Program converting video

Hey guys what program do you use to convert the large avi files from Fraps to a standard wmv. I prefer to have an option to choose what quality the wmv is and I don't care if there are any editing options in the program. Plus, I want it to be a standard wmv so that I can open it on any computer without dling additional codecs like Divx.

Windows Movie Maker, if you have Windows XP that is. If not, run a search for virtualdub. It will allows you to compress basically any video format to any other video format.

Edit, forget virtual dub. It saves any vidoe format to .avi. Just use divx, if someone doesn't have divx, they are noobs and are living under a rock.

You were on the right track when you said VirtualDub.
Then you said forget Vdub and go with Divx. That's where you get confusing. VirutalDub can encode using Divx.

Encode with Xvid and chance the FourCC to DX50 for compatability.

Xvid is ten times better at encoding mpeg4 with an insane amount of options.
