I can't install heroes 5 and play it cause it says it's allready installed

Anyway... I remember that I uninstalled it, but something happend. The game never really got uninstalled. When I pressed the uninstall button the uninstallation process starts. It works fine untill it is finished and I check all the installed programs on my computer... And Heroes 5 is still there. It doesn't matter how many times I uninstall it. It's still says it's installed. All the files from the installation is gone so it should be uninstalled, but still it says it's is installed, And the game won't let me install it untill I have uninstalled it. Try this, from the FAQ in the main H5 forum:

Q. I uninstalled the game for a very good reason. Now I want to reinstall it but when I try I get a message asking me if I want to UN-install the game, and no matter how often I try to uninstall fully, I cannot do it, yet I also cannot reinstall the game because it says it's already installed. Now what?
A. When you deleted the game some of the game keys were left behind. To fix this do the following:
Go to start and pick ˜run.'
Type regedit.
Press enter.
In that program look for the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall
Under that key look for any keys related to heroes 5 (use f3 to search).
Delete all the keys found.
You should be able to install after this.

I'm having a similar problem. I had the program installed, had trouble patching and uninstalled. I've uninstalled multiple times, deleted registry keys as indicated in this post also...but every time I try to install the game runs through the uninstall process, states everything has been uninstalled, but cannot install still.

Any suggestions?

Seems like I had a simular problem with another game, I think it was Heroes III. Even after uninstall and a regedit, I had to search for a sierra.dll file (or something like that) and then delete it before I could reinstall. Maybe you could do a file search to locate stray HOMM 5 files (especially in temp folders)

I have the same problem I uninstalled tribes of the east and I can't reinstal it.
I tried regedit and I looked for files but it won't work.
Any help would be appreciated.

Also delete the folders (with contents) in C:\Program Files\Installshield Installation Information folder that are related to the game. In this very forum, search for a post by Sorceresss who listed them. Or open all folders you have there and inspect their contents till you find the right ones.

Thanks it worked. I never had that problem with Heroes V or Hammers of Fate.

I'm running vista 64bit, basic edition and I tried to install the game, but it failed...

So I uninstalled, and tried again but every time I put the first disc in it prompts me to uninstall it again....

I've looked under program files and deleted every ubisoft item, and I don't see any keys in my regedit that look like the heroes V one (I didn't even enter it the first time I tried to install), I also cannot find the C:\Program Files\Installshield Installation Information folder to delete..

Any ideas?? Please help
