Hey guy's i just rememberd something i wanted to type about a few days back.
But didn't because i lost the website where i saw it.

It was a (trusty) dutch gaming website that talked about splintercell 6.

That it already was beeing produced by ubi soft shanghai.
And that it will be a complete follow up or prequel to chaos theory.
So the same style and everything.

Is there anyone who can back me up with this one?
Caus i can't seem to find that website.

This would be good news for people who really don't like conviction.

I'l contineu my search tomorow.

Doesn't seem likely, and I also can't find anything on an upcoming SC other than Conviction.

Would be cool. Although i hope it comes out late 2010 or sometime 2011. I want a chance to get done with SC:C

I know you can't find anything about it.
It was just in this one privet xbox magasine thing.

Also bearing in mind that creating a came takes 3-4 years.
It almost certain people are working on splintercell 6.

And if a trusted magazine says that someone at ubi ratted out and tolled them a little bit about the story it could be true.

Actually, many games have a development time of two years. Not all, but many.

The only thing I saw that related to the OP was another post on a forum and it went into extensive details about the game, until the end, it said...
"And then I woke up"

I was excited for a minuted too...

splinter cell 6...with that same stealth and and its around CT
-.- ok
+stealth of CT is coming back
-the story go back,i just think with the SCC that the story should move on to a new scene or corrector.
+they need to have the krav maga and the shooting they have in scc just if things don't go as plan.
now if this was true of course but i believed that this is just a joke.

Sounds very, very suspect.

I wouldn't say it holds any weight.

Well the one thing that is highly likely is that Shanghai is making the next Splinter Cell. It always follows that pattern of Montreal and Shanghai alternating games.

But as far as concrete information about the game itself, its still too early to know.

I believe that after DA, it was decided that Splinter Cell would not be returning to Shanghai

I doubt it. While I think SHanghai is a good company, I don't think UBI has anything rolling on SC6 until COnviction numbers are in.

And the whole "CT style prequel/follow up" thing sounds like fan service to me.

Noo, they are already developing SC6, this is obvious.

Ubi Shanghai started DA while chaos theory was still in development. Then immediatly after CT was released Montreal went to work on conviction. So it would make sense that immediatly after DA was released, shanghai went to work on SC6.

They basically took the IW-Treyarch approach that the COD series took.

So, after waiting 3 years to find out Ubi Screwed up Double agent we all waited 2 more for Conviction Plan A and got all excited. Plan A sucked, so we waited 2 more for Conviction Plan B. E3 comes out and we are so pumped fo rthe new game and hope they don't ruin Spy vs Merc. Then it gets delayed and no infor for 6 months until the announcement and guess what Plan B sucks now too. But this is the best, now you idiots want to get excited for Splinter Cell 6 before Plan B even comes out. No Thanks. I think Ubi has proved what they can do with this franchise and I won't be around for anymore of it.

He guys just to clarify it isn't a joke or something , at least not from my part.

But i really thought i should let you guys know.

I'l start searching for the article again later this evening.

EDIT

I'm starting to get the feeling that it doens't exit anymore?
Maybe ubi saw it and demanded to take it ofline or something?

I really can't explain it.

Well I'll keep it in the back of my mind, only because I really want it to be true, hopefully it is. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

It would actually make a lot of sense, since Shanghai probably started on it right after DA, and since at that time Montreal was just doing the restart thing with Conviction, Shanghai probably couldn't really play with the new stuff in Conviction, so they just started working with the old stuff...makes sense.

They probably will add some of the new stuff once they finish up with Conviction.

They did a switch on us, now Shanghai is doing more stealth stuff while Montreal is doing more action stuff. Would be cool, since they could do old Sam, and Montreal could do new Sam.

Don't forget shanghai is the one who created your beloved SVM.

So with any luck it will be back.

Good point, though I actually don't really care about it, since I didn't have xbox live back when it was good. I actually prefer the split screen co-op.

UbiSoft Montreal /UbiSoft Shanghai are only names , most of the developers were barely 10 yrs old when the original Splinter Cells rolled out.

The devs are only 17?(according to your statement, Agent)

I highly doubt that.

Considering that this last game went through a complete overhaul and reboot (changing dev teams in the process), and has taken four years to complete (as opposed to the almost yearly release cycles from the previous games), and that UBI probably isn't thrilled with Shanghai after DA and EndWar, and that the gamestyle is drastically different... I would disagree with you.

If it's true that Shanghai is working on SC6 which is more like CT then it's just amazing. I'm gonna skip this Conviction arcade SP/bad MP **** and wait for a new real SC-game. Only good thing in Conviction might be the CO-OP Mode.

Actually you are all wrong, Montreal made the multiplayer and shanghai made single player, thats why Doubleagent failed for multiplayer..
cause shanghai was trying to make a multiplayer game..

Don't believe me ? , find the credits of pandora tomorrow and you will see ...

Well this is kind of good news I hope. But honestly I liked Conviction a lot better when it was going to have the crowd control mechanics. I think it would have been a lot more fun than this M&E stuff they're trying to push on us. Also I'm playing Double Agent now (didn't before) and it's not horrible like everyone says it is. The SP is kind of repetitive (specifically the annoying JBA HQ minigames). I would say so far though that it is at least comparable to CT...mainly because the art work and cinematic style is good. That being said...I always did prefer PT and SC 1 to CT...never could understand why CT was favored compared to those. SC 1 is ultimately the best and seems like it will remain that way. If it had the updated graphics of CT it would be even better. But the amount of levels and time spent I'd say was higher in SC 1 than any of it's successors. If only they would return to that style of the game.
