1) No idea, but I hope so!
2) No idea at the moment, although the press release here says nothing about offline MP modes. Doesn't mean there won't be any though.

Very little information exists at the moment, so only FRD know the answers. And Haze will be published by Ubisoft - bye bye EA: based on their support for TSFP they were rubbish anyway IMO.

Along with Stranger's Wrath, another great game (with **** controls http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif) that they buried without a trace. ****wits.

I would expect split-screen co-op would be possible, so split-screen MP isn't impossible either, but I haven't seen much split-screen play in this Gen yet. Not really been looking though to be honest.

I see Resistance: FOM is having split-screen co-op play. Makes it look like a promising possibility in Haze, especially with FRD's history.

Im sure it will be better than Halo. There are alot of games out right now that are even better than it. I think FarCry is better than Halo. Looking at Haze right now it seems preety good to me...

Yeah, Halo is a little over-rated for me. The first game was really good, I played it through on co-op, but the second one left me cold for some reason. I've never played it online though.

I don't see why every FPS has to be compared with Halo anyway - who really cares? The field is so wide now that it's difficult to even compare them (is Deus EX a FPS or an action-RPG? Is Gears of War technically a FPS but with third-person view?) and it all depends one what your preference is. Just because Mario is often said to be the best platformer, doesn't mean people don't prefer Sonic, Jak&Daxter, Ratchet&Clank, Megaman, etc, etc.

My all-time fave FPS is obviously TS, simply because of the fun characters, user-adaptability, controls, MM and great action.

I also enjoyed Far Cry more than Halo - the open-ended play was a lot more fun, although the AI could be a little erratic if I remember rightly. The interior levels suffered a bit IMO. Good MM too, although there again the AI was pretty hard to get working well.

I agree with you about the first halo, it was very good and the second one was not so good. I have played it online alot but it really got out of hand. (It has to be the game that I have ever seen with the most cheating, even worse than Counter-Strike!) I hope Haze is really good. I have not seen a game I thought was excellent since Half-Life 2. Im more into computer games so I am now thinking of getting Haze for the PC and not the PS3.

Everyone compares Halo with other FPSs because It is the game everyone knows and most love. Almost every major game website, like Gamespot, gave it a 9.6 or more. (Talking about the first halo) I myself, loved the first Halo. It had a great story,(which alot of FPSs do not have), great multiplayer maps and balance, and interesting enemies and weapons.
To sum this all up, I hope Haze will brighten my spirits.

Haze dosent need to kill halo, timesplitters was always better. All that Haze needs to do is stay on top.

We really cant say anything about Haze "being on the top" yet since it hasn't even come out.

Yeh, a game doesnt need to be well known to be good. TS had everything, i think it should of been more well known.

Although I'm loathe to say it (as TS's design rocked), Haze' more 'realistic' style will definetly help it sell in the marketplace, probably better than TS, although a lot depends on how it is marketed, (the UK TV ads - from the TSFP publisher - for TS were never going to do much for it, if anyone saw them. I'm being nice here http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif).

Hopefully FRD will be able to use this graphical 'trojan horse' to flog great gameplay to the masses as well and show them what a real FPS should be!

Our experience with TS was that there was a certain segment of the market that weren't interested in a more stylised (or 'cartoony', if you prefer) look for their games, I would agree. However (I know this isn't what you're trying to say, but I think I should make it clear anyway), the graphical style of HAZE isn't just some cynical attempt at leveraging ourselves into a bigger market - it's been chosen because it suits the tone of the game and the sort of story/player experience we're trying to provide.

The look of the game is also somewhat fundamental to the plot, too, you know...http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Neko.

Bloody tease.

There will always be groups of people that will like a certain graphical style above that of other others, but the great thing about FRD games (among others that I've already mentioned) is that they offer an alternative to the 'ultra-realistic' style which quite often is simply dull and dry for a lot of people. As you are already showing with the few shots of Haze we have seen, games can be colourful and full of character without being 'unrealistic'.

Definetly looks like a really good game. Caught my eye at e3 and now im addicted. Looks like it will be something like battlefield where you can fly in jets and drive around in tanks.

hey cyborg, you should sign up too the new bse forums but dont eat my brain again.
And a question here. Will this be as fast paced as ts or more of a slow fps like killzone.

deded999
05-24-2006, 04:36 AM
Without seeing it in action there's no way of knowing right now, but I would expect it to be of a similar pace to TS. Killzone was just a little too slow for me.

I hope they make the map maker like FarCry's but with elements of TimeSplitters.

I want to make more story missons but with better looking maps.

this game will be released for the xbox360,ps3 and PC... so it doesnt matter if it is better than halo... and the PC version will be the best one.
