Computer restarts or monitor goes to standby at end of level 3

Everytime Sam reaches the helicopter pilot chained to the pipe at the end of the 3rd level my computer either restarts or the monitor goes to standby. I have reinstalled the game, tried with AND without the 1.02 patch and I have downgraded my forceware like it says in another post but it makes no differnece!
