Does AI now understand that it has to build 1 superhero to be effective against the human opponent?
Or will AI keep splitting its army between several heroes?

Hi all --

Details on this patch are still uncertain in some areas. We're working through them right now, but please remember that there are holidays in Europe next week, so some news may be delayed by a couple of days.

Also, I've updated Rick's post to mention that we're only confirmed on patching the core Heroes V game, not HoF. I know that this is far from ideal, but until I know for sure that it's happening, I'm not announcing it. I'd rather you were disappointed now, rather than have a nasty surprise next week. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Still no female Hero models? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif Some of the changes are nice and welcome, but given the long wait I don't think this patch will do enough.

What about the stability and speed of Multiplayer AI?

In 2.1/1.4 the AI is redicilously slow and sometimes outright stalls on custom maps.

Worthwhile fixes to be sure, and I am glad they are finally releasing a campaign capability. Unfortunately there is no news of a fan friendly editor that many of us could actually use. I would hate to think, they are going to admit they can't create an editor that invites fan participation to the level of the Heroes IV editor.

This is pretty impressive! I think Nival/Ubisoft patch support for the game is rather good.

The patch is already done!So I think we will see it next week!
patch 2.2 is not soon((Nival didn't do it

the information is from Nival's developer

Mandor, if u mean OldBoy's message from the russian forum, then he said that there's not any info on patch 2.2 (that mean's it can be released even the next week)

The patch 1.5 is meant for Heroes 5. The next patch for HoF, which will be 2.2, is not scheduled yet - it will be done, but with no ETA at this time.

All nice improvements. I think is time for me to instal the game again (as soon as the patch will be out).

I wonder if any of the previous patches fixed sth else about the strike-and-return creatures (human or AI). As they are actually pseudo-shooters (only they need a clear path to the target), the Ctrl key should work for them same as for the shooters, in case it's more strategically useful to have them remain next to the creature they attacked last.

"Dialogue and Combat Replay - Allows the recording and viewing of previously played combats and cutscenes\dialogue scenes in the game."

Yes!!! That is great news. I ways already begun with writing the storyline down while I was playing the campaign again. Awesome!

I cannot help but notice that a few of the issues addressed such as observer mode, were listed on the wishlist... coincidence or did somebody actually take a look at it?

I don't doubt that ubi was watching over the forums even if silently so. However there is a chance that it was already planned, I don't know.

The game always crashes for me whenever ANY gated creature stack dies. The quote above implies that they only fixed it when fighting neutral creatures? Is this right or am I reading it wrong?

The second list above, does that mean in the first mission of the necromancer campaign, the patrolling wizard heroes do not stop patrolling if you save and reload?

What does "ETA" mean???

And why can't all these expansions and patches
be intergraded with one another like H-4..

How would any of you know if you Don't have Vista????

My son has Vista and a lot of things work Great with it (I was impressed).. and before you ask, no, he don't have any of the heroes games so I don't know if H-V will or not on Vista, only UBI can answer that... but I would assume it would...

That's pretty tough to say with four released patches already available, and one for the expansion. Most companies have already stopped by then.

Yeah, and some companies have already released 20 patches in the same amount of time if necessary. And some companies listen more to the community regarding fixes, balancing and stuff.

The idea of listening to fans about balance doesn't make any sense. Which fans are you going to listen to? Guy_Lecker? Final Boss? The Russian forumites? They have to do it internally or it won't get done.

I personally haven't experienced much in the way of bugs, but I download the patches for the changes like necromancy training.

Sure, I could reproduce the bug where when in the tactics phase you split a stack in half you lose the half that was split off...however I can't think of a single situation where I would actually want to do that.

More serious is a bug like runes not working in HoF. However in a recent poll I ran on age of heroes it turned out that the runes weren't working when using a cracked .exe, so you don't have to put the original cd in. Again, not something nival should fix.

These patch notes don't list the caravan, unless I've overlooked something. was it included?

Pretty cool that they finally got that memory leak. Was there only the one, or are there others left to fix?

This is probably because this patch is for Heroes 5, and the caravans is a HoF feature.

Once the patch is installed, and proven to work onto your own machine.

Please, go into Ubisoft Folder of the Program files list of installed applications, then, the Heroes of Might and Magic 5 one and, click onto the Readme 1.5 file for all of the, now documented, details about this very patch.

Visiting and posting in my own topic thread is, almost, a true must.

Read you around everyone.

I have just downloaded tohe 1.5 patch after buying the game on staurday. I have the spanish version and after trying to run the pathc it gives an error "heroes of might and magic installtion not found" or something similar.

Do I need previous patch before I can put 1.5 or is this a known issue?

Could we hope for a NO CD patch either for HoMM5 or one of the extensions ?

It's really annoying to have to install craks and unofficial no-CD patches just to be able to play without the CD ...

I'm seriouslly puzzled by the gullibility of Ubisof management who believes that installing this **** of Securom is doing anything good except annoy their legitimate customers...
