Hey guys,
I just heard the news about the pc version delay so I'm looking into getting an xbox cuz I just can't wait til May.
I'm not familiar with the xbox at all so my question is:
What is the bare bones minimum that I'll need to play RS on xbox? Are there different versions of the xbox? Will I even need a controller?
There are some used/refurb'd models on ebay and craigslist for about $100 but I'm not sure if they have everything that I'll need.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Yes, you will need a controller. Xbox come basically with different sized Hardrives and this won't matter unless you want to play the game off the HD to lessen the DVD drive noise which is terrible on the older version.
I am not sure how much memory the saved game uses, but a memory card is always an option.

I have a first-generation Xbox 360 and it's fine for Rocksmith. I don't think you need to worry about upgrading memory. You'll need a controller, two if you want to do multiplayer.

Will I need the HDMI version?
Thanks again!

HDMI helps get better picture quality out of games, but for the sake of Rocksmith, they've said playing off the HDMI cable introduces more lag than RCA cables do.

I have the hdmi version and it was awful until I bought a separate audio component out. Now it is so much fun to play. Component cables are great for Rocksmith.

Just be careful buying consoles from Craigslist. You don't know the history. Some of the original systems had problems and you do not want to inherit that. I would either buy a refurbished bundle from Gamestop or I'd try to see if I could snag one of the new 4Gb consoles for $149 with all the sales going on lately.
You will need a controller or remote to navigate the menus. You can use a regular USB storage device for game saves if you have one. Next week, Microsoft is releasing a console update that will allow your profile and game saves to be saved in the cloud. So you may not even need a storage device anymore unless you want to save movies, music or photos.

You can get a pretty good deal on a used xbox 360 slim from an independent game store. I would stay away from Gamestop for a used one. I would not buy an older 360 like mentioned above, you might get one that has had issues with RROD. I bought a used slim for my duaghter not too long ago and we have have not had one problem with it.
