these were posted, but....
militia-03 character has 6 health points in right leg instead of 16
meter does not match up to the time it takes to open a fused door
militia-01 character has a -31 penalty for wounds compared to militia-02 and militia-03 at -30

Just bought it today, must say I'm truly disappointed. $54 for this? It's probably because I'm too used to Raven Shield (which costs less than $20 and has better sound and graphics as far as I'm concerned). But seriously...
1. Recoil??? Blood??? Or is it just me?
2. It seems a Radeon 9200 just won't cut it without sacrificing graphics (The sparks look so fake, the glass on a car window looks fake as well after it's shot).
3. Guns sound a tad soft in comparison to other sounds.
4. Sometimes I will shoot a wall... no bullet hole.
5. Pistol gets locked during training.
6. Strange popping noise when shooting the gun. Initially I thought it was the caps of the bullets dropping.
7. Bad lag even with a Radeon 9200 and DSL.
Anyone know the answers to these problems? Anyone experience the same?

i've got the same problem i've 6800 gt 256 with latest drivers but i guess these crashes are related to the voice command feature
It may appear strange but if i dont use voice command the game becomes stable
try it out and let me know if avoiding the use of voice command makes your lockdown more stable

1) There is some blood and recoil, but not much of either
2)Radeon 9200 won't cut it for almost anything when it was released, much less these days, you should look into an upgrade.
3)Agreed, sound is definately not one of the strong points of this game.
4)Same here...but I suspect it might be due to system settings.
5)Haven't tried, can't comment.
6)See number 3.
7)Upgradeing the video card should help immensely.

Settings:
=========
- When I change my default weapon loadout for a Terrorist hunt the game does not remember the settings! Even between maps it forgets the settings. Pain in the rump!
- The game should allow you to select more than 1 map at a time. You should be able to set up a group of maps you want to play!
MODS:
====
- The game is ignoring modified files from ACTOR and EQUIP folders and using the game's original files instead. We need the game to properly use mod'ed files over the original files so we can make mods.
SOUND:
=====
- I am not hearing explosion sounds from the claymores, laser trip mines, breeching charges. The explosion sounds however work for frag grenades and flashbangs so my sound is working.
- With my MSI "K7N2 Delta-L" Nforce2 motherboard and onboard Realtek ALC650 6-channel audio I get crackling any time I move unless I manually edit "options.xml" and change "useWinMM=1".

OK where do I start. I don't want rehash the big issues, except 1. Dedicated Server support. I am admining 3 boxes for TAG Gaming leauge. They are big GR fans and wanted to immediatlt implment a dedi on all 3 boxes maybe even 2 a box. But First this is you have to have a compliant video card to run a Dedi. What is this ****. Second it seams that you can only run one server per ip even if you have a compliant card. There goes shared server support. And it cost alot for a server especially customized with a video card. So I decided to host a dedi from my home network thinking Atleast my buddies and I could play on it. It was up and running on a second compmuter I have on my home network for about 2 hours. Then the Dedi couldn't bee seen by anyone else and I got the NAT issue. So it seems that only one copy of lockdown can be active on a network as well. That is bull. If anyone has 2 copies of lockdown and are playing on the same home network please confirm this issue with me. I have opened ports, updated firmware and configured and reconfigure my network( and Im no noob at networking, I know my stuff) to no avail. There is no support what so ever for direct ip configuration. It looks like we are totally dependant on Ubi to communicate between client and servers. For me it comes down to the fact that I would be setting up 20-50 dedicated servers for clans associated with our gaming league. Which means if I could even get these servers up on standard server hardware and I could have multiple instances running per server, I can only have 14 players per server. In a day and age where we can pack at least 32 players if not 64 players in a server standard. I think a compant like Ubi should be able to match or beat that ability.
As its been mentioned also the server control(what little there is) is so buggy and inconsistant that is less than exsistant. If you run a dedicated server first of all you want to be able to put atleast every map of a certian type of game play on the server at once. Second you want the maps to change in the order that you put them. On top of this you would also like to have the amount of rounds per map that you have set to have an actually effect.
I will say that the SP mode is good, and with simple standard patching it could be almost great(we all know that the game is nothing revolutionary, but still it has potiental)
But this is only half of the game. So Ubi where is our $25 refund. Also on a side not I noticed that there is an advertisment for a movie in this game, "The Hills Have Eyes". I thnk this is cheesy and it says to me that Ubi doesnt think this game is going to last. In the demo it was cool to have past Ubi title assocation with the posters. But a movie that when it comes out will be virtually forgotten 2-3 weeks after it comes out and might be played on late night Sunday Scifi in a year or two. Not what I would want one of my biggest titles to be associated with. Again that last point was just my opinion.
I know my bugs and issues sound like grips and complaints but can you blame me. A lot of us are willing as Clans, Gaming Leagues, and Player to bust our Collective asses to Make both the Rainbow Six and the Ghost Recon franchies into Timeless gaming titles. Which in the end will make Ubi more money. All we are asking for is a little more support and attention from Ubi to make them that money.

This game doesn't surprise me. It's been how many years to get this game to market?
This is nothing more than a *console* video game that was cheaply ported to PC. This game has lost the realism that was enjoyed by so many people in ravenshield.
I hope the first patch takes this game away from a console-centric style of play and bring it back to a more ravenshield type of realism.
I'll probably go back to play RS until the first patch comes out... too bad I paid $50 for this piece of junk. I might as well renew my subscription to World of Warcraft.

Well, I've finally managed to get around this issue by setting the refresh rate to 85Hz at 1024x768.
It was previously set at 100Hz by default, and the game didn't like that rate for some reason...

It's a pity it lacks its predecessors realism.
I am having a loading problem. I don't seem to be having any other kind of issue bar the fact that I cannot load any autosaved, quicksaved or normal saved games. It goes to the load screen and then just hangs there. It also takes about 3-4 minutes for the game to start up. I can live with that but the saved game loading thing is a big issue. Thanks to that I still haven't been able to move to the next mission. Does anyone know of this problem and possibly know how to fix it?
My PC is beyond the recommended specs and everything is updated driver wise. The only thing that hasn't been updated for a while is my OS.

Hello all!
After a week of hard core testing and playing of the game, generally we found it above average and generally smooth. Once in a while, when in close combat it lags. Other then that pretty good.. Graphics are very good. The punkbuster error, the multiplayer serverlist refresh only works properly once in a while. The custom clothing, guns ect, actually saves rarely when you go back into the game, and a few other glitches. Most of which should have been fixed prior to release of the game. These are very basic bugs. I expect there was some pressure for quick release. And I expect a bug fix in the very near future. All n all we give the game a B-

Anyway, back to the topic of this thread: Bugs.
I just encountered a new bug. For some reason now I can see light glows through walls. This never happened before and it just started happening out of the blue. I haven't changed my configuration or anything, it just started happening.
I have a screenshot but I don't have anywhere to host it.

game has a plethora of bugs to start i had no sound and many others which were decribed below me, i'd like to take the time to express my frustration of wasting 54 bucks on this game when it just plain out sucks really bad from the bugs in the single campaigns and dead weight computer ai on boths sides to a left empty type of feeling on the multi player this game by no means deserves or should have the r6 title anywhere near it because this game it truely and imposter to what was once a great game to play with that said i dont know if you guys paid off gamespot to get a 8.0 rating but that was the reason why i bought the game either that or the guy that did the review hasent played any r6 games recently anyways ubi i would like to thank you for ruining once was a great experiance for us pc gamers it seems as of late your forgetting who made these gr and r6 series popular and it sure wasnt ps2 and xbox fanboys maybe once you go back tot your roots you will once make quality r6 games once again untill then dont bother releasing garbage like this for pc users nemore cause you will just be wasting your money to develope and ship the game cause i for one and there are many like me that will no longer be purcahsing r6 games and the like if we have to endure garbage such as this and waste 50 bucks on it which would of went on a way better game ty

Read from location 00000014 caused an access violation.
there are a few other logs too.
Bugs that I have noticed. Mostly I play SP.
1. Seems like when you save a loadout and then later in the game you want to reload that particular loadout, either sometimes it just loads yours (not your squad) or not at all.
2. Crashes All video, sound and DirectX drivers(Feb 06) are current. No temperature issues with anything. No sags in my PS to cause crashes. No Viruses, spyware or anything loaded that isn't needed. (I even uninstalled NAV to see if it was causing it) All HD were defragged prior to and after installing. Game was installed twice to two different drives. No change. Also My computer meets all requirements. All settings (sound and video) were reduced to minimum and still experienced crashes.
3. Like someone else said, a few times my squad drops a frag in front of the door, wiping us all out in one fell swoop. These are TRAINED professionalls!
4. My cat stays better than my squad. I tell them to stay. I get too far away and they come running behind.
5 Don't seem that the squad runs as fast as I do. I have to wait for them at the next door.
6. I order the squad to "breach, flash and clear" I change it to "breach frag and clear" and they change positions (I understand), but the door charge goes off before the "GO" code is given.

hy i think ld is beautifull except for the following points
u cant load a game from singleplayer menu
why is that
the ai of team could be better they shoot in the wrong way too often they screw me up with granades throwing against the door too often when u command too nade the room
in multiplayer u can not take your premade member why is the option even there when u cant use it also i think it must be there to attach more then one attachement to your primary weapen the ai of tangos could be harder because even on challenge its way too easy to kill tangos so its no challenge ,i like too strafe right or left while peaking around a corner
u cannot command the hostage too stay en whait they are walking in the line of fire too much en the last thing that comes in my mind is that when u tell your team to hold they wont stay holding but they walking in my line of fire too
thats a real pain in the ***
one more thing i would likle too see more different suits to choose from in the pr made rainbow i love the suits of the dutch BBE or GIGN or SWAT or SIE that would be nice because it would represent a real multinational force in multiplayer games also i like some more weapens too choose from but still i think this game is awsome

I have tried Lockdown fo few hours today and found this "Lockdown caused an Access Violation in module, blah blah blah..." type of error is definitely related to the voice command, I didn't get any crashes as long as I didn't use the voice command, will try to update the soundcard driver and fiddle with the set up tonight to see any improvement can be achieved...
Anyway, hope the new patch will solve this issue.

dont count on that,
i have some crash issues too also in multiplayer games sometimes in single player too,
something to do with voice chat ??,
i think its more then that so dont count on your updated sound drivers

bug in the tunnels and caves, if you stand to close to the walls, especially the right hand side walls, there is a small rock and you become stuck between the wall and the rock

I can't seem to get the game starting at all...It worked properly before the patch...Usually patches are there to upgrade a game...this was a complete and utter downgrade, giving nothing but a blank screen after clicking on the icon. Uninstalling the patch or re-installing the game doesn't have any effect whatsoever. So now I'm stuck with a â"š¬30,- worth beercoaster. Too bad...seem to be one of the unlucky few http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

"first of all" be more specivic abouth your problem
what are the specs of your rig
blank screen always graphicsdriver problem
so what type of graphics adapter do u have installed
"second of all"
try search the forums abouth solutions there are loads of topics abouth this problem
[dont like to start "another" topic abouth this problem]
"third"
try and edit the user.ini or options.ini [dont know for shure cause i uninstalled the game]
change the line that asks wich graphics type u use [set it to agp]
works sometimes aswell

Made a mistake...noticed that my firewall was preventing the Ubi splash logo to start, with that out of the way everything worked properly again...I'm sorry about the way I posted, but I was a bit dissapointed. Curiously enough, I'm still not able to join any games in Multiplayer mode...Does anyone know how that can be solved?

I posted this in the general area as well, but now I see that it might should be here... I thought originally that this was due to the new version of windows that will be comming out in 2007 (which we have installed on an old computer for testing), then I saw everything in this "bug" thread. Anyway, here's our info:

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solutin is available.
Then when the program is closed we recieve the followingas a notepad document:

gun reload put in one extra bullet when weapon is full.
Brake down and spend some money on dedicated servers for your Games. More people will buy the game if your customers are happy and they will spread the word.

Ok, basically its ai issues that bother me the most. I have updated to latest version of Lockdown, but I still get some problems with my team not listening well. For example I tell them to follow me, which they do, but at a distance where they can't do squat most of the time, basically my scores for kills are 10 times theirs (which is normal since I would think a human would do better then ai) but you would think they would at least help, I could be in the middle of a firefight but they may just sit still and not bother helping me at all. (I usually wish they would spread out near me and help.) I end up going through entire maps winding up having to use just my pistol because my team doesn't help. (I admit now I am NOT a pro player but still) or they will walk in front when I am shooting at someone, though thats rarer in the pc version. The hold thing isn't as bad though.. if I tell them to go somewhere its usually just one guy and the rest just sit where they were. Though the situation where they will not stay in the "go" position is still there.
Anyways the other thing is that I am having hostage issues when saving them. Sometimes I or my team member tries to save them, but instead of them joining my squad they will shuffle over and sit back down with his hands over his head... Basically just before writing this I got frustrated and quit for the day just because of this issue (it was the NATO summit mission) I had this issue with one guy on the ferry too. Though in that one he had this odd thing of following me anyways and it wasn't until I got the first guy to the extraction point that I could rescue the other one.
just thought of this, the hostages are almost all male, yet I hear females talking sometimes, its rather comical.
As for suggestions, would it be possible to have a larger variety of weapons? its not that I don't like the assortment now, just I like to switch up sometimes. The TMP would be nice to see, unless its there by a diff name which is possible I am not a gun expert. Also the ps2 version had stun grenades while the pc has smoke grenades instead, would it be possible to have those added in too?

In mission 12 Marseilles, there is a bug in part one of the mission. After you've left the nightclub and are heading for the laddder, everything is fine. But when I've climbed the ladder, everything goes dark! I do hear myself walking and shooting and stuff, but I'm stuck! And I can't see anything. Even when I put on the night vision. Someone help me please?
