Okay.......just exactly WHERE is the button on the fishtank? I see something that looks like a button, and a red glowing light. I've been trying for almost half a day now to try to get close enough to click on them, but I can't seem to be able to. The same thing is happening for the lever by the window.....can't get that open either. When I move my mouse pointer over them, the icon doesn't change.....unless the icon changes I can't do anything (like make it work). Is this a glitch, or am I just not standing in the right place, or......? The thing is, I haven't had any gaming problems at all until now, and I can't believe that something this dumb is stopping me from getting anywhere. Someone please help (before I take a baseball bat and.....)

I've read the papers on the table......over and over again. I know what I'm supposed to do, I just can't seem to be able to do it, and that's what's driving me crazy.

try holding the button down for a few seconds longer. The instructions on how to use it are on the table.

Have you tried switching to 1st person point of view (if you are using third person)? I find that some object manipulations are best managed by changing to 1st person so you can align yourself properly.

It sounds like you're doing it right, but something isn't connecting.

The whole source of the problem is the fact that the mouse icon doesn't change to the "explore" icon....so I have no visual reference for making sure I'm clicking in the right place, or even the right object....and I don't know why its not working. The icon changes on everything else in the room (all the things on the table, the page file on the floor, the journey clothes.....), everything else but the switch on the fishtank (and I'm assuming its the round thing that's right in front of the red light....) and the lever in front of the window by the table. I figure I probably need to open it to view the telescope. How can I fix this problem? Do I need to re-install the game or get some patch? PLEASE HELP BEFORE I GO NUTS!!

No, you're just not standing in the right place or something silly.

All else fails, pixel hunt click really fast and a lot while moving your mouse around. Or move hte mouse slowly over the whole screen until things line up.

I've actually had this problem before. For some reason the cursor stops responding to anything I do while in the office. However, after restarting the game, the problem fixes itself. I'm sure you have already tried this, but that's what has always worked for me. If you have been struggling with this for a while, I doubt that it's simply because you aren't standing in just the right spot to make the cursor become active. Hopefully someone can give you a fix for this problem soon.

Restart the game? You mean, start all over again from the very beginning, or reboot my computer and try again? How do you restart a game anyway?

restart game? well you can get rid of the books in your book case and reset an age.. or just delete a character and make a new one.

Try deleting the Teledahn book. Click on the bottom gray tab with the dot in front of your Teledahn book. (D'ni for zero)
The book will recede. Go to the Bahro pole outside & you should have another Teledahn book in it. Redo the Age.
