So Rayman, AC Brotherhood, Ghost Recon and a whole bunch of middle fingers.

Laser Tag? SERIOUSLY? And where is Beyond Good & Evil 2? Where is the new Rainbow Six?

The conference was pretty meh. I blame Joel McHale for ruining it.

Rayman is definitely the best game shown at that conference. Everything else was, meh.

I was disappointed that the Frag Dolls didn't make an appearance...

Assassins Creed looked good, Ghost recon looked cool but I was expecting more action in it. I'm mostly interested in the tools that created the Rayman game. Other than those pretty lame.

I honestly got sick of the "bullet to the head execute" by the third time, and I haven't even tried it yet.

- Child of Eden looks great. Glad to see the rumors I heard were true and Tetsuya Mizuguchi's new game was going to be a Kinect/Move title. Motion control Rez? Yes please.

- Assassin's Creed Brotherhood looked like more of the same, which isn't a bad thing of course since AC2 was one of my favorite games last year. But why show us single player? Why not show this multiplayer component? I was under the impression that the multiplayer side of Brotherhood was just as much a part of the package as the campaign, if not more so.

- Ghost Recon looked interesting but I'm not sure I'm sold on the stealth-suit/headshot fest. Where's the challenge? Either way, I usually pick up GR games for the multiplayer, so I'll wait to pass complete judgment until the beta starts.

- Totally stoked for Rayman's true return. Been sick of the Rabbids for awhile now.

- I was pleasantly surprised by Driver, but remain cautiously optimistic about the whole thing. "Disappointing" is a word that seems perpetually associated with that entire franchise.

- Why show us the same Your Shape demo we'd already seen 6 hours before? That's just a waste of time.

- Beyond Good & Evil 2 absent, I Am Alive absent. No word on the next Rainbow Six even though it's already been confirmed that another one is in the works.

- Michael Jackson game.... I think. Hard to tell since they didn't actually show a game at any point that I saw.

Yes! It looks so great and I can't wait to play http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I thought AC:Brotherhood looked tight! I loved AC2, so yea.

But what I really can't wait for is that Shaun White Skateboarding game!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/metal.gif

I was surprised that they didn't show off the multiplayer in Brotherhood at the press conference. It is playable on the show floor at E3. And it is wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised.

Played lots of Driver today. It's sick.

I'll have more on my blog (http://www.kaitlynchantry.com) in a little bit.

Ugh... that ****ing skateboarding game. It pains me to see so much thought and creativityinto the design of that game. I was left dumbfounded by that demo. Does anyone want that from a skateboarding game? What killed Tony Hawk was this unrealistic, abstract bull**** skateboarding.

I get that Ubisoft probably want to do something different than Skate, and not totally ape it. But doing this weird, skater against the world, story driven crap is not the answer.

The press conference as a whole was a disaster. The demonstrations were boring. One of them was a replay of something we'd already seem ( and it was lame the first time) and the host was a nightmare. When he stopped obviously reading off the teleprompter it was only to make super-awkward ad-libbed jokes that bombed about 90% of the time. I think he was better last year, I guess he doesn't care now that he has a popular comedy!

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood: Assassin's Creed looks like a hastily slapped together way to extract more money from fans of the franchise, very disappointing, since until AC2 the series was trash anyway. No wonder Patrice quit. The gameplay showed looked nothing like Creed, it was linear, overly scripted and seemed more like Heavenly Sword than anything. That isn't a compliment, you don't want to be like Heavenly Sword.

Child of Eden: One of the best games of the show so far but that's not saying much. I love Mizuguchi, I love Rez and this looks like a really good use of Kinect. Will buy.

Random Skateboard Guys Skateboard Game: Looks like Okami slapped onto Tony Hawk. Do not want.

Ghost Recon: Need to play it to really form an opinion but the stealth suit seems over-powered. I presume in MP, it'll be limited.

Laser Tag: What is this? Is this even a game? Does any part of it go into a games console?

Project Dust is intriguing. Michel Ancel rocks so I'll pay attention to anything he does. Things aren't looking good for BG&E2 though.

Rayman looks awesome! Incredibly charming art style, fun looking gameplay.

Driver loos alright, but with NFS Hot Pursuit having just been revealed by EA, it's impact is diminished. Plus, who really wants another Diver game? That franchise is tainted.

Not much to say about Michael Jackson The Game, other than I guess it's Ubi's version of Dance Central. COuld be fun but we need more info.

I actually really enjoyed the press conference! I've always dug on Joel Mchale, and the only thing I found kinda awkward about him were the cruel jokes. He got a little too sassy for me at times. :3

I think the three things that excited me the most was Child of Eden, Ghost Recon, and Project Dust.. oh and AC: Brotherhood. :O! I guess it's 4 things, but other then that, it seemed like a fun presentation.

Child of Eden was really intriguing and it just may sell Kinect for me. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood looked good but it's a shame that they didn't showcase it's online features. I really hope it has sustainable gameplay and doesn't become too much of the same. I loved Assassin's Creed 2 so I'm eager to see more about Brotherhood. I really can't wait to get my hands on Ghost Recon Future Soldier, it seems really solid and you can't go wrong with Tom Clancy.

I'm with Seductivepancake, Joel Mchale should stick to Community and The Soup. They should've used Senor Chang instead.

I think Brotherhood will be fun but if they make me scale 10 vantage points, save 10 people, do 10 <insert objective here> in every freaking district of every city again I'm going to pass.

Dunno what to say about Michael Jackson game except nothing tops the old SEGA arcade Moonwalker game in terms of pew pews.

heh, the conference wasn't that bad at all. For one they didn't have Reggie >.>

overly scripted and seemed more like Heavenly Sword than anything. That isn't a compliment, you don't want to be like Heavenly Sword.

I honestly really enjoyed Heavenly sword. Yea it was really linear, however the cutscenes were generally shorter then 5 minutes each. It was also a really polished game - and unlike a lot of games that game DID have really solid script writing, acting and voice acting.

Was a little bit cautious about brotherhood, ie mainly for being the same game but just more content, however watching a game demo in action, I'm actually REALLY looking forward to it ^.^, + you get to go to Rome http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif which means MOAR COSTUME CHANGES http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I'm also intreged about Children of Eden, thats one title that the Kinetic defiantly needed. I didn't get into Rez though - so I'll look forward to this http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Project Dust Also looks intriguing http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

When I tuned into the ubisoft confernece, straight away was ghost recon, it was like 7:00 I seriously mistook the game for Crysis... (mainly cause I had my timezones mixed up and I had about 2h sleep from doing an all nighter watching sony / Nintendo conferences and thought I was watching EAs... (which turned out I slept too long) lol... It defiantly does look as good as Crysis 2, and if my budget permits, this is defiantly on my list of games http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Almost as profound as your realization of how profound it actually is.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say you don't know anything about Community... or, the gradually developing video game marketing trend involving female developers/producers/celebrities. Why let a dude drone on about video games when a beautiful woman gets everybody's attention?

Oh my, such a display of wit and creativity - Double trouble! Watch out for this guy...

Back to the topic at hand before Mr. Creepy McJerkalot had to make things weird:

I'm interested to see what they do with the new Assassin's Creed multiplayer. The video shown at the Sony conference was neat, but didn't really explain anything or give many details. It just kinda left things to our imagination.

And I loved the first Driver game, way back when, but all the others have been forgettable. Hopefully they can get back to their roots and recapture some of the fun.

Let's see, in order to derail a thread, one must post a response that has nothing to do with the thread's topic (i.e. "Thank you Sig Sour for sharing yet another drop from your fountain of enlightenment with us. That was truly profound...").

If you laid off the sauce for a bit, you might be able to keep up. Alas, it appears a task nigh impossible.

If understanding the power women have in promoting and selling a product makes one a creepy troll...

He mentions the multiplayer in a game from a series that last I checked, she has nothing to do with anymore (as far as I remember, she works at Ubi Toronto now) and he proves your point about how they should've used a woman to present the Ubisoft Press Briefing?

The complete lack of any form of logic in your statement makes me feel like I'm back at work...

SIG_Sour
06-24-2010, 12:54 PM
Yeah, because she's not promoting the game now, but instead helped launch the series and generate a ton of interest for a lackluster first title that has led to two sequels, my point is 100% invalid. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

And yeah, it's a highly illogical leap to understand the rationale behind hiring a talented female to help represent Ubisoft....

Yeah, it's probably not work. It's impossible for one to escape from oneself - the ever-present constant.

Said one troll to the other, "Why are you such a troll?"

I especially liked the part where you started trolling my replies, and then said I was a troll.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to put down the bowl until I've eaten all of my Lucky Charms. Besides, what does 'people liking me' have to do with posting here? I never said your point was invalid, nor did I say she didn't help generate interest for the original game...

I simply questioned how there was any logic in your statement that Mookel mentioning Assassin's Creed proved your point that Ubi's press briefing should've been hosted by a female.
