Hi All. As a precusor to COD,I'v been downloading a few campaigns which deal with the Battle of Britain, one of these is "Fighter Boys" [ A Spitfire squadron August 1940 ] and I must say its very good, but one thing does not seem right!

The campaign states that we are 62 Squadron based at West Malling and are equiped with Spitfires. Well I found out that 62 Squadron was posted to the Far East [India ] in 1939 and flew Blenheims against the Japanese.

And I cant find any reference to Spitfires operating from West Malling during 1940,the only reference is Spitfires being based there to combat the V1 threat in late 1944.

In fact there is no mention of West Malling in the list of front line sector stations in any of the groups.

I may be barking up the wrong tree,so if anyone has any information disputing the above ! I would like to know. Cheers. JM.

ps. This may be not of interest to many, but with the coming of COD, I think its good to set our minds staight as to who flew what from where

Need a mod to run it? Bu-bu-bu-but the mod community is fixated on accuracy aren't they?

You must get in touch with the author. Its not official.

Possibly its a 'what if' campaign?

I have downloaded that campaign but not played it yet, maybe should be 66 Sqn. although they were late on.

If I remember correctly you don't have a full choice of squadrons in Il2.

During the Battle Squadrons were moved around - 501 Sqn. was the only one from beginning to end and they were at several stations.
