Wow. Everytime I start to get excited about this game, I read some stuff like this.
Assitance mode?
Throw me in a blimp so I can not calculate my maneuvers? I am willing to give this a chance before passing any harsh judgements. Could be something interesting, or it could be somthing that removes a virtual pilot from any immersion gained prior to the blimp cam activation.
EMP blast?
Blazing Angels 2 weapons, didn't we learn??? Why put in a super weapon? Takes the spirit of air to air combat away. You know, guns, missiles, and BFM? What's next? Smokescreens? Leave the defensive countermeasures to the pilots skills.
Repair Drone?
I can hear the pilots now.
Pilot 1 - "Hammer 3-3, heading 270 degrees to repair UAV"
Pilot 2 - "Lead, Roger, egress northwest"
Pilot 3 - "Hammer 3-2, Tally, visual, bandit right, 2 miles low."
Pilot 2 - "Lead, 3-3 shall disregard transmision by 3-2, and procede to UAV."
Pilot 1 - "Hammer 3-3, missile 1 mile low right, ETA, 35 seconds.."
Pilot 2 - "Lead, Roger, fire EMP, jink left, the UAV will auto heal aircraft"
Sounds rediculous, doesn't it? The prospect of a repair drone in a flight combat game is absurd.
This is pushing the limit to far IMO, and doing nothing but catering to the HALO type crowd.
The aforementioned SHOULD be options that are available for the NUGGETS and not a forced feature set, because I (as well as majority of members here) am not interested in playing a flight game that makes Ace Combat look realistic.
You developers should listen to reason, and have an option for EVERYTHING you can think of, and when you do have that list compiled, come to the MB's around the net and LISTEN to the gamers before finishing the game.
Please don't make this about WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. Plus, if I am way off based, please feel free to correct me?
In closing, I hope that the delay in the game is due the devs addressing the issues that have been brought up in this forum..
