Just a few question about new brothersinarms game.
are you ready? lol
1)First of all about the destructable cover- how is it gonna work. Now lets see, if i just shoot a AT at a spot(lets call it spot 1) which is right near the window, the window will be destroyed so is a part of a nearby wall, right? But lets say i shoot at spot... 1.7 which is a bit higher then spot 1, will it be like in old time shooters that spot 1 will have the damage just like i shot spot 1 or will it destruct by physycs rules at spot 1.7?(i dont expect everyone to understand this question)
2) Second thing- lets say that it is the way i understand it and has a badass realistic physycs with completely destructable enviropment, so how the players movement will be blocked? I mean you cant have the whole world in the game lol... It was easy in first games where you could simply block player by some wooden fense, so how the hell are they gonna make block to players?
3) About blood system- how is it gonna be, on E3 2006 in an interview to Igromania some guy from developers said that "we are not gonna make compromises to esrb and wont hide anything" something like that. Now i personally expect a gore system like in SOFII only with ragdolls, so far i saw by videos- that there is no such gore system, i mean, grenade fell near nazis, grenade exploded, nazis didnt lost even the smallest part of their body, and look injury less, so hows blood gonna be?
Hopin questions will be answered soon

I dont know what the heck you're trying to say in the first question, didn't really understand the second but about the third question, I doubt it'll be like SOFII. You're not gonna have gibby ammo that is capable of blowing off limbs or heads. Grenade/explosives will probably be able to take off limbs. The blood probably won't come by the buckets but may have a similar effect like in the previous (not ps2). The game isn't finished yet so give it time.

The second question was how are they gonna make level limits(i mean, we get a city ususally, no?) when everything is destructable. I mean, in first bia game they could just put a fense and we couldnt get thru, but when that fense is destructable.... Whats gonna be?

ill try to explane question 1

| X | - house

X- means where you shot

{ }
{ }
{ }

{} means the hole

but if i shoot a bit higher like:

X

| | - house

will it be like oldgen- hole just like in the last time:

{ }
{ }
{ }

or will it be more realistic and you will be able to see hole exactly where you shot like this:

{ }
{ }
{ }
| | - house

this is a very lousy sketch, but i think you can understand the point, so can anyone answer that or should i draw that on a paper, scan, and put here?
edit:
damn forum engine, but i think you can understand the idea here, i hope...

1. Areas that can be destroyed will be destroyed according to where the bullet hits. Based on my understanding of such things, things such made of wood such as fences and barrels will be modeled through multiple shards or regions, that are held together. They the region(s) that's impacted by the shell will splinter or break off. You can clearly see this at work when he shoots the fence in the Ubi Days video. The common understanding of the destructible environment is that all soft cover can be completely destroyed, whereas only certain places can be destroyed in hardcover(such as the wall in the church tower in the video). Also, such destruction of hard cover will mostly be done by your bazooka team. You can only order your squads to fire where an enemy is present, so there probably won't be too much variation in where a bazooka shell would land. However, it is probable that the areas in hard cover in places that can be destroyed will be modeled with individual bricks, meaning it wouldn't always make the same hole.

2. Gearbox has stated that the environment won't be "fully" destructible. If that was the case, tactics would be thrown out the door, in favor of just blowing everything up. All soft cover can be destroyed, but most hard cover won't be destructible.

3. At the time of the videos, the gore system was not yet implemented, but there will be one. It will probably be one of the later things added to the game. I expect it will be more similar to past BIA games(Xbox and PC), than it will be to SOF.
