Tell us a bit about your country and what you think about it. Even if you live in one of the bigger countries we, or at least I, still want to hear what you think about your country rather than just the normal media description. Pictures are always nice too http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'll start with my "country" Froyar or the Faroe Islands.

We are located here:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/2c/Map_of_faroe_islands_in_europe,_flights_and_ferrie s.png/800px-Map_of_faroe_islands_in_europe,_flights_and_ferrie s.png

and the islands are placed in this daggerish formation:
http://www.web-translations.com/resources/country_guides/Faroe_Islands/map_of_faroe-islands.gif

The Faroes are a small country technically belonging to the Danish Kingdom. But I advice you not to call us Danish anymore than calling a Scotsman English. If you accidentally say a Faroese is Danish, be prepared to run and run quickly.

There are about 50.000 people in the Faroes, meaning that we are no bigger than an average small city. Still most Faroese dream of one day being an independent country, even though there is some disagreement when it comes to when we should become independent. As it is we are more independent than Scotland, but we don't have an army or much of a foreign ministry.

Culturally we are hyperactive compared to our size. We have a metal group called Tr, which likes to remake ancient Faroese folk melodies, here singin one of my favourites Sinklar's vsa (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I1geB7U5VI&feature=related). There are those like Orka delving into more experimental rock (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y68KfgBzWwc), more traditional rock/trip hop (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAow5Simzsc&feature=related) if you prefer the band called Clickhaze, brilliant folk singers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oe4xR8N9f_o) like Hanus G. Johansen, relaxing feel good music like Eyun og Terji (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54wlAfuUAPc&feature=related), singer songwriter music like Teitur Lassen (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Dr0WgduMRo) or if you are more into emo punk it is The Dreams you want to listen to (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fo0OGnvhss). As you might have gathered by now I could go on and on when it comes to Faroese music, we even have our own symphony orchestra. While it might sound strange that 50.000 people produce tons of good quality music it is not quite as incredible as it seems to be. Music lessons are free until you are 20 years old and available to anyone who wants them, many foreign musicians have decided to make the Faroe Islands their home and the fact that we are so few as we are means that everyone who wants to play music gets to play music and has an audience. Even I, playing the tuba, have tried playing with a punk band and a pretty popular folk singer at the most popular festival up here, the G! Festival (http://www.gfestival.fo/), which has gotten very good reviews in for instance Financial Times (http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/c78c5bb0-7fdf-11df-91b4-00144feabdc0.html), The Guardian (http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2010/jan/02/faroe-islands-g-music-festival) and Clash (http://www.clashmusic.com/live-review/g-festival-the-clash-review). The reason for me playing with two so different groups at a festival is not that I am a top notch professional player. I was just available to play and they needed a tuba player.

Music is far from our only culture, but that is what I find most interesting. When it comes to painting we have some dead painters which were quite good but mostly we haven't moved artistically the last 40 years, so I will refrain from torturing you on that area. Some brilliant actors, some brilliant film makers but mostly mediocre. Guess that is the same in most small societies. The one really interesting thing culturally, apart from music, might be our food. We eat dried fish, half rotten fish, pilot whales, sea birds, half rotten sheep meat, sheep intestines filled with blood and flour, sheep heart, head, liver and pretty much whatever sheep you can think of except the marrow and brain due to the possibility of disease.

I probably should mention that Faroese generally are obsessed with football. Personally I hate it and think we are embarrassingly bad at the game, but people insist on mentioning a lot of times we almost won Italy, Germany and other big football nations. Some times we even *gasp* beat Scotland and we beat Austria when they were champions... 20 years ago http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Saksun, one of the more beautiful areas in the Faroes. Easy to get to if you don't mind a bumpy road. Generally our houses don't look like that although even some of the modern ones do have grass on the roof.

http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2007/03/25/travel/25faroe600.1.jpg

The island out there is called Nlsoy. I would guess around 2/3 of the Faroese can see that island from where they live.

Don't know the name of the tiny islet, but the small island is Tindhlmur and the larger one Vgoy. Tindhlmur features as the hiding place for a fictional power hungry Faroese the childrens' radio used to tell stories about when I was a child.

http://i.ytimg.com/vi/MQjiCEJXiNg/0.jpg

Mind you, the weather is far from always good in the Faroe Islands. Some say there are 4 seasons in a single day. Might begin with sun, then rain, then fog, then snow and then sun again. That particular picture is from one of our frequent winter storms. While it would blow most mainland houses away, we build for the storms so we usually don't have much damage.

Night is probably the time I like best up here. I once ended up in a village 25 kilometres from home at 2 o clock in the night, was supposed to be in a party but the sky was nice and I felt like biking. Needless to say my mates solemnly declared me to be crazy.

Feel free to aks me questions about the Faroes...

Else I came to think of that while I wrote this half sleaping yesterday I only told about politics... So I'll tell a bit about the country when I'm eating my breakfast.

Oh and a bit of sales tecnique... hrm hrm:

If you are a tru patriot and think people ought to know more about how your country really is, if you are bored and have nothing to do, if you don't think your country is anything to talk about, then this is the place to say it. Tell us about your country now and you can know that you have done a good deed. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif

Ok, more down to eart this time.

We don't only have strange political systems or colonial powers here. THere are too things like musik. In the summer time we have several festivals and it aren't only danish and faroese celecbrities here. We too have had people like shakin STevens, Brian Addams and sissel kirkeb¸ here, and a lot of other celebrities I've long since forgotten the name of http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif but it seems like more and more real celebreties come each year, and that those who have been here mostly wish to come back. Else we don't have so many fameous Faroese singers. We perhaps have TEtur Lassen, or how he is called, said to be pretty fameous in the US and has a lot of immitators allready http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif, Tr is on the way... hope they make it and then perhaps the northerners have heard of Eiv¸r Pállsd³ttur.- THe Danish musik minds are at least starting to fall for her.

We have lots and lots of sheep and mot of us know how to butcher one... ok in these days perhaps only half of us.
The most important industry is fishing and fish export, but they are, like allways, dreaming of new industries here...

Well that's it for now. Feel free to write or ask while I'm in school... and perhaps you could try when I'm home too- if you dare http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif

the things we belgiums are most proud of are belgium chocolats, belgium beer( most beer are already been crowned a couple off times best beer of the world) and the invention of french frites( yes i know it says <span class="ev_code_RED">french</span> frites, but that's a mistake made by the americans, the britsh say it alright though, belgium chips.) not sure what to say next about belgium. in flanders al cities have their own dialect of flemisch(dutch). wanna know more about belgium? pm me http://images.encarta.msn.com/xrefmedia/nencmed/targets/maps/map/T065573A.gif

A little known fact about F¸royar:

On the 12th September 1990 they defeated Austria in a soccer match 1:0.

That's very surprising since it was the F¸royar islands first non-friendly soccer match ever. It inaugurated them on the map of European soccer and even led to the building of the Toftir stadium for home-games.

In Austria it's called the defeat of a century and it is still rumored that every member of the National tem get a apckage of smoked salmon for new-years each year by the F¸royarian tourist office. And the team chief each month.

Sometimes it seems our soocer team hasn't fully recovered from that yet http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

"In the 1950 World Cup, the U.S. team pulled off one of the greatest upsets in soccer history, handing England its first ever World Cup defeat 1-0, after England had recently beaten the rest of Europe 6-1 in an exhibition match"

Countries? I live in Sweden. Sweden is a big land made of wood! We live in small hollow trees and spend most of our time imitating birds.
To get food we swim to the faraoese Islands and steal Justice's sheep. Yes, every last one. Sercret Holders sheep to.
The polar bears in Sweden are the largest in the known world. But they're mostly harmless unless you've eaten to much cheese. Ninetynine percent of the population is blondines. Honestly.
The rest of the population try to compensate by painting their hair black and go on fueling raids in siberia. Steal lots of oil. We also like to eat insects. Red insects.
Or maybe not...
The truth is out there! In wikipedia anyway.

Lol here's another swede http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Sweden_red_house.jpg
Normal villas in sweden is painted red with white "corners" and when we are building a new area of residences we have all of them in the same colour -_- I wouldn't be surprised if I'd meet the minotaur some day searching for some friends house...

In sweden we must eat some of the most disgusting food in the world, like that stinky salty fish. We doesn't eat insects but the things we eat taste worse... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surstr%C3%B6mming
It gives you gases and taste worse than it smells.

Palt is another real swedish dish.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitepalt
It is like eating on a rubberball it just taste less good and it is also quite close to tasteless...

The famous swedish meatballs isn't really swedish, but it is one of the few "natural swedish" dishes that doesn't have the taste of h***... hehe I exagerated a bit there http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif We also have quite a few soups, we have pancakes (crepse without a filling), a few "hot dogs", but exspecally in the north of sweden we eat things like palt, salted fat from pig, and "sourherring".

In sweden we are NOT blond with blue eyes... In my class at school there is 2 or 3 blondes, out of 30 guys... The most common haircolour is brown. The eyecolor isn't the typical blue and light blue. It is also very common blue and green (with green as inner color and blue as outer (I have that eyecolor myself))

In sweden we are quite tall, being 1.9 meter isn't that uncommon. Normal height is around 1.85-180. A fully matured person that is 1.70 or bellow is short.

THe school system is like this:
First you have a "play school": Dagis it is optional and not all parents have their kids their.
Then you have the "grund skola" Which all kids have to atain to. I begins when you are 6 years old. and that is the first year (offen refered to as "sex¥rs" (the year for the six years olders) or 0 grade as it was applied just "resently"), the grund skola is up to 9:th grade (including the 0th grade http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif ) and you only have grades from 8-9 grade.

The grundskola is divided into three groups:
L¥gstadie (the first years): 0-3 grade
Mellanstadie (middle years): 4-5/6 grade
h¶gstadiet (late years): 6/7-9 grade

It is in the h¶gstadie it gets serious. At some schools i begins at 6:th grade and at some at 7:th. In most schools it starts at 7:th but they have few a classes with h¶gstadiet in 6:th, like the third language.

After the grundskola the optional "Gymnasiet" comes (Highschool? I think it is), theoretical it is optional but practical it is not. You can't get any job without it. Here you need your grades from H¶gstadiet to apply to a school.

Gymnasiet is three years (4 ver very uncommonly)

After gymnasiet you can apply to university or "H¶gskola" if you want, (uni is academic studying while "h¶gskola" is more practical)

I am in 2:nd year in gymnasiet http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Well I am to lazy to tell more stuff if you are interested either search on wikipedia or ask it here then if I check sometime I'll answer http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Slight correction, there's not really any difference between University and H¶gskola(Highschool). Some old H¶gskolor has been classified as Universitys, but it's really just a title. For example, if you want to study physics in Gothenburg, you can choose between physics at G¶teborgs Universitet(a University) or at Chalmers tekniska H¶gskola(a Highscool). Despite the fact that GU is a university, the education at chalmers is considered much more difficult and is rated higher by employers.
/Red_orbiT- making pedantic useless corrections everywhere!

Cause funny enough it turns out, that without the tons of money we give you every year, you don't feel you can handle yourself. Sure it's great having big cars, big houses and living quite well, but apparently giving up some of that for the freedom that you speak so dearly about, isn't worth all that much to you when it comes down to it.

And before you even think about it, no I have nothing against Faroese people. In fact I live door to door with the sweetest woman from Faroe Islands.

. The most important, in mine eyes, is that The Danish government is one of the very few countries that ignores the declaration which states that countries with sub - counries are to help them in gaining freedom and, even if the sub - country doesn't want to, make it ready for embracing the world. This the Danish government has never done, but rather ignored when we voted for freedom (51 - 49) in 1946 and when we had the freedom government in 1998 - 2004, I think, they weren't exactly helpfull.

If you, Chlala, see this as mocking, you have some serious problems. This is nothing but cold, hard political facts.

I hardly think the danish are the only ones doing that... there are plenty of places where people want to break out from a country but are forced to remain by military efforts. I would not be surprised if the palestinians, kurds and basques would like countries of their own...

Hi. I am a proud bulgarian descendant of Sandro. Don't say you didn't know Sandro was a bulgarian http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif!

Now seriously. My country is more than 1300 years old. The first mentioning of "Bulgaria" as a country name was in the liberation of the bulgarian tribes from the turks in 632 ad when was known as Great Bulgaria. The birthdate of our country is considered to be 681 ad, when khan Asparuh, invaded the land south of Donau.
http://go.hrw.com/atlas/locator/bulgaria.gif

Since then we've been twice under the dominion of other countries. The first time when in 1018 we fell under the rule of Byzantium. It takes to year 1186 when we liberate ourselfs. Though this ancient conflict, bulgarians never retained a bad attitude towards byzantium or their today's successors Greeks.
It was all different when we fell under ottoman rule. The only thing i am going to say is that bulgarians don't say "ottoman rule", but rather "ottoman slavery".
Almost 500 we were absent from the map of Europe. Until 1978 when in the course of the Russian-Turkish war, we became independant again. We still have many territories outside our borders. For example Macedonia. It was a countryside in Bulgaria before the Ottoman rule.
But it seems with the European Union it doesn't matter anyway. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Now let me show you some pic of me and my friends, we did last year in Pirin - one of the most beautifull mountains we have.

This is the "Baikusheva Mura" tree which is dated to be almost 1300 years old! Which makes it a symbol to our country.
http://vordhosbn.hit.bg/images/mura.jpg

This is me on the left and my friend Stefan, looking on the path we have to go in the next morning. As you may notice, i am not very eager about it. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

http://vordhosbn.hit.bg/images/vihren.jpg

And a sight to all above:

http://vordhosbn.hit.bg/images/sight.jpg

As an end: I love my country, i love it's mountains, planes and lakes. And if you have an opportunity come. You won't regret it.

Greets!

I haven't seen anyone post much about Britain. So, as I live here, I'll add some nice background fluff about old Blighty.

http://www.poster.net/anonymous/anonymous-great-britain-union-jack-4004182.jpg

Britain (actually the 'United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland') has been around for millenia, though has been united and divided into seperate kingdoms multiple times.

The name Britain orininally coming from the Celtic 'Pritani', or 'painted people/men' which later evolved into 'Britannia', the Roman name for the province in the South-East of the British Isles.

http://www.mywinetutor.com/images/maps/great_britain-pfv.gif

It has never truly been one country, rather a group of four united into one (hence 'United Kingdom') and the people of each country often take great pride in their heritage. Though English is the official language of Britain, each country (and even in some case, regions) retains their own language: Welsh, Gaelic and even the recently revived Cornish. It is important to remember this, and though Britain is relatively small (it could fit into Hudson bay in Canada), there are a dizzying array of dialects and sub-cultures on this fair isle.

Britain has a war-torn past, the original Britons of England having been invaded and conquered by the Italian Romans, Germanic Anglo-Saxons (hence "Angle-land" - England), Scandanavian Vikings and French Normans, not to mention our own Scottish Picts. Dispite all these invasions, Britain never truly became part of an empire or other country, the distances by sea and the rather rich land causing almost all of our successful invaders to stay permenantly. This explains why today's English can trace its roots back to not only Old English, but also Latin, Old French and multiple other old languages.

More recently, we have been invaded by Spaniards, Germans and even more Frenchmen; but England and its ever-more expansive reach has not fallen since Norman times, thus explaining our long line of kings and queens.

Enough of that though.

Later on in our history, we began expanding our reach further from our own island borders, managing to take sizeable portions of France in the Middle Ages.

Due to the fact that we are an island people, the British Royal Navy has always been strong and well equipped, explaining the reason why, for quite some time, we owned the truly largest empire in history - an empire so vast that it was once said 'the sun never goes down on the British Empire'. This was true too, as the British Empire included Canada, the United States of America (up until the Declaration of Independence in 1776 - honestly, it was a mad German king's fault), India, Australia, New Zealand, areas in Asia and Indonesia and a large number of islands some of which are still technically part of the British Isles.

Britain has had an extremely colourful and interesting history, and many white people from the old colonies can trace part of their lineage back to Britain. The Commonwealth is still going strong, with the Queen of England still counting amongst her subjects many of the old colonies.

There are so many other things I could say - the fact we're a totally multicultural society, the incredible number of foreign monarchs we've had, exactly why so many Brits of every colour and creed are so proud to be British - but I think that'll just bore you. So I'll just say this: visit the fair isles of Albion some day and take a look at our glorious history for yourselves.

Enough of the pompous historian bit though - here's a few pics of various parts of Britain including my own home county of Warwickshire.

Nah, he doesn't need to do everything you say(unless he joins the cult of Alderbranch), he just has to be grateful.
Like this:

Blacktoast: "No thanks."

See? That was grateful. Thanks is a very grateful word. Oh yes!

Did you also know that the French and the Dutch were here first, they just didn't like the parts of the country they came to. Captain Cook supposedly used the map by the French seamen to arrive in Botany Bay. Except for the fact that the French landed about 120km north of the Bay, and found the land harsh and unappealing. The Dutch landed in North Western Australia, and well, its basically desert out there. Captain Cook just got lucky and found a nice place due to an error. Maybe he should upgrade his Seafaring skill?

Crikey is closer to "HOLY SH*T!" Alot of people use it in country Australia, especially in North Queensland, which is one of the reasons I can't wait to get out of this country and move to the Czech Republic! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif HUZZAH! There are thousands of things that we could all thank each other for. Try, for example, the inventions you use every day: the telephone, lawnmower, rubber band, toilet paper, vacuum cleaner and even viagra and the humble mousetrap. Oh, and we created the first ever working television.

So now, I believe, it's your turn to thank us.

Actually the dutch were here a good 200-300 years before cook. I live in darwin, NT and I am not a southerner and I know what some people use crickey for, however I just hate the way that Steve Irwin uses it to portray Australia. Not to mention John Howard for naming the train on the Ghan after him.
I knew the french had explored here previously but didn't Cook claim it only three days before the french landed to claim it. (after they had explored it)

Crikey is believed to be like a lot of other English slang, a corruption of medieval English exclamations.
The cockney "cor blimey" or "gor blimey" is derived from "God bless me", crikey is a corruption of "Christ"
One reason for the changes in the various words is to avoid being accused of blasphemy by the authorities, they took that VERY seriously in those days http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

My rule of thumb is never to take any notice of the government, especially if they said something way before my time. It's that older generation that owes you gratitude. I promised, and therefore I owe, nothing.

Do you know that the s-word is actually an abbreviation of 'store high in transit'. Or I think so, anyway. The pre-marital sex word has always remained the same, in any case.

I always thought that the old four letter swear words were corruptions of the old Saxon words.
They were quite usable words till they were converted to christianity and the church has always had a funny attitude to sex.
The old words became swear words and were replaced by "posh" Latin based words

This was an unusually civil thread for being, basically, a nationalistic one. Kudos, everyone. Now, there was a norwegian earlier here, but he was a lazy sod, so I'll give it another go.

Well. *stands up* My name is Rune, and I'm a norwegian. *blush* *applause*

Right. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Okay. That english guy commented on scandinavian vikings. Hey. That's us. (Well, and a few danes and swedes too). Well. The 'us' of a millenia ago, which is NOT a minor detail. The norse religion, very commonly referenced in popular culture and embrazed by nazi scumbuckets, is utterly dead. (Okay, a bunch over at the university of Oslo is trying to resurrect it, but they don't count, they're weird people.).

Historically it's kind of fun to be Norwegian. Yes, the vikings raided a bit, but more importantly, they were explorers, traders, and mercenaries. So we have a part of our history in almost every european country and some others, from Russia and Novgorod, to the Turkish Varangian Guard, to the Bluemen of africa, to England, Iceland, even America.

Well, after we went around and hacked people to bits some king's daughter married some danish prince, and suddenly we were part of denmark back in the 14th century. Kind of in the Faeroy situation. Back in 1814 Denmark sided with Napoleon, Sweden sided against him, and we basically changed hands like some package at Napoleon's defeat. However, in the days between we managed to get ourselves a constitution of sorts, which is the important bit (to us at least). In 1905 we became independent of Sweden, as well, also in a completely bloodless revolution. (Which I guess should reflect positively on both of us).

Thus norway USED to be able to claim not to have been in a war (except defending ourselves from an invasion) for over a century, nearly a millenia, or for its entire existence, depending how you defined it. Then there was that ugly business about Irak and Afghanistan.

We're currently a democratic monarchy - we invited some english guy over to be our king in 1905 by national election, and I must say, him and his family's been doing a good job of it, and I actually feel proud of our previous king, King Olav V. (Yeah I'm a monarchist.).

During world war 2, we were neutral at first, until we were invaded by the germans. We got a lot of help from the English in particular, and our entire merchant fleet (Norway was then a flag of convenience for merchant ships, so we had a bloody lot of them) went to port in England to join the allies. We've since felt we've had close ties with england in particular. It helps that our humor is annoyingly compatible. One story from my father of those times I still find weird and chilling - english bombers coming over the city to bomb german ships in port, and people cheered even as the bombs (inaccurate as hell) destroyed half the city but also sunk the german ships.

In more recent years, we've found oil, which is a pretty neat thing to have. It's left some norwegians a bit more smug than we have a right to be, but most of us are pretty level-headed about it. One thing we're not level - headed about is winter sports. Inexplicable, we *expect* and take it for granted we should take the most medals in the winter olympics. Which is a bit optimistic since we're just 4 million and compete against VASTLY larger countries. Still, at least we don't do too badly.

Personally, I've travelled a lot, and I'm patriotic enough to say, heartfelt, that I believe Norway to be the most beautiful country in the world. (Although you have to appreciate rocks to think so, I guess). A few pictures would help, I guess, I'll see what I can dig up...

This last picture is of the trolls' wall, according to myth the portal into the trolls' world. It's hard to judge the scale - it's the largest vertical drop in europe, of about one kilometer, and a popular way for base jumpers to kill themselves. If you drive up the Romsdal, from ...ndalsnes up to Domb¥s, you'll go past it. That's one of the most spectacular 4-hour drives you can make.

Hey, I`m part Norwegian myself if I dig far enough back in my family history.
My mother came from the Shetland Isles and as any one who has ever made the mistake of calling a Shetlander a Scot has found out, they regard themselves as Viking, having been settled by Nowegian Vikings a long long time ago.
My father was part west highland Scots, which also means....yes, Norwegian Viking again, as they settled all down the west of Scotland.
The last bit is north east England which could be either Saxon or even Danish Viking http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Hey, brother! (or great-great-great^10 cousin) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Since we're still on the subject of history and vikings - one thing that's funny is the viking penchant for naming. I think we learnt the lesson from iceland. Call a place something like 'land of ice' and you hardly got any settlers. So... 'Hey, we found this REALLY rocky and inhospitable place'... 'Hm... okay, we'll call that greenland' Yay! Lots of colonists... hey, they almost all died? 'Wow, this place isn't actually THAT bad, but it's really way off'.. 'Okay, that's Wineland.. oh ****, they died too.'. Vikings were the first marketing people. :S

Iceland and Svalbard (Norway's one remaining 'colony', recognized since 1925, its name means 'cold edge') were sincerely named though, and Shetland were called, if I remember correctly, 'Heroes' land' - Hjaltland. Not bad, and I'll assume it was sincerely named as well, the early places weren't that ironic.

(Picture of Svalbard - now we're talking cold and inhospitable... but still looking good.)

The Kingdom of the Netherlands was formed in 1815. In 1830 Belgium seceded and formed a separate kingdom. The Netherlands remained neutral in World War I, but suffered invasion and occupation by Germany in World War II. A modern, industrialized nation, the Netherlands is also a large exporter of agricultural products. The country was a founding member of NATO and the EEC (now the EU), and participated in the introduction of the euro in 1999.

Oh, because some (most) of the currently available maps of the world (including the more specific ones - mainly Europe) are misleading I'd like to mention one little thing:

Yugoslavia is no longer Yugoslavia. It changed from Yugoslvia to Serbia and Montenegro in 2003 (14th March) and recently there was a referendum concerning the autonomy of Montenegro and it has passed with a majority of 55,47% people voting YES. So, Serbia and Montenegro are now two separate states (which is really interesting because they qualified for the world championship in football as a UNION - Serbia and Montenegro; now they are divided so I'm not sure if they will remain as a union for this championship OR change something concerning participation - weird, huh?)

And, I know these things because I'm from Serbia and Montenegro. We have a REALLY interesting post WWII history - first we were SFRJ (Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia - Slovenia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Croatia), after that in 1991 SRJ (Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia - only Serbia and Montenegro), 2003 Serbia and Montenegro, and finally Sebia AND Montenegro as separate sountries. In the intermezzo between two WW we were a kingdom (mostly all of the countries that were in SFRJ, only it functioned as a monarchy and was called KSHS - Kraljevina Srba, Hrvata i Slovenaca - English: The Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenians).

I currently live in Budapest, Hungary - I study here. I come from a mixed marriage, my father is Hungarian, my mother Serbian. I was born in Subotica which is a city on the northern border of Serbia and is heavily populated by Hungarians (they are a national minority in Serbia, but a regional majority in the north of Serbia) so I speak fluent Serbian and Hungarian. It's a very nice city with a pop. of around 150,000. Although some people consider it a REALLY big village I still consider it a city...local patriotism anyone? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Maybe I'll post some pictures later on if anyone is interested...and if you have any questions, just ask - if I can I'll do my best to answer them.

It depicts Hungary as it was BEFORE WWI (since 1918 - Trianon, Versailes - it has been reduced by two-third in favor of Romania, KSHS - Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenians and the former Czechoslovakia - modern Slovakia was more or less under Hungarian rule before Trianon). And Serbia is continental so it doesn't have access to the Adriatic Sea. Not sure about the rest, BUT these two parts are totally wrong. I'll post an up-to-date map of eastern and central Europe as soon as I get my hands on it.

OK, I found one that is quite OK, it is a political map (meaning that it only defines borders and such) but I had some trouble posting it. Here is the link though:

http://www.rec.org/REC/Maps/eur_map.html

BTW, it isn't accurate just because of ONE thing - it still depicts Serbia and Montenegro as one state. Montenegro is the part of the union that has access to the sea (the little square teritory on the southwestern part of S&M).

And about the 150,000 pop. thing...it's kinda a stupid argument in my country about the status of Subotica. You see, considering the Serbian Constitution, for a settlement to gain the status of a city it needs at least TWO municipalities overlaping - currently there is only one - the Subotican municipality. Politicians and some other creatures (no offense meant to people who know politicians/ are politicians/come from countries where politicians are constructive and good people - my country has VERY lousy politicians, and even those who are good can't change the situation drastically) have been working on this topic for the last 15 years or so, because there is a small settlement to the north (around 30,000 pop.) which could also qualify for a municipality, not to mention all the outlying villages that are simply EAGER to get more administration and a more important role in money-making/spending decisions. I don't know if this makes sense...it does from where I'm coming from.

Basically, Subotica - eith it's 150,000 people - is still a village. Which wouldn't be a problem if at least it's budget was largere...but it's a VILLAGE'S budget. Stop the craziness by killing me or banning me from this forum...or solving Subotica's status. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I am a romanian and our history has more versions than the bible so I'm sure that no web-site can fill you in our background. Basically, the romanians are descenders from the tracs. Till this very day - almost 2500 years ago - we have words in our language even if this fact is most unknown. Our beginning as a nation is pretty oldish and this are the historical facts we are learning in schools: back in the early Roman ages when Rome was just another town on the map somewhere north a big river - the Danube - lived a peacefull but proud people, true descenders of the mighty thracs - according to Herodot -. They will be known by the historians as the Dacians. Historically the dacians stayed under that name for a short period of time - aprox. 200 years - since the big Burebista till the end, brought by the roman commander Traian - not to be confused with the countries modern leader Traian "The Sailor" Basescu -. At the end of a 5 year period in the year of our Lord 106 ad, the dacians were overrun by the romans. And - this is the cool stuff http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif - thus Romania was born. The remains of the roman army established a good relation with the dacian women left.
Since that moment till today the romanians lived on the teritorry between the Carpathian Mountains and the Black Sea. With some "minor" adjustments, all the credit goes to Ribbentrop and Molotov for that. If any of you should read some of our history it will strike you the fact that this would be probably the nation that had the most historical leaders. There's at least a big name in every century since 1300 till 1877.
1877 is the year we beat the turks last time and we proclaimed our Independence. Soon we will go under the prusac influence becoming at the same time a land for a new monarchy in Europe. In WWI we were the good guys and in the WWII we had to be bad for a period of time but finally come to our senses.
One of the heroes of Armaghedon's Blade add-on to Heroes of Might and Magic III - good days, huh?!? - is called Gelu. Well, funny or not we had a national hero in the early days of the 2nd millenium.

That would be the history - known from school and some extra from documented people - and I shall help with some nice pictures of this sensational country as soon as anyone of you will tell me how to add the pictures to the forum. Till that time I bow to your culture and nationality.

You press reply, and there are some option right above where you write. the one of them who is second most to the right, is the picture. In there you press the URL, adress, of the picture, and must make sure it is only a picture. If you find them on the web, then right click on the picture and say abilities or something like that, and there you see the adress of only the picture http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I didn't find out how before I had about 500 posts http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

That's an interesting piece of history, are the tracs the same as the thracians?
Far as I can remember, the romans had a lot of trouble taking dacia too, and only managed after they'd divided(with politics and foul play http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif) the dacians into four factions in a civil war... ah... divide and conquer... the Roman way http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Well, somebody had to do that stinky job anyway. I'm impressed in Red's knowledge of universal history and I have to say that he was correct: my "tracs" were actually the thracians. As for the "divide and conquer" technique applied to Decebal in those days, there are pros and cons. I just stated the facts we were learned during years of hard school. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/typing.gif
P.S. I'll be back with the pictures. I selected some nice ones already but I have to pick up some more. And could anyone in charge add an avatar to my name?! I want Agrael's face http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

OK, I've already shot myself a couple of times - but consider the lillies...

I reacted impulsively, so I immediaely looked at the Balkans (because it concerns me the most; example: when there is a fire in the neighbourhood, I check my house first - don't give a **** about the rest) and only reacted to that - the other 'slight' differences came to me later, but I didn't want to b**** about them (nobody likes a know-it-all). Anyway, thanx for pointing out the Russian teritory, I didn't even look at those until now, when I saw that YOU CAN SCROLL to the RIGHT, because the map is wider than the everyday post. It was fun to see the teritories of the Ilkhans, the Kipchaks, the small khanates and little feudal properties of quazi-russian nobles from that time (I say quazi, because Ukrainians and Russians are still fighting over history concerning these parts). It gave me some time to reminisce on the old times when I was writting my graduation paper on the Mongols (XII-XV century) and must say that it's a very interesting page in world history. The paper came out nicely, even though the first 15 pages of the total 34 were about the end of the 12th century and the beggining of the 13th (Genghis Khan, his sons and the forming of the Mongol Empire - the Crucible campaign in AOEII: Age of Kings to a lesser extent).

I agree, my bad...next time I'll try to analyse the whole picture and comment (or won't comment at all...nah, ain't gonna happen!).

Viktor K.

P.S. It's a nice map. Wonder what kind of world we'd have now if the borders were still the same and dragons roamed the wastelands...

I don€t think we got a proper presentation of Denmark, so here is one from another point of view than that of an angry Faeroe.

We are proud to say we have the oldest monarchy in the world, formed by our first king Gorm the Old in around 950. Our current monarch is Queen Margrethe the second, but today the monarch don€t have any real power. Today the power lies at our parliament €œFolketinget€ which is where our politicians meet and discus.

Today we are just a small nation not known by many (but more might know us sine one of our newspapers printed the famous Mohammed drawings), but there was a time when we where a large nation. Our land also consisted of: Norway, large parts of Sweden, Schleswig and Holstein in Germany and large parts around the English town of York. So as you can see, we were big. But then we lost it all. Many losses in wars with Sweden made our land smaller and just as many wars with Germany didn€t make bigger.

Our most famous writer of all times is H.C. Anderson, who wrote fairytales: the ugly duckling and The Little Match-Seller.

And some pictures

OK, I will add something about my country as well. I live in Czech Republic(CR), we like to call it "the heart of Europe because CR lies in middle of Europe. Our history goes back to 7th century - first state founded by Frank merchant Samo. In middleage It was Kingdom of Bohemia(you can see it on Red_orbiT's map) and it was quite a powerfull kingdom. Later, we were part of Austro-Hungarian Empire. After WWI 28.10. 1918 was formed Czechoslovakia by two nations - Czechs and Slovaks. During WWII we were occupied by Germany. After WWII, Czechoslovakia fell within the Soviet sphere of influence. In 1968, an invasion by Warsaw Pact troops ended the efforts of the country's leaders to liberalize Communist party rule. Anti-Soviet demonstrations the following year ushered in a period of harsh repression. With the collapse of Soviet authority in 1989, Czechoslovakia regained its freedom through a peaceful "Velvet Revolution." Finally 1.1. 1993 Czechoslovakia was divided into Czech republic and Slovakia. (But it was peacefull, we don't hate each other and many Czechs says that we are like brothers. We have similar way of life and very similar language).
I think that our mentality is influenced by long years behind "Iron Curtain", we can be a bit envious, and we are debating and complaying about everything in a pub (I think it isn't so unique http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ), but we have great sense of humor(often black humor), we like a beer, and we are handy(we say "golden Czech hands", we can made many things ourself and it is IMO quite unique hobby to have a workshop and a garden to look after). I think that our most precious articles are Czech beer and Czech sportsmens, we also make cars "Skoda".
Enough words, let the pictures speak:

Hello from Hungary again, this is Viktor speaking, your Hungarian expert who comes from Serbia! *wink, wink*

I've been to the Czech Republic three times so far - twice to Olomouc (Red, that's a place that should be VERY interesting to you - the only settlement in eastern/central Europe that didn't fall prey to the Mongol horde - very nice citadel and excelent strategic surrounding: patches of forest and a river that's called Morava if I'm not mistaken, we have a Morava in Serbia as well) and once to Prague. Actually, twice - the second time I went to Olomouc we just VISITED Prague for a day. I love the Czech Republic and most of all I love Czech beer - the first time I visited (we spent seven days there) I drank 10 different brands of beer...but, even with that accomplishment I can only say that I tried, maybe 40% of their beer? Brands that come to mind - Kozel (we have it in Hungary, quite a big import actually), Krusovice, Staropramen (Staropramen Granat is my personal favorite), Starobrno...most of these have many variants as well - like ale, bock, pils, etc.

I remember Prague...one of the best days in my life. I remember we went up the hill (Petrin?) and climbed that 'miniature' model of the Eifel tower, which is like 30m high. The nicest panorama I have ever seen. Olomouc is also great, we went white-water rafting and I know the inner city like the back of my palm.

As far as football is concerned - congrats on your victory, I've watched the match, a nice example of 'how to play football well'. But...Serbia is going to the finals anyway - we're going to toast Argentina with at least 5:0 and after that humiliate The Ivory Coast like we did the Hungarians a copule of years ago (7:1 home victory, 5:0 away), although that wasn't the WC. So, I guess we'll see you in the finals then, ey? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Too bad we didn't manage to defeat Netherlands - but this was mostly because of the referee...

Well I'm gonna get pissed anyway on Saturday - we just located a Serbian tavern in Budapest, so I'm gonna go there and brag about my exploits in WWII - like the time I single-handedly defended a Serbian bunker from the zounds! of aggressors. It will probably be a sad party because the football part of this post is just me losing control and gliding hastily to Dreamer land, but if I had to make a pick for 'Who will be in the finals?' and Serbia was out, I'd go with the Czechs - I still recall the time when we watched the Czech Republic play the Germans in Subotica (Serbia) and we had guests from BOTH countries in the same pub - there was no fight, but after Czech came out victorious, Germans went to a caffee and had some tea, while we (the organizers) and the Czechs got wasted like hell. The Czech delegation actually had a 3.5m long and 1.8m wide flag with them - so they boasted it.

Shulana veverka ktera umi repovat! (this is just phonetic Czech, I can't write in Czech...sadly)

I agree with you on that, Mr. Bobaholic. Seems that all of the GOOD teams which are SUPPOSED to win the WC (Serbia & Montengro is a good example http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif) are in groups with UNBELIEVABLE teams which are only there to knock each other out and see who will laugh last...I know that THEY are doing something, because everyone remembers the fantabulous defeat that Serbia & Montenegro (back then: Yugoslavia) suffered from Netherlands - was it 7:1? And, wellity, wellity, wellity...after the draw who is in the group with SEMO? The Netherlands! It's a plot to ruin the selfesteem of Serbian fan(atic)s.

Hope you guys do better than us. But...the match with Argentina is not yet over...it hasn't even started yet! Soon, grasshopper...be patient...wax on, wax off...

Besides, our 'superstar' players are playing really badly! I expected more of them - Mr. Stankovic is playing in Inter Milan and he plays for his own nation like he'd never seen a ball in his life! Good thing that our beloved coach substituted Milosevic for Zigic...even if you calculate their combined IQ it's still below zero, but the fact is that Milosevic has been in the team since the second half of the 90's and Zigic is a newcomer (relatively) so he's trying to prove that he's a good player. Motivation, it's all about motivation. Washed-up dirtbags with their milions of euros...thinking they shouldn't fight for national honour, just for money...makes me sick!

It's like that dude - Shevchenko! OK, he is a STAR, but the way he played against Spain...it left a lot to be desired, simply put.

And I know that this is not the football thread, but football is a question of one's country and one's oppinion of other countries, so I think this is not off-topic. Now I'm gonna go and buy two packs of cigaretes and a six-pack of beer, just to get me through the match. If I don't die today I'll live a long and happy life.

To all the Serbian football fan(atic)s: Srbija, Srbija!!!

Viktor K.

P.S. And to all the Hungarians who will support SEMO - Szerbia, Szerbia!!!

P.P.S. And to all the squirells who will support Serbia: eeeekkkk, eeeeeeeeekkk!

OK, the first halftime of the match has passed and the Argentinians are making smoked bacon out of Serbians...It's not like SEMO is playing badly, but they could use a fixer-upper - and if the match continues this way the Argentinians better win the WC, OR ELSE...that would be a nice feeling, to know that we were beaten by the World Champions - the opposite of sour grapes, right? Sweet lemon...

I'll stop talking about football - I've had enough of it for today (although I'll probably watch Ivory Coast vs. Netherlands, just to see Netherlands lose...probably not, but a man can dream, right?).

Let's talk about something else - politics for example! The Hungarian president looks like a proffesional imitator of Mr. Bean and likes to dance and make videos of himself dancing! Now who's got the freakiest politican? And I come from a country in which we used to vote every other weekend - how's that for an example of good politics? Just when I started to enjoy my 'privileges' as an adult in society, I got sick of them! Voting lists of 30-something candidates of which more than half are total idiots! Politics are good until they start to interfere with your personal life - while they're a hobby, not an obsession. I mean, it's one thing complaining about politicans and living a good life with an acceptable standard - but when those same politicans screw up your life, get your father fired from a job he worked at for 20 years and your mother suspended from her duties with a 30% cut off of her wage - that's not just plain talking, that's lack of stability and a real problem. I don't mind discussing politics in Hungary, because I live far better than I did in Serbia - and, yes, Hungary is under a socialist regime which has just been approved its second mandate (thats four years so far and four years to come). Serbia has became a democracy after a long tyranical period and just when things started to change, people realised that the words have changed but life hasn't - I still love my country, but - Serbia and politics - forget it.

Sorry for the downer - it's probably from the football http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Thaks everyone for appreciating pictures. It's funny that many people think their own country isn't so interesting (including me) and I must admit that i haven't been in all places on these pictures yet http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blush.gif. @viktor86: You can write czech quite well and for beers, my favourite is one you didn't mentioned - Radegast http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Right now I'm watching footbal and I'm sorry to say it but it doesn't look good with you http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif . Anyway I wish you luck in defeating Argentina!

viktor86
06-16-2006, 08:26 AM
I should be proclaimed a jinx and used for military purposes...all that joking about SEMO defeating Argentina backfired on me and not even just as the opposite - 5:0 for them, but add one more just in case! Frankly, now that it's over I don't care...and if the Ivory Coast 'prophecy' backfires on me as well (meaning - SEMO loses 7:1) I'll go and jump of a bridge - at least in Budapest I have a choice: not one, not two, but NINE beautiful bridges! Subotica didn't have any (probably because the nearest river was 40km away) and the ones in Belgrade are all ruined and shabby - some of them have always been, some of them from the bombing.

Anyway, prasopes1984, thanks for the wishes! By the way, I forgot to mention Radegast, it is really good, and I bought a couple of cans recently in Budapest - sat down by the Danube with some friends and watched the river flow while getting mildly intoxicated.

People from the thread, I'm sorry for the outburst - I read my post with a cooler head and it seemed a bit harsh (albeit, true), at least from my point of view. I didn't want to criticize anyone's linterest in politics - I just remembered watching football, how politics get everything dirty in my country, and its the kind of dirt that doesn't come off easily - not even with Vanish...people in Serbia are tired of unkept promisses, unfulfilled wishes and all. I know that politicians cheat sometimes (some more frequently than others) but when it's your sustenance that is brought beforehand as the question - it's not easy to turn a blind eye. I also know that every country has its 'black sheep' as a part of the politics scene - it just seems that in my country you can't find a white one.

Maybe I'll write about some of the major problems that I've faced during my growing-up in Serbia. The first fact being that I was born in a big country - SFRY - which then fell apart. I remained in SRY - which now fell apart as Montenegro declared independence. At least this 'break-up' didn't kill as many people as the one before it did. But it's sad nonetheless.

Well, that's about it. Have some nice taverning!

Hmmm. The Carpathians reach 2545 m in height in Romania. The highest altitude of the Carpathian Mountains is in Slovakia though where they go up till 2655m.

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b64/yenoh_/Norwaypictures/Norsk_flagg_1141394818.jpg

A really beautiful country north in Europe.
Seems like some norwegians already posted some information about this country so I really don't have anything to add. But it's worth visiting if you're interested in nature. And we got lovely summers and lovely winters. And we also have a long coastline http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

But I like the winters here in Norway best though. But since we live so far up north, people tend to think of Norway as a cold country, but we do actually have nice and warm summers here.

This is a picture I took earlier this year in February http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Big_Ideas

It'll be hard to gain any freedom or independence when you have those United Europe people who don't care about anyone but their own ideology base on majority rule.

Well I support the Faroe Islands gaining their independence and I support the independence of Greenland and many other subnational entities.

Now don't get me wrong, I do support the idea of a unified Europe, as well as Eurasia, but not in the manner that it is currently going.

Is majority rule of the Dans over the Faroese a logical concept or a fair one at that?

I don't think so...

The same can be said of the Occitan people of Southern France, which aren't even acknowledged by their own government.

You also have the Sami people of the Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia that desire independence.

Majority rule or democracy only works as either a tool for the government to do as it pleases with strong majority support or it works to get things done under the better wishes and desires of the people.

I will not and shall not support any ideas of creating a false utopia. Nor will I take the time to try and listen to people about their crazy ideas that will only cause civil war and greaty distrust between the people of Europe.

The best solution is with a form of government I've invented, which is called Purism or Pure Democracy.

Purism is a very similar process to democracy, except the minorities aren't as easily ignored or neglected.

It is a very complex form of government, but you eccentially need strong, dedicated, intelligent, and honest individuals to run it properly.

So eccentially you need a control form of government, similar to what is used in Taiwan.

A branch of the government to control the election process and another one to simply monitor the other branches and end disputes by approaching an agreement that supports both branches.

In addition, you would have the democratic social way of conduct with businesses, except it would include purism ideology to better support the minorities.

On the national and international level, Purism would be used to create and establish a proposal that would best suit all or almost all people.

In terms of law, an idea would be proposed in which a vote is casted. If there is a minority disagreement, then the idea suggest from minority side would be heard and a proposal that would best suit both arguments would be established. This of course requires people that understand humanities and psychology and not to become prideful of themselves or of their own ideas. People will have to become dedicated upon themselves to reach an agreement almost as strongly as being the elected representatives of their people in whatever branch of government they serve.

Oh, yes and i almost forgot this,

http://www.yesaustralia.com/Curiosidades-animaising.htm
Of the 10 most dangerous snakes in the world, 8 are Australian. The most poisonous snake in the world, is the TAIPAN, whose venom is strong enough to kill 100 adults with only one bite. In second place comes the Brown Snake, capable of sending many to heaven with one bite also. In third, the Tiger Snake, which is as dangerous as the Brown.
Apparently Aus has the most amount & most dangerous of alot of species.

Biggest snake ive seen near home sun baking on the road was over 2meters long... but its actually rare to see anything unique in Aus unless you've lived here you whole life, or you visit a wildlife park.

They're really nothing to be afraid of, like i said... you rarely ever see them, and when you do its usually because its flattened on the road, and unless you live out of town you wont ever see anything. When living in australia you should be more afraid of getting cancer.

As for spiders, they are everywhere you go but for every 10000 spiders you see you will only 1 thats actually harmfull & even then they are so small you just squish them or spray them. To put this in better perspective ive only ever seen 3 red backs (1 of which was recent).

Well thats from my experiences, but ive only seen about 5% of the country despite living here my whole life.

Steve Irwin only died becuase he agravated animals. How many others had died in the last year that ive heard of?... zero. In the last year ive only heard of two other people that have been stung by a poisionious species both of which survived (box jellyfish & blue ring octopus).

I haven't fully understood the meaning of this phrase
they kiss strangers... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif I don't know the cases Russians kiss wayfareres or shelterless persons. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Could you explain, please? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Caucasians have the habit to kiss when they first meet. I can't bear this when boys kiss each other on the cheeks! But I have to acquiesce: that's their custom. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif
But Russians are very friendly! (Excluding so-called bone-heads(skin-heads) - dumb degenerates.)

Russians friendly?
They are very cold. Moscow is very unfriendly place for foreigners.

Russians call romanians blacks http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif If europeans - romanians for russians are blacks, then russians clearly isn't europeans.

There is no point in making up your mind in the wrong way after meeting a couple of freezed-brain Russians, no point in covering us with a thick $hit gravy. You can find a ****head in every country.
Why do you think so bad?

Russians call romanians blacks
Never heard it. That's a slander.
And as a matter of fact, where have you learned this information from??? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif

Mexicans kiss when they meet. But one has to be a female. Otherwise it's just gross.
