Newbie Install Help

Hi guys,
Newbie to the whole process here! I have IL-2 FB, AEP and PF. I plan on installing all three. I know there are a ton of patches out there. Does each game have to be patched before the other is installed? (ie: do I install IL-2FB, then patch it up, then install AEP, then patch AEP, then PF and then patch PF? Or do I install IL-2FB, AEP and Pf and then patch PF?) An answer here or a link to the forum would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance for answers to my dumb questions!

Each add-on contains all patches for the previous version, so:

Install FB, reboot.
Install AEP, reboot, start game and check version = 2.0
Install PF, reboot, start game & check version = 3.0
Install PF patches.

Err,, now I'm a little confused. LuckBoy1 told me to patch FB before installing the expansion, to which I remarked it was kinda curious that they didn't include the update on FB. And if PF includes the 2 updates for AEP - even though it's stand-alone, does that mean that FB included the updates for IL-2? Forgotten Battles is a seperate game from IL2.Forgotten Battles contained no IL2 patches as it was a seperate game.It was not installed on top of IL2.

Hmmm.. okaaaaaaaaaaaay, so Pacific Fighters is an add-on? - thought it was stand-alone.. - hence my question. I work in a retail chain that, amongst other things, sells software. We flog PF off for 80 bucks - bit rich for an add-on..

origonal stand alone Il2
second generation stand alone fb=1.0
add on expansion to fb = aces =2.0
Pf can be added to FB+Aces=3.0 sometimes called merged install
or PF can be 3rd generation standalone but if on line then PF and merged are not compatable as have different plane sets.

il2
fb
pf all have stand alone patches

As Tully said no need to patch but use CDs if going for merged install via FB then Aces then PF
but then need to patch using merged version of PF patches

So for full plane sets do as tully says.

Excellent, clear as mud - just kidding. Thanks for your help. Just a couple more hours of Halflife and I'll be airborne - patching FB will be a walk in the park - not like being reamed by steam.
