Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a new strategy/simulation game and I really really want to play Settlers 7. However the DRM that was originally released with the game has largely kept me from buying it. I've seen some posts/news recently that Ubisoft has been eliminating the need for a constant internet connection. Could someone explain if this has been applied to S7? I don't really mind if its going to authenticate when I connect each time I play but as I'm on a satellite uplink in the middle of nowhere I don't want to lose my game every time I lose my connection.

Thanks for any help regarding this,
Lampen

I'm sorry to inform you that the DRM is still there. I too was hoping they would take it out, but nothing has been done so far.

It is troublesome. Even with a decent broadband the DRM can be a pain.

The game, however, is FANTASTIC. Damn shame..

Don't panic though, as a connection loss only pauses the game!* You can still save etc. and/or wait for your connection to restore.

(* Only affects games that are not online multiplayer)
