Man this is great news, but I am also really looking forward to AA:TS Now I have to decide how to divide my time between a game I know with a million maps and a new game that seems more tactically driven. I just don't know.

They don't say how many points. Guess it must be free!

yeah

Great news indeed for fans of OGR.. But probably too late to stop the COD4 juggernaut from obliterating what's left of the GRAW community. If they've learned anything it'll be priced under 800 points. If they haven't it'll be 1200 again.

Maybe GR isn't dead. Great work Ubi and RSE. I tip my hat to you.

Why isn't this in the GRAW 2 News section ? Is this 100 % "official" ?

Just found out the GREAT news. Lots of good games out (or coming out soon),so it will be interesting to see how well this does for the GRAW community? These maps will be new for a lot of people in the community so that is exciting! (I for one didn't begin playing the series until GR2, so am really looking forward to these maps!)

One thing though missing from the article...cost? Really would like some more info on that if anyone finds it?

I predict 800 MS points. That seems to be the standard nowadays.

Although I have to admit the inclusion of the extra achievement points and the co-op missions has me uneasy..

please don't use that as an excuse to charge 1200 Ubi, there are only so many of us left here....

it would be nice if they were free but highly unlikely, but it's very good news non the least.

If there is a price to pay, and i don't mind paying, then the question is: how well will it sell?

I mean when i bought the first map pack there was not a single soul to play against except a handfull on my friends list. So i ended up playing the old maps UNTIL it became free.

Nevertheless i will buy it, because playing these single player missions from OGR now in co-op with new GFX and your friends... Priceless.

unless its free I'm not getting it and I think that's the way a lot of other people feel, the game it just too old for them to still be charging us for it, if they really want people to start playing it again then it has to be free

I'd rather have good old maps than bad new maps..And most of the maps since after Summit Strike have been really bad.

It better be less than 800 points to buy. Too many good games are coming out.

Just icase this thread is still active, my opinion is very simple, old/new, i don't care if you let me build ny own or I'm abke to DL a buddies. From the maps that are already available, I agree with MeanMF, the older ones are with out a doubt much better.

Man you have some amount of maps to play now, maybe too many if thats possible.

Ghost Recon on xbox live from Summit Strike to Graw 2 has to be the most addictive game ive ever played in my life,i missed the throwback pack 2 and i'll miss this map pack as well.

I really want to see Graw 3 though to be honest, and as for Cod 4,it will never beat Graw as its just another fps, having just finished halo 3 and bioshock,im sick of fps's,its losing its magic as a genre, overdone aint the word.

Graw 3 multiplayer with enhanced graphics and no quickshots for those cowardly snipers, bring it on!!!!!

I for one paid for the other maps other than the nowhere map, and then shortly after that they were free, so even if they are less than 800 points, I won't be bitting, I'll wait till they make em free, Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on UBI!

But this is not just maps, it is co-op missions and achievements, so I doubt it will ever be free.

I doubt they will charge less than 800 points.I guess the 2 people that are still playing Graw2 will have tons of fun with this DLC.
But seriously, Ill probably put Graw 2 back in the 360 for this.
Plantation and battlefield are a couple of my favs.

Swamp Airfield is what I'm looking forward to. Also castle and prisoner camp too. I wish those two maps were part of the coop missions.

I was just thinking, wouldn't it be nice to have the ability to assign people to 3 different teams(Alpha, Bravo, Charlie) like you could in OGR?

Take Railroad Bridge coop-mission for example. You need a team down at the bridge and two teams going north and west.

It would make organizing groups of people with different load outs much easier. It also helps with communication and the ability to stick together as a group.

WHAT, NO SWAMPS ?!!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/bigtears.gif

Ah well its all good these maps are all good. I can't wait to play firefight on some OGR maps.

Just imagine the kind of popularity this game could have garnered if they had been able to release these map packs much sooner.

Swamps would be awesome indeed, Farm would be awesome too(etc). Hell the whole singleplayer part of in OGR in co-op would be awesome!

I agree the timing is not so good if you see how many games are out now or going to be out soon.

I think it would've been a good idea if they released a couple of co-op missions along with some new maps every few months or so, just to keep things going. It's one of the more interesting/unique parts of this game. For all i care they could replace the whole singleplayer part with a massive amount of co-op missions only. Seriously, the state of the singleplayer currently is not something i want to play anyway. I'm pretty much done playing linear games.

Is it too late?

It's too late to keep the HALO kiddies.

But it's not too late to get a good core of tactical players playing again.

I already know of several GR vets who left the series long ago who are buying GRAW 2 just to play these OGR maps. These new maps are part 1 of making GRAW2 playable as a proper GR game. Open maps ( big and small ) make GR tactical. Tactics are about choices. open maps give us those choices.

Part 2 is more spawns. I understand that 2 spawns were introduced so as to make the game more balanced and easier to understand but there should also have been the options for random and selectable mutliple spawns for veteran players ( we didnt play siege for years on previous games because it was broken ).
We need multiple spawns for all gametypes, true blind siege back and random offense spawns for siege as well ( GR2 siege ).

Part 3 is people need to switch modifiers off. They are a game assist same as radar and auto aim. If you turn modifiers off you get a more skillful and tactical game for 4 reasons.

1. You can't shotgun with the 50 cals anymore. It makes them widely inaccurate after the first shot, especially when moving. Sniping becomes a real skill again. Remember when only a few people were considered great snipers. Now you play HQs and 50%+ players have a M107.

2. It limits run&gun so that the game becomes more tactical. Accuracy really improves when crounched, stationary and prone. Also it pays to go to single shot or burst when shooting long distances with a rifleman ( whereas now you just hold down the left trigger and spray ).You can still run and gun but it takes real skill to do so.

3. When you get injured your accuracy actually decreases significantly. Unlike now ( with modifiers on )when you are red you basically still have the same accuracy as when green.

4. It reduces the effectiveness of camping at the base and popping out with an accurate spray. High speed strafing greatly affects accuracy with modifiers off.

Part 1 ( maps ) is already sorted. Part 3 ( modifiers off )is in our hands. All we need is RSE to make Blind siege spawns fully customisable for all gametypes and we have a winner. If we can chose any of the spawns as team bases and select either both or one of the bases as random for all gametypes then we will get the best out of the current maps and the new maps as well. It will give great longevity to GRAW 2. We can recreate OGR/GRIT/GR2/GRSS gametypes.

Btw theres only 125 acheivement points for the co-op collection DLC. You are allowed by MS to have 250. Its possible we could see another one of these GREAT DLC packs in a few months.

Why not make the achievement "Kickin' it old school" a bit more of a challenge?

At IGN it says: "Complete a Co-op Mission without respawning, hard difficulty, and the Drone off."

How about making it even more old school by adding no ammo crates and no class-modifiers aswell? People should work to get this achievement http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I am very much content with new co-op as it's why I play GR. Would we be asking to much for some new weapons? Maybe for chapter 3?

If so please include the XM8, I know it hasn't been fielded but neither has the MR-C, M468, nor the Rx4.

Globalsecurity.org read:
On 31 October 2005, the XM8 program was formally suspended, "pending further US Army reevaluations of its priorities for small caliber weapons, and to incorporate emerging requirements identified during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Government will also incorporate studies looking into current capability gaps during said reevaluation."

Who knows it could come back. I do remember reading that the rights and specs for the XM8 have been purchased by an Gun maker in th U.S. I think it was Colt but I don't have a reference.

Actually the closest thing I could find to a pic of the MR-C is http://media.militaryphotos.net/photos/albums/album112/acg.jpg

They don't have to "lose" the M107. The host can simply restrict it. Same for the AS50.

A bit more info has appeared on Xbox.com (United Kingdom version that is).

GRAW2 - New Co-Op + 9 maps (http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/news-features/news/GRAW-2-briefed-with-new-co-op-missions-181007.htm)

Wonder what their definition of "Exceptional Value" will turn out to be?

It almost certainly means "not free", and we'll be back to a split community again. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Yes, split community is my main concern with this pack. Though I guess at this point, probably the only people left playing regularly will be the ones who purchase the DLC.

Here is what I posted in another thread about my concerns.

--One thing I hope they resolve if they are going to charge is joining rooms of people with or without the latest DLC.

If I the new DLC costs money and I buy it and my friend does not, then we will not be able to play ANY of the maps together that came out in the free DLCs. If I wanted to host, my only option would be to turn DLC off and only have the maps that shipped with game. And then we may not be able to play the exfiltration game types.

I hope if they plan on charging they have an update to turn on or off specific DLC packages.--

That's true. I never realized that once you turn off the content, it turns off all of it. Man we need alot more customization on the 360. I bet on the pc version you do SO much more. Hell there you can have whatever camo in the world you want.
