Something has been bothering me. Is the new engine Reaaallly a brand new engine in every sense of the word or was it built upon the Cryengine? Im having trouble understanding why UBI would do that if they had acquired rights to the engine and ip? If it is a BRAND new engine was the dynamics from cry1 used for a basis.. seeing that every fps engine "feels" different while playing ie: character jumping or crouching or even moving and aiming. Just wondering if it will Feel like a Farcry game? Thanks

Considering that UBI is not especially renowned for its communication skills, you shouldn't expect to get answers from them on week-ends. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Hmmmf I answer things on the weekends sometimes! However for this particular question I will have to bee-arr-bee.

OK Mr. Riz...
The new engine is a new one in every sense of the word. 90% of the code has been done specifically for the needs of FC2. In order to support the gameplay and technical goals of FC2 it required a new architecture and new systems. Creating an open world without loading screens, a high degree of dynamism and all the other major goals we had for the game was simply not possible with CE1. There was also a big effort to increase the immersion, in part by having believable interactions between the character and the game world. For example, not teleporting inside of vehicles. This said, the intent was to improve on the what made the "feel" good in Farcry. Hopefully once we are able to release some gameplay footage you will get a better feel for what you can expect.

Interesting.
I am curious if it will support modability etc like the Cryengine did.
